Kairha burst into the clearing the batlle the demons and Angel had made. She saw Ingarhaad counter the angel's attack. Who was that Demoness with him?, she wondered. Either way, she unbelted her whip and lashed out at the angel. Even though it would not harm him, she could at least distract the Angel so that the other demos could launch another attack.

"You have left much uncertain in this 'deal'," said Kaki as if annoyed, "Who will receive the book once the battle is fought. It shall be us. I don't think that you would do this without profit, however, especially sense you have your own reasons to get the book. You must make a better deal!"

Zirikia turned to see the other demoness, smirking slightly, hissing the thrill of the fight taking her over "Tell me angel, did you think, tonight would be your last?" She yelled while launching into the air, bringing her sais down, lashing into the angel again, hoping that he wouldn't counter-attack, she would be thrown of balance.

The angel's spear struck Ingarhaad. It pierced through his arm, pinning him to the ground. The large demon howled in pain as he attempted to pull the shaft out of his flesh. The spear burned his hand as he gripped it. The sigils on Ingarhaad's armor glowed and crackled like the embers of a fire, their power doing it's best to keep the hulking demon from being destroyed by the holy weapon.
The spear ripped from Ingarhaad's arm, tearing fleshand searing tissue as it was removed. Slowly, the mangled hole began to close up, regenerating from the massive damage. Bariest felt a hard whip at it's feet, the angel looked down to see Kairha standing with a whip in one hand, and the Book in the other. Immediately the angel began to dive at her, but was caught again by the leaping Zirikia. The angel fell to the floor instead, landing not too far from his intended target, Kairha. "Give me the book...", Bariest reached out with his wouded arm. The disease had begun to fester, skin blackened and drooped from bile laced muscles. The angels arm began to wither and die, black tendrils climbing onto the rest of it's body like a quick spreading cancer.------------------------------------------- Kaki Pan "You have left much uncertain in this 'deal'," said Kaki as if annoyed, "Who will receive the book once the battle is fought. It shall be us. I don't think that you would do this without profit, however, especially sense you have your own reasons to get the book. You must make a better deal!" "Suit yourself. But you will not make it in time on your own. All I offer is a shortcut, I can provide this and nothing else. After we passs into the midst of battle, we are enemies again. Even if you did emerge with the book, I'd pefer it to a worse outcome. At least in your possession, I could stand to steal it , I could not if it was returned to a Demon Lord.". The grey demon waited impatiently, eying the distance where the fight ensued.

"Come on, now," said Ryuko, "You gotta be joking me. This is war. And in war, we have no alligeance. Come on, now Kaki. We can't waste anymore time."

"He is finally making sense Ryoko. We won't make until they have passed out of this world. He can take us through the shadows. I have read this several times. There is no way for him to use this to kill us. I shall take this offer. Are you coming to Ryoko? I could use you if he does have a trick and then when we have arrived at the battle."

Viellen nodded at the two. "Then follow...". The grey demon stepped through the shadow, the darkness immersing him like a dark pool of water. Ryuko and Kaki followed.
The feeling was cold and alien. Passing through a worl looking out from the shadows instead of at them from without. Eventually, the trio came to an opening very close to the swamp. Viellen stopped. "Here. This is as far as I take you. I am not a warrior, and will bear no closer movement.", He waited for the two to pass through then added. "And do not think to try and kill me while you still stand in darkness, lest you remain in it without one to open the shadows."
Just a short distance away, the demons had overwhelmed bariest, ripping into the dying angel with ravenous fervor. Light bled into the soil, streams of white embers sputtering from the gashes of it's fallen body.
Bariest cried out, an echo of agony ringing out over a vast distace. It was not dead yet, but very soon to be. The demons had become steeled, replenishing themselves on the whisps of angelic essence.

Zirikia looked on the angel, a broad and sadastic smirk running over her naturally purple tinted lips. She looked to the demoness who had arrived, then the book. It wasn't her concern, her master didn't want it, not yet anyway. She turned to Ingarhaad, looking directly at the huge demon. "Ar you going to be okay?" She mocked a little, yet she was a little concerned. Suddenly the pain from her leg set in and she had to smirk, she was strange, she liked pain, even though it was burning with a firece heat and blood ran down her leg.

"You helped us. I will not kill you now," remarked Kaki stepping out of the shadow into the living world again. He saw the battle that was going on. "The angel is near dead. This is good indeed for we could not have killed him. I can, however take on any demon," he said to Ryoko.
Kaki then started running towards the swamp. He stopped and shouted to the largest demon, "Why seek you the Book? Fight me and I shall slay you! For the book belongs to our guild!" Then Kaki pulled out his sword, the one most hated by demons. It shown bright with light that clearly cut through the dark shadows surrounding them.

Ingarhaad took note of the small elf that approched the edge of the swamp. Kaki He stopped and shouted to the largest demon, "Why seek you the Book? Fight me and I shall slay you! For the book belongs to our guild! Then Kaki pulled out his sword, the one most hated by demons. It shown bright with light that clearly cut through the dark shadows surrounding them." After swallowing down the last of the angel's vapor, Ingarhaad answered him. "I do not ssseek the book, fool! It isss my massster that claimsss it. It could not possibly belong to your...guild. That texssst iss well over 2000 yearsss old."Ingarhaad hefted his weapon onto his shoulder once more. His damaged arm had almost completey healed. "I think you will be sssurprized, mortal, at what you think you know of demonsss. I am no messsanger, I am my massstersss champion. Hissstory will not tell you of the demon warriorsss that have not walked this plane for well over six hundred yearsss!" He then slammed his great iron plank into the earth, opening a jagged fissure, it's cracks reaching out in every direction. Noxious fumes began to rise from the dank depths, not poisonous but rancid enough to sting the eyes and ovewhelm the olfactory sense to nausea. Ingarhaad had gladly accepted the challenge. He did not think in the slightest that he might lose, but that did not matter. Even if he was utterly destroyed, he would eventually be respawned in the black pits once again. Such was the advantage of the manifest of sin. All he need concern himself with was letting the book pass to his master, nothing more.

Kairha had gotten their in time to help, in the small way her actions did. Now, however, she needed to open the bridge. If Ingarhaad and Zirikia could distract the assailents for enough time, she could easily pass into her home realm. She clutched the book tightly and ducked into the foliage. " You, Demoness!", she shouted to Zirikia, "Distract the rouge!", she referrred to Ryuko, the rouge demon.

"Demons always underestimate me. I am not a mortal. I am an Elf. I am well over 2000 years of age and have been to the underworld numerous of times. I was the lead Captain of the Republic Army who lead the raids in your world. I am Kaki Pan wielder of Aries & Athena. They are the cause of your demise!" he yelled as he ran and jumped into the air towards the demon. His sword grew even brighter as he plunged it into the demon, missing all vital organs, yet it still caused immense burning.

Ingarhaad yanked back hard, pulling away from the stabbing attack with such force that Kaki's sword was left stuck in his knotted muscles. He gnashed his teeth and let out a howling roar. After stumbling back, he slowly pulled the sword from out of himself. "...And mortalsss ssseem to think that they are more than they really are! Asss far asss I am conssserned... an elf isss mortal. You age and you die... like all other wretched breedsss!"With that, he hurled the sword far behind him. It landed in the distant muck and rotting plants of the swamp. "A mortal and a liar! There hasss never been a breach into the Hellsss, asss sssure asss there hasss never been a sssucssssesssful campaign into the sscelessstial kingdom. The Everwar hasss only been fought on thisss realm and the plane of sssoulsss sssince before thisss world even began it'sss pathetic exssissstansse." He clutched the wound that had nearly severed his arm entirely. He was greatly weakened but still stood his ground, his giant weapon now switched to his good, armored hand. He would not be surprized again.
As he lectured, the vapors that had risen from the fissure had begun to fill the lungs of Ingarhaad's assailants. Ryuko would be unnaffected. Kaki however, would begin to feel a horrible stinging itch at his eyes and would have to cover his mouth and nose if he wished to avoid retching from the phospherous odor.
Viellen had seen his chance to single out the demoness Kairha. He followed her, loping through shadows to remain undetected. He need only wait till she began to open the Bridge of Planes. He'd then attack her quickly and take the book from the infernal messenger.

"The Everwar? I am not familiar with that, and even though the raids I lead did not reach your world, we did make it as far as the Second Great Plane, which is considered the Underworld. It seemed to worry your boss a bit if I can remember correctly," he said as he slowly and unalarmingly walked towards the location he thought his sword to be. After it left his hands the light started to dwindle. "Perhaps, Ryoko, you can enlighten us on this 'war'."

She'd found it, the Bridge to the Infernal Realm. Or at least the spot for it. She could still hear the faint clash of battle a little means away. Hopefully the other two would hold everyone off long enogh for her to draw the symbols to open the portal.
Kairha closed her eyes, she began to move her thin fingers in the air, traceing the ancient runes. A small crackle of fire started to form an ellipse that hovered above the ground.
