In lieu of Chill's flatuence, I propose this:
Why not have an Anime style battle tournament, kind of like how the Jounin Exams are going on now?
Lets say, everyone picks an anime character, and then they are purposely selected to fight each other, to insure one won't totally overpower the other. (Such as Goku vs Hinata)
People pick their characters, and then the tourney matchup is posted. They all have their own thread to fight in, but in a different subforum (we have like 28 of them).
Rules:
-No original characters, Canon characters only.
-Normal fighting rules apply,(no godmodding, power playing, ect)
-Fights have to be evened out
-Tag matches should be available too, with posting order
Some badass examples of fights could be:
Goku vs Grimmjow
Alucard vs Dante
Hinata vs Eve(needless)
Itachi vs Ulquoirra
Ichigo vs Pein
Stark vs Walter(hellsing)
Adam Blade and Adam Arclight vs Might Guy and Rock Lee

Everyone would be up for it, but the problem would be...
I guess its not a problem, people would have to adjust to the powers.
Like, spiritual energy from bleach to the Ki of Dragon ball. Its all the same thing, but they'd have to explain it while fighting.
