I have thus far only named my sousaphone... his name is Plobius. (which came from the urban myth of an arcade game in the 80s called Plobius that supposedly took people's memories and instead of change being collected, a man in a suit came and collected computer chips or something, never proven, but I liked the name.) I used to use it for video games as my own name, but I moved on to something more symbolic of me and one day just began calling my sousaphone Plobius, and that is his name to this day.

In eighth grade I had a french horn named Conrad... I have yet to name my new one though. I'm not even sure if I will; I think that if it should have a name, the name will come to me. I'm not going to spend any time trying to come up with one.

Exaclty. 3nodding I'm glad you agree. All of my other friends think I'm just giving my horn way too much credit... lol... I'm having a harder time naming it than I had with my cat.

For lack of creativity, i named my bari sax "Barry." but thats only a school horn. if i owned it, i wouldve put more thought into it. I have yet to name my alto. ^-^ Its a really nice old horn with a great sound, so ive spent the last four years trying to think of a name worthy of its beauty...

wow! so if you leave them in a dark room alone, in a couple of weeks, you'll have some weird sax/violin hybrid that uses a reed on strings for some weird classical jazz mix? ^-^

My old bari was "Older than God", but that was just a nickname. It had no real name. The new bari is "The Beast". My marching alto is "Piece of s**t". The concert alto has yet to be named. It will be a good name. And my soprano, which is my only sax to have a real name, is Bird.
The real names just come to you.

No, seriously, she is....WHY WONT SHE PLAY FOR ME!! WAHH!! Man, I can't believe that I've had El Crapola for 5 years and still haven't named her. Hee hee, I used to sleep with her under my pillow when I first got her cuz I was so excited about having an instrument to play!!

Masquanade Come on you want to admit it. You've named your instrument, you band geek you. So what's its name? My old trumpet was named Diana Thompson. whee Mostly because it was a used instrument and that name was written across the side of it. sweatdrop My current trumpet is named Key. Nothing special, kind of geeky and that's about it. whee My clarinet's name is Cee Cee... I named it that because someone suggested it as a name for my truck, but I didn't like it for my truck, so I named my clarinet Cee Cee instead of my truck. (I still dont have a name for my truck :3)

I have two alto Sax's.
The old one is just refered to as "crap sax", and the new one is simply "godly sax" (which is damn-well what it better be for $3200)
My new one is so freakin' awesome.
