You were a chaser Hypno. You may have opted out but I really don't recall it.
Berz, I think your idea is probably best suited to The Village to be perfectly honest. Feel free to start up a thread like that if you like and others may follow.

Yes Mel, that's why I asked about which members "are" chasers, not "were". I mean, if I still was a chaser I wouldn't be doing my job now, would I? wink
I wonder if Berz has already started on that thread already? I suppose I should check out the sub-forums...

The closed subforum.....
An area to discuss various "places" in both fantasy, myth and in our reality? I would move the Ancients thread to this subforum if we did that.
Such places could include those like: Fangorn Forest from The Lord of the Rings, Atlantis, the Sleeping Forest in Final Fantasy VII, and Stone Henge in the Salisbury Plains (here in the UK - which I need to visit at some point). Not only that, but ideas can be discussed about our own ideas of places that may have been derived from various different locations, whether they're from another author, or in our world from history or myth.
What do you think?
Note: Please don't say things like "we have too many subforums" or "I don't know how to navigate this place because of all the subforums" etc, because quite frankly it doesn't help. All of the subforums were used, but some didn't work so they had the threads removed and have been opened up for new ideas. Additionally, categorising threads within the genre into different subforums stops us from wasting too much time in browsing through a single enormous list, therefore we know the subject areas of each subforum.

i really like that a lot smile discussions about reality would be cool to also try to engage it in our fantasy writings and see what other places are really out there in our own reality -blah i dont think i make much sense - but i love the idea.

I guess part of this idea came from the New Novelist 2 software I now have. You can create places on it and give it a detailed description, and there's also an option for you to add a picture showing what kind of place it is and what you liken that place to.
For example, I have a large canyon and likened it to the Grand Canyon, and so gave it a picture of the Grand Canyon. Another example is a misty forest, so I find a picture of a forest thick with mist and use that.
Like I said before, we can talk about actual places in our world, and the mythological aspects tied to them, or our own places in our writing our just out of interest that may or may not be enchanted in some way. Etc etc.... Speculate!

I'm liking that idea also Mel. I already have a couple of places of my own to talk about like a fantastic forest in one of my fantasy adventure stories.
I must say that I barely remember the sleeping forest from FFVII but I can always go to wikipedia to refresh my memory. 3nodding That software sounds cool! Did you buy it online or at a store near you?

The New Novelist software I was told was very good. So, when my brother asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I suggested that and he did get it for me. I don't know where he got it from, but you can get it online. I have the second and more improved version. It doesn't do miraculous things for you, but it helps to put things in perspective and helps you to organise your writing.
So you both like the idea? Ok, well I'll see if I can think of a few topics to start off with and I'll add it. That is unless anyone has any objections. I'm still trying to think of a name for it though...

I have an idea Suma, bit it will free up yet another subforum here. The RP Hall is in disarray, and wondered if we should make World of Cai the sister guild for RP purposes?

You know, that idea sounds good but we should consult with the members who used the RP Hall a lot more than I did. At least those are my two cents... mrgreen

Have you seen the RP Hall. There have been no posts since October last year (roughly). Why consult people when they have damn well use the place? They could always move their threads to World of Cai if Suma wanted to do that.

It might be worth doing, I just need someone to wipe the RP Hall really.
If I'm not writing, I'm doing research or my assignments for writing. If I'm not doing either of those, I'm doing my work for the Certificate in Interpersonal Skills for Volunteers home learning course. If I'm not doing that I'm jobsearching, or I'm just not online at the time and am watching tv or playing videogames.

Well, if moving those threads to another guild is as easy as moving them from sub-forum to sub-furum, then I could do it. I could also get rid of every thread there if they can't be moved to another guild. I'm just saying cuz I have no idea if moving threads from guild to guild is even possible. I suppose I'll look into it... mrgreen

The threads can't be moved from guild to guild. All the RPs in the RP Hall should be deleted as nobody has been using them whatsoever.
From what You and Eoforgar said on my Facebook profile earlier, you can look around the guild and flag up any threads that you think might be completely and utterly useless if you want to.
Following that, the two subforums will need to be given successful topics to deal with. Suma liked the idea of the having an area in which to discuss all fantasy, mythological and inspirational places (fictional or real), but I have no idea on a name yet. As for what the vacant RP Hall can then be used for, I have no idea as yet.
