Aelin looked down at the kit and back up at Kalvi several times, completely and utterly...confused.

She had no idea who this was kit was, or how the poor thing had been unfortunate enough to wander onto their tribe's territory. On the matter of the kit, all she knew whas that she felt a deep, pitying, sorrow for the young one.

And now what was she supposed to do? If she left the prone little girl here, there was no way to be sure Castor wouldn't discover a new plaything. But Kalevi was also completely off-base in his assumption. Besides, the little one was green; she looked more like a follower of Kalevi's than anything.

However, Aelin could tell Kalevi wasn't just faking this as a new scheme. The kit very clearly had no idea what was going on. "Ai, little one," she sighed, wrapping her tail around the kit, who seemed content enough to find shelter against her leg. "Do not fret. No one will hurt you so long as I am here."

But comforting the kit did not address the problem Kalevi presented. Knowing she couldn't leave the girl, Aelin called out as loud as she could: "Kalevi! I have no idea who this kit is, I'll swear it on my homeland! I have no followers!"

All Aelin could do was hope the stubborn idiot heard her...and believed her. Rolling her eyes to herself, she bent her head some to look at the green kit. "I am sorry, young one, you must be terribly confused. My name is Aelin, the Water Elemental. And who might you be?"

"My name's Lin," the kit replied confidently, for she had regained her confidence and felt foolish for letting fear take hold of her. "I'm sorry for trespassing. I got lost here, and decided to keep going 'cause I saw this place from the Fire Land. I hated that area, so I came here...and ran into you."

She didn't know why, but Lin wanted to go after the Earth creature; Kalevi, according to this Aelin. He seemed....like her. The water creature was nice and all, and Lin was grateful for the shelter from the fire one, but it was Kalevi who fascinated her.

Pangaia saw the kit and sat up suddenly intrigued by it. then she smiled. It seemed that the land itself was calling to others. This indeed had brighten up her spirits. She stood up she noticed the kit seemed to be longing for something. How odd...Blinking unable to see she moved closer and her cold and wet nose meet with the kits body. Pangaia began to smelland nuzzle the kit and then she smiled.

"Well sadly to Kalevi..he was wrong. This kit smells of the warm earth. " Pangaia smiled but she couldn't take the little one back and leave the others alone with Castor. She sighed and glanced around. Finally she stopped at Castor and approached him.

"You will behave while I take this kit to Kalevi." She looked at him sternly even with her blind eyes. Then gently she leaned over and picked up Lin with her mouth.

"I shall return" With that she sped off towards the lands of Earth hopping to catch up with Kalevi.

Castor merely huffed and turned away. He didn't see the elder go off with the kit. Instead he once she left he turned to Aelin. then with a smirk approached her.

"So who is the father of the kit? Hmm? Is it a b*****d kit? Born out of some stranger you meet?" He stopped out of the ranged of her tail but he still had a scratch just above his eye from Kalevi's tail. He continued to watch her carefully circling around her.

"Tell me is Kalevi right? Do you have an army hiding in those pools of yours? Nothing but a bunch of b*****d kits all with different fathers and you the mother?" His eyes narrowed just slightly watching her. Then he stopped and laughed.

"Oh little miss pure and water like is actually a little whore! So tainted by our war." Castor laughed again and looked at Aelin at a sideways glance.

Lin yelped slightly as the Elder picked her up, and she wriggled around in a futile attempt to make the other drop her.

Eventually, though, she just huffed and let the other keep going; it was clear they were headed for that Kalevi guy, so she shouldn't complain. While the Elder ran, she looked around closely for the first time; she'd been too busy trying to survive on her own to look around.

The land around her was saddening at best. Where were all the other foxes? Surely there had to be more than six creatures here besides herself in a land so vast? "What happened here?" she asked quietly, not even sure if she should expect an answer.

For a few moments, Aelin was able to hold her temper back. This was exactly what Castor wanted after all, and she knew she shouldn't let him have his satisfaction.

...Yet, sometimes, the best way to teach a fool was to surprise him.

In a very uncharacteristic move, Aelin lunged towards Castor and brought her paw down across his face, leaving several pleasing, bloody marks there. "Aw, such damage to such a pretty face," she spat. "Such a shame! Being the whore I am, I was seriously considering you."

But Aelin wasn't done yet. She used her built-up anger to knock Castor over, then stood snarling over him. "I have no children, idiot. My virtues, at least, are still intact. And even if Lin was my child, you would do well to know it would be none of your business. Unlike you pathetic idiots, I would never use a kit for the purpose of building an army. Modeities forbid I should have a conscience. "

Before he could lash out, the water leader moved off of Castor, staying out of his range. "Learn to keep your mouth shut, fool. It might save you more scars."

Castor was laughing as he got up licking his face as best he could. the scratch stung but it was a nice stinging feeling. He smiled at her this time a sincere smile as he approached her again.

"Oh you were thinking of me? What would the others say? Well its not that we wouldn't get along. I mean you have a fiery tempter like that of a fire vixen. Hmm.." He walked by her just barely letting his tail touch her causing a hissing noise due to their opposing elements. He smirked at Aelin.

"Well for someone so pure you have a lot of pent up frustrations my dear. Maybe you should give into them." Then he winked unable to hold it in any longer as he burst out laughing stopping short when his cheek started to burn again. He quickly started to lick and rub at it with his paw mumbling a bit but still watching Aelin.

"Castor, I wouldn't seriously consider you even if we were the only surviving foxes left on this planet," Aelin said dryly. "You're loud, crude and incredibly...obnoxious."

She glanced down at the place where his tail touched her, but other than that gave little sign of the stinging sensation it caused. She kept her eyes on him after that, internally disgusted. Just the idea of him in the way he was suggesting made her want to vomit.

Maybe that wasn't such a bad idea. If she aimed just right, Castor would smell like burnt vomit for days. Pangaia was letting them go back to their own lands, it wasn't like she'd have to smell it.

"And if I was to act on my frustrations, believe me, you'd be dead," she added simply. There was no threat or malice behind her words; it was just plain truth. "It might even take the others days to find all the pieces of you." The only outward sign of emotion she allowed at this point was a small, satisfied smirk; he could only ignore the scratches on his face for so long.

Castor again laughed and then wiped a this eyes gingerly. He smirked back at her and just shrugged. She could believe what she wanted but he knew what she said.

"Really now? Well what about those looks you gave me not so long ago. You want to kill me but at the same you want me.." He smirked more and moved closer to her until they were almost touching by the nose. He stared into her eyes intensely with his dark ones. His flames flarign every now and then from the faint breeze.

"Well tell me...something don't you just love our little fights? Our little spats of dominance? You love them just as much as I do and without I bet your life would be boring and you would want them back. " Again he was smirking at her. Now he didn't really like her, no not at all, but he did enjoy greatly toying with her mind and emotions. What better way then this? He wondered how long it would take her to crack. He taunted her, unaffected by her threats it seems, by swaying his nose just alittle bit nearly just a centimeter away from touching hers.

Aelin laughed quietly, sounding very incredulous. She could see Castor's ploys, and she wasn't about to let him trick her into thinking he cared.

Instead she brought her paw down across his face again, then pushed him away.

"You want, boring, Castor? I find these petty arguments boring. I love my homeland, not this cycle of fighting we go through. One of us starts it and eventually we're forced to stop, every single time. It's not exciting. It's foolish, and I leave this place feeling even more hatred towards you."

She was still livid with Castor, and she was being even more cold than normal now. "I hate you. More than you could ever imagine. I hate everything about you, down to the last particle of flame. I dread coming here because you'll be here, and I want to vomit every time I see you. You disgust me, and none of your little mind games are going to change that," she growled.

"Beleive me when I say, life would be so much better for me if you didn't exist. I would probably even forget you after a time. Who needs crass idiots like you in my lands? Even dwelling on memories of you would be silly, and so I would stop."

"You want the truth, Castor? I would rather die a thousand times-over than spend a full day in your company. Be glad you're needed for this balance nonsense that I'm trying to make the others see, or I assure you, you would be dead."
PostPosted: Wed Nov 21, 2007 4:04 pm

Castor's smirk instantly change this is not what he expected he flared up when she had touched his face and shoved makign sure to have burned her a bit before huffing.

"Heh not like I cared anyway. So you're right it was just a ploy. Not like you need to make into just a big deal unless you really did care." He huffed then moved away from her leaving scorch marks on the grass as he left. He turned to look at her and then his smirked returned.

"Well fine you won't see me again then. I mean its not like this balance nonsense would work anyway. This Elder is just as mad as the previous. We would never work out as a balanced tribe. Plus who would want to with such an ugly and disgusting piece of water filth like you. I think I have seen ash piles that look better then you!" Then with that he turned and made his way to his lands. He didn't have to stay there and plus he had the scratches to take care of.

Kalevi could hear Aelin shouting something behind him, but she was too far away for him to be able to make out the words. Whatever. It was probably either more lies, or another speech about how they needed to all work together, and he didn't want to have to that crap.

A stinging sensation in his side caught Kalevi's attention after a while of running. He had thought he had managed to avoid Castor's fiery tail, but it seemed instead he just hadn't noticed the pain, being distracted by other things.

He was so close to his homelands now. He didn't want to have to slow down when he was so close!

He was used to pushing his body beyond its limits in fights, and this would be no different. It would hurt like hell when he finally did stop, but he could at least keep running to his lands. A bit more exhaustion wouldn't change much in a fight, but by having the advantage of knowing the lands, that might help, if the others and their no longer hidden followers came after him.

Aelin no longer had the energy to be riled by Castor's insults. Besides, she could care less what he thought about her appearance. If it wasn't all lies, it was just shallow stupidity.

Exhausted by her outbreak, Aelin merely checked her burns, then laid down with her head on her paws in the grassy area, though she did not trust the other Elementals enough to fall asleep. Castor thought himself a master of lying, why wouldn't he just sneak back here and find a way to burn her again? And Kalevi obviously hated all of them with a passion, so she half-expected him to just drop a rock on her head if he came back or something equally as lethal. The only one who did not concern her at the moment was Venti, because the other girl seemed more air-headed than anything right now. She probably didn't even know right from left.

Rolling her eyes at the thought, Aelin prepared for a very long evening in the neutral grounds; she really was too tired to go home. The physical fight with Castor hadn't depleteld her energy at all, but the arguments with all of the others had. Perhaps she was lying when she said she hated Castor, but she absolutely despised dealing with any of the others; it was exhausting and pointless.

Crackling as she stretched, lifting herself from her bed and her den she wandered out into the fields, she had always been late for life but this time it was riddiculous. She had missed out on so much and now she knew she would more than likely be scolded for it. Pawing the ground nervously, she ran off looking to find anyone, someone. Hoping...she wasn't too late

Pangaia continued to chase after the earth leader. They had reached his lands and she felt empowered. Pushing her own body to the limits her legs pushed against the earth harder until finally she could sense he was closer. With one more burst of speed she managed to cut him off. Stopping in front of him she gently let the kit down. Panting due to the effort of chasing down the earth child and having a kit in her mouth it took her a moment before she could speak.

"I know you are lonely...You miss your comrades. I know the losses were many and great..." She hesitated a moment. Bring her paw up she adjust her water like hair which was out of place.

"And I may not be doing such a great job as I had hoped, since you got attacked by the hot-headed Castor, but look the land calls out for others." Gently she nudged the kit forward. Then she stopped and looked at the earth child with her foggy eyes.

"She smells of the earth. I am sure she will do better with you then with Aelin. This kit if not a child of water but a child of earth..." Pangaia frowned slightly. She seemed sad which was very unlike her. then she shook her head as if to clear some thoughts.

"I am sorry I can not bring your friends and family back, but that does not mean the tribe can not rebuild itself." She smiled but it was weak. It was clear that the fighting among the elements was beginning to wear her down.

Luvia had been hovering around the land of lightning when it saw the leader appear. Smiling, it dove down a little to be flying next to the child of lightning.

"Ho! Child of lightning, tis good to see that you are well. The storms were pretty bad. The others along with the Elder at the center of the neutral land. I shall see you there. " Gently bowing it's head it rose back up and sped off ahead. Once it arrived it only saw Venti and Aelin around. Landing in confusion it noticed how down Aelin was and very carefully approached the water child.

"What is the matter child of water?" Luvia also noticed that Castor, Kalevi and the Elder weren't in sight. It sighed heavily. What could of gone wrong now, it thought. It then noticed the scorch marks marking Castor's departure. Oh this was not well! It thought to itself. Shaking his head worrily he could only imagine what might have happened while it was away.

As Luvia approached, Aelin moved her tail to cover the burn marks on her side; she didn't feel like adding one more thing to the list of stressors. "I'm just tired, Luvia," she told the Guardian.

Sighing, she shook her head and decided to tell him the truth; how could any of this work if things were kept from Luvia and Pangaia. "Castor and I fought. A new kit arrived, and Castor taunted me, saying that the girl was my child, and that I was using her and others to create an army. I knew he just wanted a reaction, but I attacked him anyways. Eventually, he decided to just leave. Kalevi ran off when he saw the kit because he thought I was creating an army as well, but Pangaia recognized her as an Earth Child and took off after Kalevi."

She turned her head away from Luvia, studying the grass beneath her intently. "I am sorry. I should not have let him bother me."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 22, 2007 4:47 pm

Looking up at Luvia as she continued her pace, her nods and huffs allowing for recognition of Luvia's words as she headed towards the neutral lands. Her pace quickening as she yelped out a loud, huff.

"Thank you Luvia."

After a long and tedious journey she finally crept up to the others seeing the child of water and Luvia. Panting as she approached, she halted some, noting a semi sincere tone to the conversation and wishing not to interupt.

The sound of pursuit behind him made Kalevi put on a last desperate burst of speed. He hadn't thought they would try to attack. Not so soon!

The footsteps were gaining...damnit! He was so close! Just a few more steps, and--there, he was back on his own lands just as his pursuer pulled in front of him. The shock of seeing who it was made him stop.

Pangaia...and one of Aelin's followers? No, maybe not. Closer now, he could see that she lacked the tribe tattoo.

Still, that didn't rule out a mating where one parent wasn't of the tribe. Extremely rare, yet they still happened, when one of the tribe members found an outsider with a desirable quality--speed or strength or endurance, something that could be useful in the war.

But then, Pangaia seemed to catch her breath, and spoke. He listened, still keeping an eye on the kit, wary of it.

"She is Earth, then..." Kalevi repeated, his gaze turning more to scrutiny.

"What assurance can you give me that you're right, that this is where she truly belongs?" He would much rather go it alone, than deal with a spy of Aelin's in his lands.

Oh, he wouldn't mind having more comrades once again, but still, he needed to know that he could rely on her before that.

Her green fur was no reassurance: the sea could be green (or even brown) at times. When and why, he hadn't the faintest clue, but he knew it could be so. Hot fires were sometimes green near the center. Green was no promise. No color was any promise. In fall, leaves turned red and gold, colors thought of as that of fire. And the flowers of the land were every color one could imagine, and then some.

Color meant nothing. A solid reason why he could believe Pangaia's judgment: that was the important thing.
