C'tari found himself at the top of the cliff just as Tarlith landed. He smiled cheerfully at the blue and waved.

Feronamth trumpeted a hello from above the blue as he looked for a good place to land. He made a quick circle and then found the exact spot he had landed before, minus a few rocks he had knocked off with his previous take off.

C'tari did his best to tighten everything in it's semi-wet, semi-dry state to Feronamth. The flight home would not be fun. Then with one last wave down to the other riders he mounted and gave Feronamth the signal to take off.

With one powerful downstroke the bronze took to the air and spiraled upwards, throwing C'tari hard back into his seat, but the rider was used to the sensation by now. Once he reached the height he wanted to be at he leveled out and flew for the weyr.

Sisao watched calmly as her rider prepared and then took off. Hanging idylly on the breeze. She snapped her jaw a few times in discontent. She wanted to stay on the beach. She swooped a couple of times around the bronzes, and the newly arrive blue before feeling the hunger in her bondeds stomach, which in turn made her hungry. With a blink she was gone between for the kitchens.

Stretching her arms above her head as far as they could go, Deika cracked a yawn. She'd been walking on the path to the Weyr for what seemed like forever. Her father should have sent her brother to do this chore. At least he was allowed to ride the runnerbeasts. The last time Deika had tried that, they'd had to rebuild the fencing. And the time before that. She sighed in remembrance.

Her task was to go to the weyr and...uh..was it...oh dear. Dei had NO idea what it was she was supposed to be doing at the hallowed place of dragons. Maybe she'd remember when she got there.

She needed the sea. Badly.

Remia clucked at the runnerbeast as it tried to wander off with the basket she had strapped to the back of the saddle.

"Come back here, you silly creature! I need that!" she said in a mock stern voice, and shook a finger at it, which was met with a blank look and a heaving sigh.

"Come on, I see a plant over there that will give me red dye if I use the roots. If I'm going to practice my craft, I need to keep practicing. Father will have a f it if he loses another one from the family craft."

She was mostly talking to herself, but the runner nodded its head, almost as if agreeing with her. And then it bent that same head to tear up a bunch of weeds as they walked past.

Remia knelt, digging up a few of the roots from the base of the plant and then patting the dirt gently back into place before wetting with the jar of water she'd brought with her. She hated damaging the plants without giving them resources they needed to heal themselves.

"This will do... for a while, anyway. I can get some undyed yarns and threads from sis in the hold, but I don't want to deprive her of all her dyes."

She reached up, and knocked down a couple of ripe fruits from a nearby tree, and ate one herself, giving the other to the runner, who seemed absolutely thrilled. It ended up eating all of it, including the core, and then Remia's core as well.

"It's nice to know I won't be leaving rubbish about, eh?" she laughed, and scratched the creature hard behind the ears as it leaned into her touch.

"Alright, I think we're done here. Let's get back to the weyr, and I'll see what I can do with these, alright?" she heaved herself up onto the runner's back, and they made their way back the short distance to the weyr.

She returned the runner, and the stablemaster looked at her. "Have you heard the big news?"

"News?" she asked, confused.

"Yeah, the Queen's clutching. I was up there a bit earlier, but I have too much work to do to stay until she's done. I heard it can take a while."

"Clutching?! Oh, wow! Thanks for telling me, I have to go!" She snatched up her basket, and pelted towards the Sands as fast as her feet would take her.

Leaving the weyr Kyira bit her lip nervously. The dense vegetation surrounding the weyr frightened her. There was just so much of it! If it were not for the ready scent of the sea filling her with courage & the undisputable fact that the herbs she needed had to be gathered Kyira might have been tempted to turn back. Her tiny green trilled in her ear reassuringly & the journeyman healer smiled. At least she wasn't going alone.

Armed with her plant knowledge of the North & book-knowledge from the South, Kyira set forth. It was not far before she came across a plant she needed. Dolefully she stared up at it, reaching over her head. Her mind flickered to the small cutting knife she had brought to cut the plants & the young woman sighed. "I know everyone says things grow bigger down here, Fellis, but I didn't count on this much bigger!"

With a bigger sigh she turned around. "I'll need a bigger knife, Fellis. Mine from the Healer Hall just won't cut it on those stalks." With that she made her way back to the weyr.

As Kyira turned to go back to the weyr a small green fire lizard saw her and her green fire lizard. Thinking this would be some good sport, she trilled a hello to the journey woman's lizard and started an odd assortment of acrobatics in order to entice the other fire lizard into play.

(continued from inside the caravan)

Sisao went inbetween sending the other green a clear image of where she was going, when she emerged it was just above the bronze dragon Feronamth, who was settling himself back down after having bugled at another passing dragon. She stayed high enough and in just the right place that his half closed eyes didn't see her at first. She would wait for her new friend to show up before rousing the great beast.

Fellis emerged from between calling for the other green. She had popped in & out of between before, but not on following a sight given to her before. The little green was half scared of being alone. She was not out of the shell long enough to have much curage on her own. At least not without her impressed.

Sisao felt the other green's nervousness and flitted around her several times trying her best to reassure her. But her moods were as erratic as her flight. Seeing the great bronze half sleeping below them she turned her attention back to the great dragon. She started a quick whirl in the air and decided to start at his tail when she saw it twitching. She took a couple good swirls in the air before making a dive bomb for it. It twitched out of the way and she went for it again. This time locking her little claws into it.

Feronamth felt the scratch as more of a tickle through his thick hide and twitched the tail more to relieve the itch.

The little flit lifted off just in time and then dove at the tail again, which now resembled the tunnel snakes and other crawly creatures she liked to torment. She dove at the tail again and again, calling to her friend to join her.

At first Fellis could only watch in avid curiousity as her newfound friend lunged repeatedly at the great tail. It looked like fun! Summoning up her own courage she dove for the flickering tail. The dragon moved it aside like Kyira tossed her long braid. Fellis's eyes whirled with excitement now. She knew how to catch tossed things like hair. Watch it start to swing... then pop between to where it should be... and cling!! Fellis scrambled to sink her tallons into the tail. This part was not as easy as grasping hair!

Feronamth felt this new attack as an actual attack. His tail stung as little claws dug into it, one of them hitting an old thread scar and cutting in deep. He roared, lashing his tail voilently as he turned to look, wondering what had bitten him while he had been sleeping.

Sisao went between just in time and appeared again above his head, half laughing from how easily the great beast was made upset and half worried as she felt his displeasure. But her mind easily wandered elsewhere, he would be fine, she had done this before.

He swung his tail around to his head to look at the claw marks. There was just a single spot where the skin had been broken. He recognized the claw marks and stood very quickly snapping his head around looking for the little green flit then he bugled his displeasure again calling to his bonded, the little green one is troublsome. He had yet to realize there were now two.

Sisao twirled in quick circles around his head chittering at him.

He snapped at her playfully, as he would not actually harm her intentionally but still wanted her to go away. Then he saw there was another green and rumbled at her to go away as well.

At the dragon's displeasure Fellis squawked in alarm, releasing her hold & falling between momentarily. She reappeared outside the Healer's Barracks; probably the area outside the little green knew the best. Confused, her eyes whirled her emotion as she tried to make sense of what was wrong. Trilling saddly she flew with caution to look at the dragon. Didn't he want to play?
PostPosted: Tue Nov 15, 2005 9:54 pm

Feronamth felt little Fellis' confusion and pain and then very clearly gave her the message that No, I do not wish to play, I wish to sun myself, it is the other that wishes to play.

Sisao flew around his head in lazy circles as if she couldn't hear his message although she could.

He blew warm air at her giving her miniscule thermals to glide on.

She chirruped happily and turned several times floating up and down in the puffs of air he blew at her.

She looked so cute flying there that Feronamth invited the other lizard to join her which Sisao quickly seconded.

Fellis was at first momentarily chargrinned at having upset the dragon, but it was as fleeting as the little firedragon's memory. The beconning of both the very large dragon & her own newly aquired playmate were enough to call her out of what little funk she might have been in & join in the fun. The thermals only added to a plyful urgency. The different temperature of the moving air was practically visible to her instincts. They called to her play-need on a different level. With wild abandon Fellis blinked between directly in front of the dragon's great mouth, glifing gleefully upon the drafts of Feronamth's breath. When the current Fellis rode faded out, she blinked between to do it all over again.

Feronamth laughed at the two firelizards and thought of how they very much looked like dragons floating high in the air. He sent the image to C'tari knowing his bonded would be pleased that he was getting along with the little green. Their two green forms darting too and fro, lifting with wild abandon on the warm air he blew at them.

Sisao would rise as quickly as the thermal would allow her, often flying faster than she could normally, basking in the warmth and speed. When the air abated she would point nose down and dive dramatically until she felt the heat again and then abruptly chage directions. She often mimiced the larger dragons thread fighting pattern, though not because she watched, because it was instinctual above all else.

For a while he played with them and blew at them, but then his hide was itchy and he called to his bonded that a bath and an oiling would be nice.

C'tari laughed out loud from the kitchens and made his way outside the weyr. It was a nice day, he'd oil his dragon outside.

Sisao got the message and called to her friend. The dragon was going to take off, and a new game was at hand. She showed Fellis a picture of the two of them flying behind his great hands, under the belly of the great dragon, in that way, they would have no wind, and would be able to fly just as fast and far as him without getting tired.

Feronamth bid them to get back while he took off, so his downstroke would not tumble the little females through the air, and seeing that they were far enough away, he leapt straight up into the air. His wingtips barely missing the ground as he took off.

Fellis was excited. Popping back inside she crooned to Kyira to come too, her eyes whirling in happy excitement. Seeing that Trader Imurin was busy, the Jouneywoman laughed & conceeded to her little bond's insistance to step out of the weyr.

Half flying, half going between, Fellis drted happily between her new friend & Kyira as the FireLizard led the girl out. This new game promised to be too much fun for the human to stay inside.

Kyira laughed as the tiny green showed her the way. The little one's thoughs were so jumbled that the healer was not sure what they meant. She hoped that what she thought she saw in dome of those images was wrong. How terrible if her little green was bothering a dragon!
