Zidane, any day of the week. He wasn't all angsty and dark and whatever like Cloud and Squall were, and I find that refreshing. It's the same reason that I actually kind of like Tidus. ^____^

Anyway, Zidane, no doubt. Like someone else said, Yuna is more of a leader than Tidus (not that I don't think Tidus is a good character), and Cloud and Squall were just too... apathetic. Zidane really cared, and wasn't always upsetting his party members (well, sometimes, but it was always in a joking way, not a make-people-cry way). VI didn't really have a main character, so skip that... I don't really remember the earlier ones, so sorry to them is they have a better leader, but I'm going with Zidane.
Were she in the poll, though... I probably would've voted for Yuna.

omg...Ravenwolf i thought i did 2. i even looked through all the pages to see if i was there, but i guess not!
i think i would say cloud because of his leadership qualities. he was the head of the party, and you could tell how lost everyone was without him once he was in a coma. it made me laugh when barrett elected cid as the leader afterwards, and then when cloud came back, he just took his position at the front with no one questioning
