Azreal continued to issue move orders to his troops, trying as best he could to combat the overwhelming odds. He felt a small twang of pity as Adakus was pulled into the crowd of undead creatures. He did not see much after that, save for a few bloody remains.

[Correct. Here's my reasoning.
The gate can only fit so many. 100 zombies at a time will pour out from its recesses, spitting and biting at anything possible. One hunter will be able to take out the individually weak, yet massively powerful zombies pretty easily. Since there's a fixed number flowing at a fixed rate, all constrained to a small space, the factors of more manpower and getting in each others' way cancel out any hope for damage bonuses.]
