That would take time and several people with open minds.

Daemon replied solomenly.

It's a lot to ask when people are afraid, when they are they don't think as logcially.

Precisely so, Serenity agreed. Excuse me ... I'll be right back.

She got up slowly, careful not to drop Gion's head too hard, and opened up the door of the snow cave, packing down all the snow. Then she went back and lay against Gion's side once more, putting her head down on her paws.

I'm back, she told Daemon.

Welcome back....

He paused a bit.

I take it, it's snowing?

Since he knew that Gion was too tired to be making sure they weren't trapped in here.

Blizzarding, actually, Serenity replied, seeming to sigh. Gion needs to rest, I can take care of the air situation and keep him warm. Do you know if he's been eating enough?

She had seen him eat earlier, but as hungry as he had seemed he hadn't eaten very much, really ...

It's hard to tell... since talking is all by thought there is nothing to keep him from eating and talking with me at the same time.

Daemon admitted.

I would hope he would eat even if he insists on eating and walking.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 20, 2007 7:44 pm

But even if he eats as much as he did in Tor Karad, it still wouldn't be enough ... he needs to eat twice as much as he normally would in this weather, for warmth and energy.

Serenity paused.

I'll have a chat with him when he wakes up, she decided.

It's probably for the best.
His voice was very aplogetic about not thinking of that.

I don't normally travel out of this weather for this long, it snows where I live but that is my home so no need to travel.

Well I'm sure Ulani and Ulrich have something of a similar situation as you then, Serenity mused, although they still have to worry about food and wood sometimes. If the snow is like this in the valley, I'm sure they'll be snowed in ... not the best of conditions. Though knowing them they'll be prepared for this kind of weather anyways. So ... the only effect it would have on them is make them more isolated than usual.

She gave the impression of shrugging.

From what my understanding on how far out the Borderlands are, yes and no. I only lived in the outskirts outside of the city limits, due to the wishes of my mother-in-law and due to the fact cities are just far too busy.

Daemon replied back, it wasn't such a bit deal.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 20, 2007 8:35 pm

What I meant was, if they're snowed in, they're also separated from their family that lives with them in the valley, Serenity explained. Normally they have five other people to interact with on a daily basis, but they would be stuck just the two of them.

Not that they minded, she knew.

I know, and I'm just saying that it isn't exactly how I live. I don't have the problem of being snowed in like that.

Daemon replied simply pointing out he was just saying. He didn't misterpret what she said. It was just he was correcting her that he didn't live like they did.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 20, 2007 9:04 pm

Ah, I see, she smiled inwardly. My only concern is ... if it's this bad this early into the season, how much worse is it going to get before it gets better?

Because it had only been four weeks ago that they had gotten their first frost, and they just about the southernmost region that even got snow.

What is the weather normally like? On average I mean?

Daemon asked.

Of course if he could see he could guess since it was a matter of weather patterns, not that it woudl really work here.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 20, 2007 9:16 pm

That's somewhat of a loaded question, Serenity thought with amusement. It depends on where you are. For instance, in the Elvish Southland, normal weather is a thousand years of forest, a thousand years of desert. In the Eastland, it's desert all the time, no matter the time of year. The Northland has hardly any weather at all. The Human Southland, Westland, and Borderlands have a year-long cycle of six seasons: spring, summer, autumn, fading, winter, and stirring - even though all the elves use the same calendar.

How about I redefine it for the question about the snow now... what is the weather like normally in this area?
Daemon chuckled, he had a feeling she read too much into what he said.
