Seeing little response to her request Manny ran to the stereo herself, pushing buttons until she got it to play her one of her favorite stations. At the moment it was playing Jingle Bell Rock, and with a smile she danced her way back to Riley, offering the girl her hand. "Can I have the first dance?" She asked cheesily, looking sidelong at Harper for some sarcastic remark.

Melchy grinned at Chris, and then at Keres, who had obviously decided exactly the same thing as Melchy had: that Chris was just about the coolest thing he'd ever seen. But seriously, he was!! "How's your trees?" he asked. "All the needles on mine is falling off," he added.
Katrina raised an eyebrow at Sunny's muttering but said nothing, just looked mildly concerned for a moment. When Mikael replied to her, she nodded. "Ah," she said, not entirely sure how else to respond, then just shrugged. "It's regulated attire where I come from," she said with a shrug, and then looked over at Runeh. "I'm Katrina Chandler. Nice to meet another one of you," she said pleasantly, nodding her head to him and then glancing over at the line of shot glasses.
"Thank you," she said to Sunny, absolutely genuine, and shook her head. "I don't get drunk," she said, then picked up one of the glasses and tossed the vodka back. "Drinking to excess is not a habit of mine," she admitted after a suitable moment to appreciate the liquor. "Odd as that is coming from a pirate."
She glanced over at the flash of yellow-white that was Harper and tilted her head. He was getting big, wasn't he?

There were so many ways to answer that might have been clever or whitty. But Riley was never really one to beat around the bush, for the most part. At least not when she was eager to get going. "Heck yes," she murmured, taking Manny's hand and adding before turning her in a joking twirl, "You had to ask?"
"Don't worry," Runeh said with a sly smile to Sunny as he took a glass, "Kai never drinks so he can always drive." He motioned to the man in the elf suit before taking a sip.

Keres sat quietly - for probably the first time in her life - and just kinda listened for a moment before she had to ask. "Tree? Needles?" She was confused. Did everyone get some special tree or... what?
Anya just shook her head as she took up a glass. "Walked," she stated plainly before looking over to Katrina. "I think it's up to the men to get drunk out of their minds. ... or at least that's how it normally was where I'm from." She shrugged and then basically downed her little glass.

"Broke," Chris said a bit mournfully. His voice was so expressive that that one word showed just how disappointing that was to him. "Fake one." In other words his parents had had to replace his back scratcher already.

”Oh no!” Melchy said, genuine sorrow in his voice. “That’s too bad! Cap’n says ours’ll dead soon,” he said sadly. Then he glanced at Keres, noticed that she seemed confused, and decided to clarify. “We gots Chrismas trees!” he said brightly. “Pointy green, for Chrismas! You gots one?” he asked.
Katrina chuckled and nodded to Anya. “Up to the men t’make fools of themselves,” she said, raised a second glass as a toast, and then drained that one. And made no move to drink anything else.
Vodka was strong, and Katrina Chandler wasn’t stupid.

Kisala giggled, "'Cause I spend most of my time at the Temple," she said. No, she didn't know 'Rosie', she shrugged as the boy's attention went back to the older kid.
"I'm Kisala, not Rosie," she corrected, though, "or Kisa, maybe, if you want."
Shiori smiled, "He's cute. I'm afraid Kisala and I don't really get out that much, I don't know any of the children here, really.."

Harper grinned at Manny and Riley, putting his hands on his hips, "Might as well step on her feet Manny, she's all monstrous and bound to be boring now. Just look what you're wearing Riley! You NEVER would of worn that before! Wow, I hope that never happens to me.." He ended, putting his hands over his chest where abouts Riley's boobs were on her. He glanced sidelong back to Kisala and shimmied back over, "I'd ask Antony but he's stupid and never does anything fun - wanna dance, Kisala?" He asked, smiling giddily. He had no clue what he was doing other than he didn't want to be left out.

Keres could only shake her head. "No tree." Actually, the sphinx-child didn't even know what the heck Christmas was, let alone why someone would need, or want, an actual pointy green tree. "What's it for?" She asked, innocently enough.
Anya chuckled when Katrina did, but unlike her friend, she poured more of the booze into her glass. Vodka do her in? Ha, that was a funny one. The Sven had been drinking stuff stronger than Vodka for over 50 years.

"Pah!" Riley made a rude gesture at Harper with her left hand. "I already explained that bit! I'm getting paid to wear this...can't say you'd ever be so lucky!" She called, looking rather miffed. There were certain things that obviously hadn't changed about her; her attitude was one of them. Didn't he get it? She wouldn't normally wear this...and the worst part of it was the skirt anyway, and she got to wear pants under that. So there! It was about time he learned that ginger bread cookies could buy just about anything.

"Hmph," Carlisle said, disappointed. "Know you're 'Sala." He supposed that if Kisa was good, Sala would be good too. Not like he was sure, but risks were okay. Like climbing up trees! And slides! But now he was sulking at Harper for running off, so he gripped Kisala's hand again.
Lixxie smiled. "Thank you. Kisala is a beautiful girl. Carlisle and I only know Harper- the boy with yellow and white hair."

Melchy's brow furrowed when Keres asked him about Christmas. He wasn't entirely sure what it had to do with anything, to be perfectly honest. Presumably, it had something to do with trees and strange men in red suits, but that was only a vague idea, and he wasn't entirely sure.
"Cap'n," he said falteringly, "Cap'n, she say that you get stuff un'er trees?" he ventured, looking over at Chris for confirmation. He wasn't sure what exactly he was saying, and he didn't want to say anything wrong and get made fun of. He wasn't about to make himself look stupid, especially not in front of lots of company.
He cast around briefly, and his gaze settled on another child who was about the same size as him (not the same size as Keres and Chris, but they were biiiiiiig.
"HI!" he called out enthusiastically over the noise, waving furiously to try and attract Carlisle's attention. "HI!" he added, just in case Carlisle hadn't heard the first time.

"Back scratch," Chris said knowledgeably, miming it with one huge hand raising up. That was what his had been for! It had worked really well, too, until it had broken.
"Excuse me," Antony said as he looked around. "Has--oh, there--" Crud, the kid looked like he had run into friends. That meant getting him out any time soon would be a problem.
So he turned to the nearest person, uncaring who they were and bowed slightly. "Would you care for a dance?"

Keres gave a sidelong glance at some random people before she turned her attention back to Chris and Mel... or, well, more to Chris since she had decided to ignore Melchy after he had started flailing his arms around.
"So it a uh... back scratch and thing that gives presents?" Damn, she needed one of those, then. Who didn't want something that gave you gifts?! The child made a mental note to ask The Rabbits about getting one later. "You get any gifts yet, Chris?" she asked suddenly. (Have to make sure the thing actually works, ya know.)

Kisala giggled at Harper, "Oh, I don't know how to dance, is it a lot like fighting?" she asked. Glancing down at Carlisle, who'd grabbed her hand, she made to lift the little boy up just as she'd seen Harper holding him-- kids liked that, right?
"Well, then why'd you call me Rosie if you know I'm 'Sala, then?" She asked him.
