I pulled the flower carefully out of the ground and set it in my pack. I really hoped it was the right one!

My spirits were set high as we continued on. After finding the first flower, I knew it was possible to find the second. My back was still a bit sore, but otherwise I was feeling wonderful.

About 2 hours after finding the flower, Nashi and I decided to take a break and have a bite to eat. Nashi searched for a berry bush, eventually finding one, and I got out my sandwich. Life was great.

After finishing lunch, Nashi flew into the sky instead of walking. She was getting quite good at it (although she had never really been bad at it, either...). I knew how terrible and depressed she would be after her wings were gone, but I tried not to think about it. Instead I just told myself how happy she was at the moment, and that as long as she was happy, I should be happy. It didnt work.

Nashi was careful not to stray from my sight. After all, she knew how upset and worried I got when I didnt know where she was. I got very sick of running to keep up with her, so I just jumped into the air and flapped my wings. It was no use. No matter how much I practiced, I would always have a hard time flying. I did a few unitentional flips in the sky, then dropped several feet before gaining my balance. I flew up beside Nashi and gave her an akward smile.

She smiled brightly back at me and twisted her body gracefully in the air to do a beautiful spiral. She was truly happy at that moment. Truly, purely happy.

That night, we both fell asleep looking at the stars. I pointed a few consillations out to her, and she took in the information graciously. We fell asleep there; under the starry sky.

Tuesday, September 3

I woke again, this time feeling more awake than the day before. I looked around the area for Nashi (knowing that she must have rolled off somewhere) and found her sleeping in a patch of yellow flowers. "Oh Nashi," I said happily. "Always have to roll in your sleep." As I gazed at her, I suddenly realized what I was looking at. Nashi, of course, but it was what she was laying on that was startling. Yellow flowers! And not only yellow flowers, but yellow flowers with pink thorns! I ran up to Nashi and shook her awake. She blinked at me and gave me a 'what the heck?' look.

"Nashi! Look what you're laying on!" She looked down, and her eyes got extrememly large. "You're our hero, girl! Good job!" I hugged her neck happily.

After we put the flower into the pack with the other, we prepared to head back. It had been a fun journey, but we were both ready to be home. I gave Nashi another hug and compliment on her awesome finding skills before leaping into the air, my wings flapping hard.

We arrived back at the faerie city, our smiles lighting up the whole place. It was a wonderful feeling, knowing that you just saved someones life. The queen buzzed out of the castle and fluttered before us.

"You were sucssesful, then?" I nodded.

"Yep. As sucsessful as one can be!" I reached into my pack and took out the two flowers. "Are these the ones?" She flew to my hand and rested on my figertips. Her small, purple eyes scanned the flowers for a while, and then she looked back up at me.

"Yes, those are the ones. If you would please bring them this way..." She flew up to a larger-than-normal cucoon and dissappeared inside. I followed, although I couldnt quite fit into the opening... whee .

As I peered inside, my eye covering the whole entrance, I saw that the pink fae was lying on a tiny cot, her family surrounding her. The queen was whispering quickly to them, and they listened intently. She turned my way. "You can put them inside." I pulled away from the hole and carefully pushed the flowers through. High pitched gasps were heard from inside. I guessed that they had never seen such beautiful flowers before. I regained my position at my peep-hole. The queen flicked her hand at the flowers, and they turned into a liquid in a clear vile. She put the vile to the fae's lips, and instantly she was awake and well.

I decided to leave the family to their own. I glided back down to the ground, next to Nashi, and told her the good news. She smiled, proud of her hard work. "We did pretty good, huh?" She nodded.

The queen came floating to us with a half-full vile. "You may take this with you. It has extrememly powerful healing essence." I took it and slipped it into my pocket.

"Thanks. Hey, can we visit you guys again?" She smiled.

"You have helped us like nobody has ever helped us before. With those flowers, I can make a year''s worth of healing potion. I am forever grateful. You may visit us any time you would like. As another gift..." She flicked her hand once more, and a second vile appeared in her hand. "This is for the equine. It will... give her the power to make flowers grow. I can't be sure if her appearence will change."

I eyed the potion uneasily. "Would it make her deformed or something?" I asked.

"A faerie potion? Make something deformed? Heveans, no! I mean markings or something of the sort." She laughed. "I would never give a changeling something so terrible as to make them deformed!"

I let out a breath of relief. "Alright. She can have it." Nashi took the vile from the fae in her jaws and gulped it down. There was no immediate change. "Maybe it will take awhile." I said to Nashi, for she was looking herself over. "I dont know. But try making a flower grow." She concentrated on a grassy patch, and slowly, painfully, a dull and drooping flower emerged from the soil

"It's... a flower," I said halfheartedly. "You'll get better, I'm sure."

Nashi went up to it and tested it with her hoove. It was real, alright. She whinnied a thanks to the queen.

"Well, I think we have to go home now. We''re both pretty tired..."

"Yes, I understand," the queen sighed. "Do have a good journey!" I waved a final goodbye and started walking home. I couldnt wait to see what Nashi could do.

Nashi's potion:

The sky started to darken as we approached home. Black clouds thundered and lightning could be seen in the distance. Nashi was very skittish.

"Its ok, girl! Relax!" I said as she practiaclly crawled up my back. "Its just a storm!" It was no use. As a loud crack sounded, she whinnied in fear and galloped up the beach to the barn. Rain started to poar. I jogged up to the house and slammed the door behind me. Aaliya was perched on the coat rack.

"Nice to see you home. What took so long?" She was quite dry, unlike me, who was completely soaked.

"The faerie queen sent us on a quest. I guess it just took longer than I thought it would." I told her about everything that had happened, and ended with the part about Nashi drinking that strange substance.

"Odd," replied Aaliya, "that such a potion can have such startling and immediate effects..."

"And that's not all," I added. "The queen also said that it might give her markings or alter her appearence. I'm kinda worried though, I mean, about how it will alter her."

"And you have a right to be. Changelings can be changed in many ways." Aaliya flew to the window and looked down at the barn. I followed. A light shone in the window.

"I guess we'll just have to wait and see," I said. "But for now, i'm going to bed."

Wednesday, September 4

I woke up early in the morning, about 4 am, feeling something was out of place. I searched the whole house, but nothing was different or missing. But when I looked out of the window, I saw Nashi standing on the beach, staring at the sky. You see, in the sky was a double rainbow, and both were full arches. The reflection shimmered on the water. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.

I grabbed a coat and ran down the hill to stand by Nashi. She was sitting in a cirlcle of flowers which I guessed she had created.

"Its really pretty..." I said, but Nashi had that look on her face... that look of pure happiness I had seen before. I tiptoed away to let her watch the rainbow in peace.

Well, at least Nashi is happy for now. Her wings will wear off soon, as will mine, and I just know how sad she will be. The rainbow lasted for hours. I kept waiting for it to dissappear so that I could coach Nashi on her abilities, but that rainbow was so stubborn. Aaliya asked me about my wings finially. I knew she couldnt hold it back forever. I explained, and she replied with a snort.

I dont care. I think they're pretty.

I think i'll have Nashi work on my garden. It's a mess. I told Aaliya do do everything she could with it (although her ability to tend to a garden is somewhat limited) while I was gone, but it got drowned by the storm last night. Nashi's new power is going to come in handy. I was sort of hoping that she would have the wind element, but I guess I just can't control those things. Anywho, I guess her love of flying makes up for that. I just love her so much! *superflyingtacklepounce* heart heart heart

I decided to combine the helping Nashi with her powers and tending to the garden into one. I think i'll have Nashi practace her powers by growing elaborately beautiful flowers here and there, and that way my garden will be beautiful, yet Nashi's powers will be practaced up! Im such a genius sometimes!

Gardening was awesome! Nashi doesnt really need help with her flower-producing, or at least Aaliya says. She was able to produce any kind of flower I told her to. My garden looks very... lets just say colorful. But seriously, I really do like it. The only strange thing is that Nashi hasnt gotten any markings from the potion yet. Odd. Well, I think i'll have Nashi decorate a few more things. Ill write later!

Here are some flowers that she created:

Jimbo sighed mink had told him to go for a walk to clear his head so he had decided to follow the path down to the HQ.
He looked up and Saw a garden filled with colourful flowers.
~I wonder who lives here?~ he thought walking up the path towards the house.

Nashi looked out out of the barn window. She had heard hooves outside. She pushed open the stall door, and galloped out of the barn to investigate.

Upon seeing Jimbo, she stopped in her tracks. She had never seen another changeling. Her mind told her to run, but her legs would just not move. Small red flowers popped up under her feet. Her mind was racing with strange thoughts, and her powers had released themselves.
