Rufus hadn't exactally gotten angry at him for leaving but he had been told to not do it again. He was suppose to be a 'minion' not giving orders to the Boss.
When his phone rang he glared at it for a moment before realizing it was Kaleb. "Hey ... everythin alright?" He had though that Kaleb would be fine ntil he got home so getting a call was slightly strange.

Kaleb was relieved when Riley picked up, and he smiled a bit as he replied. "Y-yeah, everything's fine. I-I moved some things over, a-and there was plenty of room for that dresser..." The little mage had never been good at idle chatter, but this time he really just needed to talk rather than talk about anything in particular. Hopefully Riley wouldn't ask why he called, then he would have to make something up since he certainly wasn't going to admit he was kind of lonely.

"So ya had ta call me and tell me that?" He'd told Kaleb he could move stuff so he didn't think he really needed to be told that it had been done.

"Uhm..." Kaleb fidgeted a bit, pulling the edges of the blanket closer around himself. "N-no, I... I wanted to ask if there was anything in particular you wanted for dinner." Yeah, that was a believable excuse for calling. If he was lucky, Riley wouldn't suspect a thing.

"Mmm .. not really" He wasn't really picky about food so it didn't matter to him what they ate. "Ya can cook whatever i've got 'round ta make"

Kaleb got up and wandered to the kitchen. "O-okay... Would you mind if I got more vegetables?" he asked, after nudging open the fridge door and looking at what his partner had lying around.

Kaleb kicked the refrigerator door closed and poked around until he found some rice and things he could make a good stir fry sauce from. "That would be fun," he said, smiling as he pulled the stuff out for later. "I really like grocery shopping."

"Then ya can pick up stuff that ya want so i don't forget anythin." Hopefully Kaleb would pick out a good chunk of things so that he didn't have to worry about his eating habits more

Kaleb fished around the fridge and freezer a bit more, to see if there was anything other than vegetables he should pick up that afternoon for dinner. "Okay, I could probably bring food from my apartment too."

"Yeah, I think I still have some apples from last week, and some chocolate milk, I'll bring that stuff over." He finally shivered and closed the freezer, making a mental note to get some chicken that would be good for dinner. It wouldn't be that hard to keep Kaleb happy as long as there was some fresh fruit around, and maybe some crackers and cheese. Technically those weren't snacks though, they were his meals.

"Oh, while you're out can ya get me a bottle of soda? I think i'm out." He still had juice and stuff left but he'd want caffeine eventually.

"Okay, what kind?" Kaleb asked, adding it to his mental list of groceries. He needed to ask since he never drank soft drinks on his own, and would have had no idea what was good or bad.

"Umm ... dr. pepper if they 'ave it. OR Mr. Pib" Usually if places didn't have one they had the other so he figured that would work.
