There are several reasons to ban inactive members. Here are just a few of them:
1. Some people simply aren't interested in Gaia anymore, but didn't bother to quit their guilds before they left.
2. Some people stumble across the guild and join so that they won't loose track of it, plan to come back later and check it out, and never do.
3. Some people come to the guild, post for one day, and then just never come back.
Of course, those are just a couple reasons. But you know what I mean.

It's important to get ban inactive members. It's like if you have a house that has a very old coat of paint on it. Well, the house starts looking not that great with that old, peeling paint. So you peel it off, leaving the wood below, and that leaves room for new paint that will make the house look really good.

It's the same principle. We ban people who aren't penguins in anything but name to make room for the people who really do want to be penguins. Yes, there is room for both, but we don't really need the inactive members. They don't do anything, you see? If a guild banned me for inactiveness, and yes it has happened several times, I don't feel mad or hurt. I just think, "Yes, they had a point in doing that" and move on.
