Jasmine had observed the group, along with the rest of the room attentively, trying to find something to spark her interest as she waited for the others to finish their conversation of their powers. Looking over her shoulder she noticed that a couple of adults had been grouped together, and a flying pencil hovering far above ground- what? The silent girl rubbed her eyes, hoping that she was just hallucinating. She turned back to the group, hoping to catch a little more conversation than to think about what could've caused a pencil to float.
The girl gave the twin an odd stare before going to her book. “Ah! I'm sorry... I'm Jasmine.” She wrote on the same page, giving Kaden the book to read. She looked him and his brother over, wondering what kind of power they possessed and what sort of personality they had. And since she wasn't going to try asking the other over so she could write them both into submission, since she focused her attention on the one in front of her.

Erol growled softly in playful warning, "And you're too fulll of yourself, bro." Bro? Where the hell did that come from? Shrugging he yanked his arm away, about to retort but his attention went back to Lo Quinn. This guy was starting to really piss him off.
Placing a hand on his hip, Erol's interest suddenly on Lo Quinn. "So clearance to you means you're better than us, is that it?" Erol asked siddling over to an adjacent wall. Leaning against it he happened to notice Jasmine but her attention was on something else. Ignoring Lo Quinn his attention followed Jasmine's line of sight noting the floating pencil. A smirk came to his lip...
He didn't know anyone to have telekinetic abilities, unless one of the new kids did. He didn't think the twins were it, and already knew Jasmine was out of the question. Which left Lo Quinn. But he knew better, Candice was missing and he didn't see her leave the room. Bingo.
Hmm maybe they could have some fun. Throw the others off about his powers. That would be fun.. he wondered if Candice were looking at him as he made a slight twitch of his head, indicating his want for her to toss the pencil at Lo Quinn.

o O (Candice doesn't really care if she get's into trouble, she isn't hurting anyone *snickers*)
It was all Candice could do not to laugh out loud as she first saw the smaller girl glance across at her with a puzzled expression before turning away. Her confusing was all she needed to prove that she had managed to stay invisible. Though it was Erol's glance towards her that almost broke her subterfuge. She took a peek over the back of the chair at the other kid he had been chatting with and gathered the one plus one and got two. Tossing her pencil into the air, she caught it and then gently lobbed it over her head towards Erol and the kid. If he didn't catch it then it would probably land right on LoQuinn's shoulder. This would definitely be interesting to see his reaction.

"Jasmine. Nice to meet you." Kaden smiled and bobbed his head in greeting. His attention was mostly on the girl before him, so he missed the flying pencil. His twin, however, had not missed it, especially as it flew from nowhere towards LoQuinn.
Keagan's attention had been mostly on the other boys nearby, until that pencil stunt. He glanced around, trying to figure out who'd done that. Seemed like something that annoying blond haired boy would do, especially since he'd been going on about how he wasn't allowed to use his powers... He didn't think it was the quiet girl, seeing how she seemed to be talking more to Kaden than focusing...

A thin smile spread itself across his face. Their replies to his questions garnered him an opinion on their personalities. Each person viewed their powers in a different light, had a different take on their roles and importance. LoQuinn understood the importance his powers would have in his everyday life and so if it made him look like a cocky show off so be it.
He let out a thoughtful noise thinking as to how he would answer Erol's question. The boy was looking past him, a touch rude but then again manners hadn't seemed a high priority since the beginning of their introduction. "Better isn't exactly the word I'd use. Some people get clearance and others don't. It's simply a matter of controlling the dangerous aspects of your powers. The more dangerous they are the less likely you're able to freely use them."
The boy gave a motion with his head. A moment later he felt a gentle tap on the back of his shoulder as a #2 pencil bounced to the floor. LoQuinn would have glared venomously if he knew it would have been seen. His thin smile lost it's edges for a moment and the small cement fleck rotated a little faster than before.
The smile returned a second later larger than before, he'd been looking for another person who could use their mind in a similar fashion as his. His mind rolled happily at the thought of a worthwhile training partner. "You a kinetic as well? Or does your power simply involve school supplies?"

“Ah, so your name is Jasmine, too?” She gave an airy, voiceless laugh at her own joke, showing the paper to the boy. The girl had not noticed the boy walk over since she had her mind on the pencil, so she couldn't tell which one of the twins were talking to her. Her track of thought, however, shifted back to the pencil when she saw the very same one being flung at Graveler. Hearing his reply, she guessed that he had suspected the blond boy who had taken her notebook, though her mind was on someone else. When she had arrived, the other two boys were grouped with a red-haired girl, who had vanished from the room at that moment. Instead of jumping to conclusions, she wrote back to Kaden. “Hey... Wasn't there another girl here a while ago?”

He watched ‘The Graveler’ with a great deal of interest. “So, now you’re saying that we can’t control our powers?” Raleigh asked, eyebrow quirked quizzically. Of course he knew that wasn’t what the guy was saying but he felt like having a bit of fun, and that meant prodding at LoQuinn until he got a reaction he liked.
From his position Raleigh had a good view of everything that was going on. He watched with a smirk as the pencil soared through the air to hit LoQuinn on the shoulder.

At the Gravler's reaction, Erol was not entirely prepared. He stood straighter, looking around for a breif moment before blinking at Gravler, "School supplies? Kinetic? Wha?! Huh, yeah whatever, man... just don't hump my leg." He spoke with an unsettling tone before leaning firmly against the wall, his arms crossed serving as a buffer against the other boy's intrigue of his abilities. "Look it was the only think I could think to shut you up. So what's the fascination with powers anyway? You on a power trip or something?"

Kaden chuckled as he read Jasmine's paper. "Nope, luckily. I'm Kaden," he glanced back at the paper as the girl wrote something else then shrugged. "I dunno. I haven't really met anyone here before... and I didn't look that closely..." He was guessing that she didn't mean Susan, because the boy could see her over towards where she'd been earlier.
Keagan lifted an eyebrow towards LoQuinn. "What's your problem, dude? You think you're superior to us because you're showing off and we choose not to?" The more hot-tempered of the twins was tempted to have his fist get acquainted with the irritating boy's face.

Things were getting harsh. Perhaps there was more than one reason he'd chosen to isolate himself. However he didn't think apologies were in order. He'd given a minute demonstration and he took his powers seriously. If they didn't share his commitment then that was their problem, not his.
He turned his head scanning across the people who were talking to him before settling back on Erol. It was a pointed glance, targeting those his comment was intended for. "Didn't know you lot had such thin skin." They could take it how they pleased, which would have undoubtedly been as an insult. Come to think about it if they were taking even his well intentioned comments as personal attacks it was highly unlikely they'd see this as something different. Bah! He didn't really care if he liberally stepped on some toes.
Ignoring the first string of words to come out of Erol's mouth LoQuinn focused on the question about powers, the only thing that really needed to be said. "A person's powers tell a lot about them. I'm looking for another kinetic. Someone who uses their mind to manipulate other things." Would there really be a need to connect all the dots?

Erol wasn't exactly the brightest crayon in the box but he tried. Realizing what Gravler was getting at he sighed. Having a little fun was one thing but out right deceiving someone unfairly was not his cup of tea. "I see. Well for what its worth I'm not a kinetic." He said pushing off the wall. "Lets just say I have an imaginary friend." He said patting Gravler on the back. "And my skin is tougher than you'll ever know..." He gave the boy a lopsided grin allowing him to reclaim his personal space.
"Anyway relax, there's nothing I meant by what I said. I just don't like it if I'm not taken seriously. Reasons for not showing off, should be obvious enough, my powers will cause damage even with the slightest display. And perhaps I'm not yet in complete control of them... more or less even if I were in control of them I wouldn't hold myself back." He shrugged. Honesty was his strong point, he didn't like shady people and being one of them was definately out of the question. "Anyway, I see you're excitement. But aren't most Evo's kinetic to some degree? We have to use our minds to find the 'switch' that allows us to use our powers... wouldn't you say that is moving something with one's mind?" At this point he was taking on a serious demeanor finding a slight interest in Gravler now that Erol had gotten past his ego-trip.

((Apologies for cutting in ahead of anyone who was (if they were) planning on making a post in order or something. Feel free to PM me if you need me to edit/delete this in any way.))
Finally he was breaking through the ice he'd seemed to run aground on. He focused on Erol and his words. Mainly he was concerned with the fact that he wasn't a kinetic. LoQuinn wasn't a big stickler for personal space and he was hardly up in arms over the tension, he figured that within the walls of the NSA he was probably safer than he ever had been, or would be on the outside. Besides he doubted he'd offended anyone that grievously.
LoQuinn gave a satisfied grunt as Erol explained himself. He didn't need to argue over the little things like who had the tougher skin or the worse life. He was interested more in how simply Erol had explained that he wouldn't hold himself back. It would be a question saved for another time when prying into his personal life wouldn't spill the contents across so many ears.
"Most of the time yes. I'd wager that almost all of our abilities require some sort of mental equivalent of flexing a bicep or wiggling a toe. But clearly theres a difference between turning it on and off and being able to manipulate it. I'm referring to 'shapers', people who sculpt with their mind and can vary the details more than that simple on, off. Sure at it's basic level I simply move clumps of mineral around but it's more than that, the stone speaks to me. Not a voice, but something more."
His goal wasn't to drone, but rather to express the idea he had no real understanding of. How could LoQuinn really describe a sensation when the only difference had been those dire few minutes in the Rocky Mountains? Even then he could only describe it as something missing, not a hole in his being but rather an uncomfortable quiet. He felt whole
"Another kinetic would challenge my control. Think of it as resistance training for the mind, for my powers. Other abilities require endurance, keeping that switch from going off. Mine will take more than that, strength as well as stamina. The only reason I'm going through training is to build up my abilities. With another kinetic in the training room five minutes would do more good than a thousand revolutions with pebbles. So pardon me if I seemed a bit, over eager. I'd just like my first mission to not end with me getting killed horribly."
He looked down at his wrist finding that the 'half hour or so' that had been announced was coming to an end.

LET ME REMIND EVERYONE: You are NOT actually in the room, most of you aren't, some might be, but you're in a hologram. If you USE your powers, there is very LIKELY a safety device that makes it not actually affect the hologram world... What has been used thus far is fine, because those items were brought in with you, but if Erol tries to use his powers, for example, it's going to rumble HIS place, not this one. Echo's powers might not work here, actually, for the same reasons. It likely wouldn't travel, but it sure would affect her surroundings. wink Remember you're at HOME, using a holographic device and how this might affect things. I didn't actually intend for others to be able to touch anyone else, because..well, they're holograms... but we can make Jim's invention super life like for the sake of RP interest. But Jim does reserve the right to make it just hologram images again if he feels the need for it.
Ace bobbed up and down where he was. He'd had his attention split between listening to Susan hiss at Charles and the various conversations, so he hadn't joined in anything, but now this was too amusing to pass up.
Ace jumped up, standing on his chair, and then crashed himself on top of the place where he knew Candice had to be. He laughed heartily and locked his arms around her, "That's not fair! You're a cheater!" He trilled at her in amusement, then tugged at her hair.
He shook his head at a comment he heard, "If she's imaginary, we're jointly hallucinating. Or not--which of us is the real person? Man, we should play a game or something. I bet if we bug Dad enough, he'll make us a different setting." The sixteen year old huffed, and half turned to look at the adults in the corner.
Jim shook his head slightly at his son. He frowned in disapproval at all of them, "I would have expected better out of you." He addressed them as a whole.
"Pfffft! How are we supposed to take you seriously?" Ace demanded.
Charles now lowered his dark glasses. His eyes were red momentarily -- or was that your imagination? -- He glared at them all.
Ace looked away, making a disgusted sort of annoyed face, but then grinned again, "We should place bets on these things." He waved his coal piece in the air.

The energy in the room did it, and now the coal started to wiggle around and pop up.
"Here we are!" Susan was the first to notice and she gave the cheerful head's up. In her arms, her bunny Annie made a eep-sound.
Charles folded his arms together and frowned slightly.
Really, in a room that was already the powder keg of chaos, did they need more?

Raleigh was growing bored. He’d had enough of hanging around his fellow evo’s and the conversation had grown extremely tedious. Arms crossed Raleigh looked around the room, and considered going back to the table where he could sit until he was allowed to go home.
It was as he was watching Ruri still stuffing her face across the room that he felt the first wriggle from his pocket. He only just managed to get the coal out of his pocket before the change began in earnest. The lump twisted is his grasp and then seemed to just form, completely with a small ‘pop’ sound, into a catlike creature.
Raleigh did some quick handwork to stop the creature from tumbling to the floor, grabbing it securely under the belly. Blue eyes stared up at him and Raleigh stared back.
“… alright.”
