Name: Keina Alappassi
Species: Hawkling. Yet another race that I made up, lol. A hawkling is pretty much the human form of a bird (Specifically a hawk ) They have some features similar to that of a Japanese tengu, including wings. Female hawkling have markings around their eyes that resemble
cats eye makeup. They also have wings that are made up of brown, white, and black feathers. All hawkling have slightly pointed ears and snake-like pupils in their eyes.
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Appearance description: Keina looks just like she does in the picture. She has a few scars here and there though, that she hides under her clothes. While she is at work she wears her scrubs instead of the outfit in the picture. She also usually always decorates her hair with unusual feathers, which is common in the hawkling culture.
Personality: Keina can be an extreme spitfire when she needs to be. (But only when she needs to be ). This means that she has a very fierce personality. She is quick to make up harsh comebacks and is fond of using sarcasm to make her victims uncomfortable.
But of course, this kind of personality is usually not approved of at work. So she tends to tone it down some while she is on duty. Keina may be very harsh but she is extremely motherly. If someone is injured physically or mentally she tends to fuss over them a great deal. She is very outgoing and loves to make friends, though she does have a hard time trusting people, and for good reasons....
Bio: When Keina was just a tiny little infant a hermit found her mother in the woods. The woman was almost dead, having fallen through the trees and into the snow during a storm. When he moved to help the woman he noticed that she had a baby nestled into her shirt and her wings were wrapped around them both for warmth. The man quickly took the two back to his house where he placed them on the couch next to the fire place. He called a medic but the woman had no chance of surviving, and before she dies she held her child out to the hermit, asking for him to take care of her, though she did not say so out loud. The look was in her eyes. The man couldn't say no to such a pleading expression, so he took the baby and promised to look after he.
The hermit knew that he could not take care of such a small child. But at the same time he also knew the dangers that all hawkling faced, for they were highly hunted. He took baby Keina into a small town and turned her over to the medic couple that lived there. It was there in that house that Keina was raised and taught how to take care of the sick and wounded.
Due to her status of being a hawkling, Keina's parents were too worried about her safety to send her off to public school, so she was home schooled by a nice lady who also lived within the town. After becoming a graduate she went off to college, despite her parent's warnings.
This is where things began to go downhill for the young woman.
A hawkling, in college. It was not a good combination. Keina often became the victim of the frats houses antics or some fool's pranks. They didn't always mean to hurt her, but they usually ended up doing so both mentally and physically. Keina's days were often spent with her feathers being plucked off of her wings by her fellow students. But this did not and would not bring her down.
She marched through it with her chin held high. She had been raised to be as strong as possible and to never let anyone put her down, and that is how she spent her college days. After this, she graduated and became a nurse.
Keina has worked at several hospitals and private homes after graduating. But being betrayed almost each time has led her to look for yet another job, and this is why she has come to Rosentale.
Skills and Abilities: She can fly and she has an extremely good memory which is why Keina can still speak in her hawkling native language even though she was still just an infant the last time she heard it. She also has fantastic vision which enables her to clearly see things that are far away.
Character Flaws: - A low self image. Keina thinks crap about herself. Due to being harassed and abused at college she thinks of herself as horribly ugly and untalented. If people tell her she is beautiful or a good nurse she will usually shake her head and deny it.
- A true spitfire. Don't tick her off or you will never hear the end of it. This is a flaw because if she snaps at work it could lead to her losing her job.
- Paranoia, due to what she is Keina is always on the look out for hawkling hunters. This causes her to be on edge and sometimes she thinks bad things are going to happen when they really are not.
- Trust issues. Keina has an extremely hard time trusting people, due to what happened to her in college. She also fears that if she gets close to someone they may just end up to be a hawkling hunter.
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Status: Single, chances are this wont change very fast because Keina has extreme trust issues.
Occupation: Medical assistent. Keina is not a healer but her job is to look after patients in the infirmary. She cleans the area, takes vitals, administers medications, and other little things like that. She can also treat splinters, minor cuts and bruises, and illnesses.
Disclaimer: She is NOT a healer! Keina cannot perform surgery on people! Her soul job is to help out in the infirmary with little things!

A note on hawkling:
Hawkling are known for their unusual wing pattern. Their feathers are highly prized because they are extra soft and make great accessories in foreign countries. These people reside in Finland and other parts of Europe, which is why they enjoy the cold. Their favorite place to hide from poachers and hunters are mountains.
Due to being hunted, hawkling are
extremely rare to find. A person would be very lucky if they ever saw a live one during their life time. Due to being so rare their feathers are worth even more.
A note on Keina's feathers (the ones in her hair and on her clothes) : It is often seen as hypocrytical, but hawkling enjoy wearing the feathers of other bird's on their cloths and in their hair. For the men this is seen as a manly thing- The more feathers they have (and the more exotic they are ) the better the hunter they are.
The female hawkling usually wear feathers from their mate's kills but Keina wears them from her own. She does not belong to a specific village of hawkling so she doesn't have a mate. Therefore, she must wear the feathers from her own kills.
