RockyRoadSmith Dirt_avatard13 sad I guess I'm sad when what i ship doesn't happen, but the doesn't ruin my watching the show. gonk Yeah. Defenitally don't let it ruin the show for you. =3 Most of my ships don't come true, but that's where fanfictions come it. I AGREE!!!! Fanfiction is definitely where my hope goes to!

rachaella22 Apple-Sherbet RockyRoadSmith I don't really know what is going on with some of the characters. Katara and Zuko had made up, and Katara had gone as far as to hug him. Then Zuko saved Katara from lightling. Out of the blue, Mai comes back to steal uko and Aang makes out with Katara. Kind of a bland ending for an epic show. >_< Dude, if it was real life, Mai wouldn't of gone back to Zuko. Actually...methinks she wouldn't give a crap about him if he wasn't royalty. There was more Zutara chemistry in Southern Raiders and the finale than there EVER will be for Maiko and Kataang. It's why so many family members of various other peeps kinda wondered why Zutara didn't become endgame. I completely agree with both of you. Everything from TSR onwoards seemed to point toward Zutara - Zuko's protectiveness of Katara, forgiveness, Katara telling Aang "Now's not the time' and 'I'm confused', Comforting each other, teaming up, saving each other's lives, and then... Running into someone else's arms? WTF?
And, yes, I'm with you on Mai liking him for royalty and riches. As another fan said (jakia, I think), "Would Mai still be with Zuko if he was working in a teashop in the Lower Ring?" I think not. And, no, Zuko serving them tea in the end scene is not the same thing - he's still Fire Lord, he's still rich, he's still returning to his palace in the end.
... Time to work on those Future fics. >.<I was thinking about that too. I kind of felt like Mai was still mad with Zuko but mostly went with him for power. Kind of like a girl who will date or hang out with a guy only to get some of his popularity.

Kind of like a girl who will date or hang out with a guy only to get some of his popularity. Agreed. I mean, did she show any genuine interest in him in season two, aside from blushing a little in 203 when Ty Lee mentioned her crush on him? No. She didn't even have second thoughts about helping Azula track him down. And in season three, she didn't return to him until after he regained his title as royalty. If her uncle is the warden and can pull strings to release her, it's plausible that she and Ty Lee were released a lot earlier then right after Sozin's Comet, yet there's no indication of her or Ty Lee ever having tried to look for him. It's just, "Oh, hey, I'm out of prison now. You're the Fire Lord. Let's make-out and forget any of that serious conflict ever happened".

Pinumbra I've been hearing that Zutarians are easily hurt, but considering how hateful some of the other shippers are, I guess whining isn't that bad... I'm not surprised Zutara supporters are easily hurt, think about Fire and Water, both are supposed to be way emotional. it would only make sense for us to have emotions. And I in no way mean to be rude or hateful, but most kataangers are flighty, like airbenders.

I'd have to say that Zutarans as a whole are more frustrated then emotional.
I know that in my case, my friend is a serious Kataanger and is one of the few that is happy with how everything turned out at the end of the show, just because her canon won. What frustrates me is I give her the oportunity to explain her reasons why she believes the pairing is the best and works (though her reasoning is easily argued and very childish in my opinion) but when it comes my turn to explain my reasonings, she doesn't listen and insists on interupting me.
She does the thing when she explains Maiko. I let her speak, but when it comes my turn I can barely get a word in. This leaves me with the need to growl and to start bashing as bad as she does (though I don't), but she can be so flighty and airheaded that she doesn't even realise she'd doing it unless I call her on it.

No wonder we're considered batshit insane, they drive us to be so! XC
I'm just fortunate enough to have all my IRL friends be avid Zutarians as I am. I'm sure if any of us were Kataangers there would be hella bad arguments.

Unfortunately she's all I got as far as shipping for Avatar goes so I just drop the topic all together just to get her to shut up about it.

I had a great group of Zutara shippers to hang out with. I even converted my little cousins to ship Zutara. XD My dad is a huge Zutara shipper, too. He was so pissed with the finale and he was like a little kid; making gagging noises when Katara and Aang played tonsel hockey. XD I did have one Kataanger friend, though, who was really fair. He didn't rub it in or anything that Zutara didn't happen. It's rare, though, to meet a non-bragging Kataanger. >.<

It wouldn't have been so bad if it had been brought up in the show before. It just felt like such a cop out just bringing it up at the last minute, like, oh, Aang's getting his a** handed to him, but don't worry! He'll man up and turn things around any secon---OH WAIT BTW there's this thing, called spirit-bending.....
Ridiculous. But anyway, that's awesome, Rocky, that your dad was into it! xd

I mean, the kids exhausted and just because you can't bend doesn't mean you can't strangle someone. And he's a kid, kids aren't very strong. Besides, how is taking away someones soul/bending less cruel than flat out killing them?

You can't kill the main hero in a kids show, not worth all the psychological damage.
As for cruelty... You better believe that was cruel but the subtly of overall cruelty of the issue would be missed on little kids so it was probably okay.
Killing = Bad.
Emotionally destroying a person by tossing them in jail and taking away a part of their very being = Good.
