Alex scoweled and launched herself at the shadow. she tackled it to the floor and mumbled a few words and her whole hand went alight. It grew brighter and brighter until she forced her hand into the vampires chest. The vampire let out a bone chilling scream and started to turn into ash. When it did Alex stood up and smiled at the people who were staring at her. "Nothing to see here folks. Go about your buisness." Alex said. A gaurd popped his head in the tavern and Alex signaled for him to clean the ash up. The other gaurd nodded his head and cleaned it up. Alex went back over to the table and sat back down and smiled at the others.

Caitlin was stunned.
"Wh...what was that?" she stammered. "What was that thing you did with your hand?" Then, her natural impulsiveness took over. "And can you teach us?!"

Alex looked at Caitlin and smiled. "It's just a simple spell that a lot of soldiers know. And as for the teaching thing? Sure. It might take a while and you just might have to get a tattoo, but yea. Also, that was an easy vampire." Alex said while shrugging.

"An easy vampire?!" Caitlin echoed with a squeak. She lost her appetite almost at once. "I don't want to meet any other kind. M... m... maybe we ought to go to the castle. Please?"
She looked imploringly at the others.

Alex looked at them and shrugged her shoulders. "Sure let's go." Alex said. She got up and put down some money and a tip. She motioned for the others to follow her.

Caitlin looked up at the castle, impressed. It was a large, graystoned structure, with impressive stained glass windows. Guards were very visible on the battlements, but she had no doubt that there were also snipers hidden behind the arrow slits.
"Wow!" she breathed. Above the large wooden gate was a flag standard, an impressive mix of yellow, red, blue, black and white. Etched into the stone of the door frame itself was a motto that Caitlin couldn't quite make out.

Cassandra sat in silence on her bed, watching the large mirror above her dresser. She could see the figures coming towards the castle. They looked unfamiliar, yet familiar at the same time. She had seen these people before, but she wasn't sure where she had seen them. Finally she stood, making sure she looked decent and headed down to where the group was. It was one thing to sit and watch, it was another to go and speak with them personally.

"Wow!" Caitlin breathed. "It's so beautiful."
Then she turned towards the stairs in the corner of the hall where an oddly familiar woman was entering the room.
