It's going well actually. Family is kool, it's my brother's and my birthday soon so whoo! He is going to be 21 and I'm turning 18 so that should be fun. I looked after angel a few days ago. She's got some strange cold that makes her throw up all the time and she can't sleep bless her. I was up till about seven the other night with her. (I put her down at about 9 and then didn't get to sleep till half 8 the next morning.) How's life going Monkey?

hi ladies. just thought I'd check in here. Not any major breakthroughs yet to report... but, we do have some little things... and ya know... as time goes on, I become more and more thankful for all the little things between our breakthroughs. Like, we been teaching him the word cereal.. cuz that's half the time all he wants to eat. And, the other day, he comes up to me while i'm playing conquer. and he looks at me all cute like, so i ask him what he wants. he says cereal... eek biggrin yeah! he asked for it by name. that's progress ladies. we'll work on adding "i want" or "can i have" to it later. but, we've started to move past just pointing at stuff and requesting some of it. So, that's just awesome in terms of progress with vocalization. Not sure if i already mentioned this, but I got a book called are you my mother. Naaman really likes it a lot.
They are still doing this evaluation at his school with lots of testing and observations to get naaman certified for autism. If this comes back at all favorably, then they'll be able to network us with like one or two organizations. Also, they are starting to talk to me about something called skamp. A program naaman can get into for the summer so we don't lose any of the progress we've made with his being in school.. as three months of no school whatsoever could really set him back.

dA_fUnKy_mOnKeY now i have teh virus ..so sore..so tired gonk just as eric is feeling back to himself i feel like i got hit by a truck crying I am still battling out a sore throat.. i also seem to get some kind of upper respiratory congestion/discomfort towards the evening and bedtimes... the good part is that i foudn a doctor's office who'll accept my work's crappy insurance. biggrin My insurance still won't cover a physical which is what i really need... but at least i can be seen to get medication for my sickness. i haven't had my own prescription for anything since my post pardom visits to my doctor after i had my son.. and he's almost 5.. we are almost done with his certification evaluations at the school. not sure how long i have to wait to find out their ruling/determinations...

oh yuna, that wasn't my favorite moment over hte past several weeks. One day I got home from a full day's work. and when i work during the day, josh gets him from the bus and stuff... so when i got home that day, I went straight in the kitchen to put away some groceries we picked up on the way home... and he chases me into the kitchen. grabs my arm and gets me to look at him. when our eyes meet, he told me "HELLO!" and ran back to his game.. that was my fav moment lately.. he hasn't done it again. i keep hoping he'll greet me more often. it was soo cute.. for a child working through autism to realize someone entered the room, drop what they're doing, and acknowledge that person.. that was just total awesomeness. 3nodding

ahhh, that's amazing Graceangel. sounds like Naaman is doing good. it makes you feel so good when you have those special moments. i love seeing my son look up at me and smile, and i love tickling him so he laughs. it's not a lot, but i'm thankful for it. xp keep up the good work with him. i'm thinking about getting flashcards for when my son gets old enough to sit himself up.....i'm not sure it's too soon or what, but i figured it wouldn't hurt for me to go through them...... redface

Happy Mother's Day, everyone! heart I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while. I couldn't seem to access my Gaian inventory and my profile was a question mark for a while. Oh well. I'm back. Anyone miss me?
We've been incredibly busy here. Yesterday, my two eldest kids were in a play. I spent most of this week making four costumes - LOL. They both performed very well. I am a proud mom. wink
Hubby and I attended Anime Boston again, which was a blast. This time we stayed overnight on Friday. We had to be back Saturday evening because my daughter had her First Holy Communion that Sunday. Then my 9y.o. remembered that he had a book report due the next day. sweatdrop
The surgeon has referred me to an oncologist because the tissue growth they found puts me in a higher risk category for breast cancer. I have a lot of thinking to do....
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well.

Krystlanna, It sounds like you're dealing with quite a lot, too. One thing I would suggest would be to find some local support. You could try the "connect" area of Schwabb Learning to see what resources may be available. If I'm understanding you right, it sounds like your son has a learning disability and a mental illness. You could try to find a local support group for parents of children with special needs to find assistance with dealing with your local school system. Did the school conduct the evaluation or did you have an outside evaluation done? Find out more about the special education process to determine what the school can help your son with Special Education Overview You may want to see if you can find an advocate for your son as well.

We are doing ok here. Ben had a swallow study done last week, he still cannot drink water, he aspirates. The speech patholigist stated that he probably won't be able to do any liquids until he can sit up on his own, and his motor skills improve. crying We are also still waiting for him to be able to put food in his mouth and eat. Ben can bring things to his mouth, he just is a little slow about it. Though he is progressing. whee He cannot crawl yet, but he is able to slowly inch himself in his crib, baby changing table, and on floor. xp
