Ambrose smiled, a little self-consciously, but you could see the genuine interest in his eyes. He took a pull from the bottle and nodded approvingly, setting it down beside him on the desk, intending on nursing it.

"You could say that" he replied with a wry smile. "Compete as well - hope to one day get on the US Olympic team.... someday." He seemed to zone out for a moment before rejoining the room. "But wonderful movie - I have a soft spot for swashbuckling movies."

There was a bit of a blush to his face and he shrugged. "Well.... not yet. But... well... the coach says I have a lot of promise, and I've been doing it for YEARS. It's my goal." He gave him a proud smile.

He seemed to chew on the thought, with a surprised nod. "That's a very good point, Dude." He smiled. "I dont' see why not - especially as you're stuck here for a while. I'm getting paid $5000. You really can't beat that. ESPECIALLY for only two weeks of 'work'." And I use that term very loosely" He said with a grin. "I'm hoping that this will float me for the rest of next semester. It definately beats working over the summer."

Amrbrose was in HIGH spirits. Shaking his head with a smile after taking another swing he gestured to the intercom. "have at it, Dude."

"And I'm sure there's nothing to worry about - as much fun as it's been to come up with stories" He leaned back in the chair and listened in on the conversation.

"Hello Dr. Lockheart!" - the Dude paused and then continued with a wide grin on his face: "This is the Dude from Duplex #12. Well, first of all, I always wanted to tell you that you are a total babe, Miss Lockheart. And me and Ambrose DIG your style. And thank you for the care packages!"

He paused then continued a bit more seriosly: "And I was also wondering if I could sign up for the same study Ambrose is on. I am mostly intrested in the monetary reward there, but if it involves you giving me shots ... well, that would make the deal even sweeter, Dr. Lockheart. Where do I sign up?"

It took a lot of control for him not to start cracking up. Mayhaps the Dude had sampled some of the green stuff in the plastic bag already?

Ambrose coughed a bit on the beer as he was mentioned. Raising an eyebrow and looking at the impersonal speaker of the phine. "Me?" He questioned. How did they know he was there.... nevermind, they were calling from his speakerphone, it probably went without saying.

Setting down the beer, he leaned forward in the chair with a smirk. "Mr. Ca-?" he asked.

Ambrose nodded, putting the beer in the minifridge to finish later after putting the cap back on and slipped on his flip flops.

"Sounds like a plan" he commented. "Wonder why they want to see me, though" he mused aloud.

Heading out the door with the Dude in tow, he headed up the dirt road towards the complex. Everything seemed to be going right for him for once, a wide smile was still on his face. The bit of alcohol also left a warm fuzzy feeling in his stomach and throat.

As they approached the massive gate outside the complex, it swung open, as if it was expecting them. Given the security camera posted along the fence, it was no real surprise.

He wandered towards the main entrance, where the door slid open smoothly as well, opening into the plush waiting room.

Hands deep in the pockets of his shorts and a happy smile on his face, the Dude's attitude told stories about the quality of Aubrey's present. He'd like to snuggle her right now, the lovely doll that she was. The Dude smiled at Aubrey even wider and jocked: "If the quality would be any higher it wouldn't be legal, Dr. Lockheart!"

"So about the study ... and the $5000 that comes with it. Where do I sign? And when can I get the cash?"
