I mean more for the dialogue...

as far as i understand it, the Mayor agreed to allow the village to be tested on in return for badly needed funding for repairs and maintenance of the schoolhouse, the doctor's facilities etc...
THe chemical was labelled as a pesticide that would kill off unwanted parasites and insects that normally damage crops int he area. As the testing began to reveal illness in the villagers, the Mayor found out that it was in fact a chemical weapon. Unable to reverse what she had done, and unable to replicate the antidote even with the librarian and doctor's assistance, she cut off ties with the group that had approached her.

after she severed ties, the chemical displayed its true form, causing the bodies of those who had died from the disease to rise again and feed on absolutely anything they could get their hands on: garbage, meats, vegetation, animals and townsfolk. Everytime they fed on something, they spread the illness. Soon, everyone within the town was infected. The less contagion ingested, the longer the disease would take to consume the body, and the slower it would spread, thus explaning the different stages oft he disease found in the villagers.

now, that part i can allude to, but what hints and clues to attribute to each of the people is the real question. i think a real red herring will be for the butcher who will claim that at least the food is till safe...

but yeah, i need dialogue for them.

Hm... how far along in his illness should the Doctor be?

And should he be the original doctor, or the doctor's apprentice that took his place? (AKA, should he have a lot of the information, or just a little amount of things he has in a journal he found?)

The Priest, I think, would be fairly far along and cloistered up in the church usually in prayer. I can kinda see that once the effects became obvious, people flocked to the church to seek protection and aid but in doing so, only really spread the contagion, last of which was the Priest but because of the illness and watching the town die, he's not particularly sound of mind.

His dialogue would be a lot of prayer type things with key words and perhaps a few lucid moments that just wouldn't match what the other things he said were.

I know taro offered to write all of the dialogue...but I wouldn't mind trying to write Nadyrr's...or rather the dialogue for the child.

Basically starting there and then whoever wants start writing up other dialogues as well.

Tonight I'll get the sign thing and the side banners done...and see what I can do for dialogue. Then bring it all back here to be used or not as is needed.

Well, I'll wait to see what facts the other characters reveal, since Yambati's second to last and'll have probably more of an idea of what's going on. But I do know that:

He's the apprentice of the old Doctor and has found his notebook
He's been trying to synthesize the antidote from his old mentor's notes, but has failed
He's been very reclusive since the whole thing has gotten bad - he hasn't been tending to the village-folk like he should, since he's doing more research, and so he's not at as far advanced in his illness. (This could bring false accusations by the other townspeople, and resentment)

Those look pretty cool! They look a little too monotone - a hint of sepia, and they'd be just perfect, I think. biggrin
