My mom actually got a Wii a few weeks ago without even trying. She just walked into a store and saw the last one and thought "Oh, I should pick that up while I'm here." Once she had the box in her hands, a crowd formed around her. People were on cell phones saying "No, the woman with the last one is paying for it right now..." mrgreen
Crazy popular system.

Dude if that happened where I live someone would've shanked her for it.

I was shocked when I went into Taget today at 1PM and they had multiple Wiis in stock....wasn't expecting that, but it might be a sign that Wii is actually going to be NORMAL now...

Sadly true.

You know, I was thinking the other day that the reason some people consider the Wii a fad is because no other console has caught on this quickly. So people try to come up with an explanation for why demand is so high when they don't see enough of a reason to merit it. So they jump to the first logical conclusion: "fad."

Personally, I think people underestimate the effect of Twilight Princess. After the first three months of the Wii's life-cycle, something like a ridiculous 85% of ALL Wii owners also owned a copy of Twilight Princess. I think that that one game is solely responsible for it's initial popularity, and then word of mouth combined with curiosity did the rest.

I don't necessarily think the Wii is "just a fad", but I do think that demand will calm down after this holiday season.

It Will, unless they release collectors edition Wii's, and make em Limited, and still kinda cheap.

Slap Mudkip on a Wii, hell, slap Mudkip on ANYTHING, insta-sales.

I seriously hope devs begin to take the Wii,(And porting to the PS3, while we're on it) seriously.
