Well, that's the thing... Cyrus and Glenn don't really HAVE any references, besides what I've drawn myself. I've got lots of 16-bit game sprites of them, though! Ashton and Dias have a lot more on them, and I've got reference art of Azura and Thorn that I drew and Atton and Mical are easy to find too
Cyrus and Glenn are a pair of knights, best friends since childhood. Cyrus has always protected Glenn, who's been loath to hurt people, starting with driving off a gang of bullies when Glenn was about five and ending when he gave his life to protect Glenn from Magus. Glenn, the younger by about five years, is clearly in love with Cyrus from his dialogue in the game both pre- and post-Frogging (Magus transfigured him instead of killing him) but with Cyrus it's unclear if he even knows about Glenn's feelings for him. Glenn, now known as Frog, has carried a grudge against Magus for ten years because of Cyrus's murder.
Ashton Anchors and Dias Flac are two swordsmen who met on a generic save-the-world quest. Ashton is canonically straight and crushing on a girl named precis who doesn't seem to know he exists, but he's flamboyant enough that I question his heterosexuality (not to mention the time he latched onto Claude under questionable circumstances). He's a nice, somewhat goofy guy with an unnatural level of knowledge about barrels normally, but because of an accident, a two-headed dragon now lives on his back and can sometimes possess him such that he's no less benevolent but decidedly less goofy. Dias is your generic anime heartthrob, with a tormented past, a piercing gaze, and waist-length blue hair. He's a fighter, but only because there's little else he believes he can do. He'd give his life to protect those dear to him.
Azura Soulblade and Thorn Mephendrian met under similar circumstances to Dias and Ashton. Thorn's blind, and he's the strong, silent type - he's also the only character among the lot of the ones I've posted here who is unquestionably gay. He knows that he's not like other people in that he becomes attracted to other men, so he keeps quiet about it. Thorn is disposed to neither law, chaos, good, nor evil. He's a bit of a vigilante with a vendetta against bandits; he behaves a little like Batman but more straightforward. He's uncomfortable around women and makes this clear. Azura, a literal angel, has been oblivious until recently of Thorn's feelings for him, and I don't know his reaction yet. Azura, unfortunately, is straight according to his player and creator (my boyfriend) and has never been in love. He's a staunch upholder of law and good. Being a Celestial (technically a half-Celestial) who's lived most of his life in Heaven, he has difficulty understanding mortals and their thought patterns. He takes everything literally.
Atton Rand and Mical... I'm embarassed about them, really... they're romantic rivals for the same woman. Atton, the smuggler who used to be a murderer employed by the Sith, can't stand Mical (often called Disciple), thinks he's a total goody-goody; Mical, the medic who works loyally for the Republic and was raised in a Jedi temple, doesn't know what Atton's problem is. Despite Atton's dark past, he has the potential to be a good person, and feels guilty for what he once was - though he can easily be reverted back to his darkness. Mical tends to see the potential for good in everyone, and has a strong tendency toward the Light Side though it is possible to corrupt him toward absolute scariness. However, it's canon that BOTH are straight.
So the real question is - do you prefer Chrono Trigger, Star Ocean, D&D original characters... or Star Wars?
I'll give you references when you decide which.

Sort of. It's difficult to explain, because the fangirl in me conflicts with the canon-nazi in me. Especially with the Star Wars...
That's why Cyrus and Glenn are my favorite. Because I'm rpetty sure it IS canon, and it doesn't make me feel guilty. Unfortunately... they don't quite induce nosebleeds, being Toriyama characters.

I seriously think Lucca is right about the Gleen/Cyrus thing. XD
...Canon nazi? You pair up Lucca and Magus, for crying out loud. xd I saw no hintage that they would be together, EVER.

Yes, canon nazi! There's no evidence of Lucca and Magus being together in-game, yes, I know - but if Magus HAD a love interest, it'd be her. Honestly, can you see him with any other playable character? Marle's both an airhead AND taken, Ayla's uncivilized and taken as well, Crono's taken and shows no indication of being gay, Robo's kind of not actually a person so that would be ew, and man, don't even get me started on Frog... but Lucca? Lucca's not spoken for (the two characters she DOES show interest in? One's taken and one's gay) and she's got a very good head on her shoulders, which is a quality a wizard would respect. It's not a big jump to see them together.

Cryus and Glenn sound very fun (I already have a pose in mind), and the blind aspect makes me rather interested in Azura and Thorn.
I'd also like to take a whack at your D&D's because of all your potential lovely references. wink
So?? May I? Pretty please!?!?
(The two-headed-dragon-on-the-back-thing is a bit hard for me to picture.) heart
Woo! First day of classes!!

I made an edit of Ashton a while back. This is what he looks like from behind, by the way -

XD We don't know if Crono is gay. He only talks in one ending. xd -had to say it-
I suppose you're right. Although, one could make a case for Magus and Flea/Slash/Ozzie... although that goes to a place I'd really rather not think of. whee Especially Ozzie.
Wait, there might be one thing that links Lucca and Magus. She mentions him through a letter in Crono Cross, but...that's mostly for Kid anyway. XD

Actually, there is canon evidence of Crono being straight: his wedding to Marle. That sure looks like a straight man to me... I tend to avoid any shipping involving Flea, due to the whole not-quite-determined-gender thing.

Aaaah dragon-guy, gotcha. Is there any other series with a similar aliment? I swear I've seen more art of this fella, but it was all bishi-ized and the dragons were very long and were a bit tangled up with eachother...and I want to say there was short hair involved...I suppose it's the same character.
Sooooo Luccaaa? What do you say?

Nope, I don't know if there's any other series with an Ashtonlike character but he did wear a different outfit in Star Ocean: Blue Sphere.
The dragons do tend to change length a lot too, I've noticed, but I've never see them 'tangled' as you say.
