Tim tensed all the more when the light turned on.... and, this particular response fudged his mind a bit. What?!
"Your home."
With this he took a couple quick steps forward to engage. Wayne? What?
As he approached the jacket around his shoulders fell away so his Robin tunic was fully revealed, his own blue eyes glinted back.

Brenda glanced down at the Robin tunic and frowned for a moment. "Awww, how cute," she said mockingly, before dodging a kick to the head. "Richard's taking apprentices and he didn't tell me..." she continued, parrying and dodging his other attacks, and she rolled her eyes. "I've got the urge to pinch your cheek, actually..."
However, during the next few moments, it was clear to Brenda that this kid was not to be messed with, as he was pushing her back. However, her movements matched up exactly with those of Bruce Wayne, except that since she was more limber than Bruce, Brenda was able to dodge more and block less.
The first writer got an idea, and using the Fourth Wall powers he had as a writer, muffled the sounds of the fight for now, so that it could go unimpeded by the rest of the people in the Manor. Once everything the others were doing was squared away, then they'd be able to notice that a fight was going on.

The third writer is sorry, but she agrees. This is really, really fun.
"What does Nightwing have to do with this?"
Tim muffled in surprise as yet another set of strikes of his were easily blocked. The moves, the appearance, the knowledge..... everything added up too nicely. He backed off a bit and pulled out his staff, clicking it to full length-- but not as a tool for offense. He was intent on getting in a few words, and the staff was only if she decided to advance.
"Okay...... 'Brenda'......."
Maybe this was part of the multi-verse confusion? His expression portrayed serious thought as he stared at her.
"This is Bruce's house."
Would that mean anything to her?

Brenda kept her defensive stance, but didn't attack. She frowned, having a very "Bruce is thinking" look on her face. This kid seriously didn't know about... what had happened?
"About a year ago, I was Bruce Wayne. Zatanna turned my physical body into a woman as a prank, but the spell.... well, it worked too well on me. I... well, over the next few months I started getting more and more feminine personality traits, until finally I realized that I was, completely... a woman. I have my old memories and some old habits stuck with me, but as far as I'm concerned 'Bruce Wayne' and 'Batman' are dead to me. It's just 'Brenda' now. And as for... Nightwing..."
She frowned. Richard had taken over for her as Batman. He wasn't Nightwing again... Unless... She glanced down at the diamond ring on her left hand's ring finger for just a moment, but it was long enough for a kid like Tim to notice: It was a marriage ring.

At first, Tim twitched. He stared at her, then looked down at the ring then back at her. Everything, everything, clicked together. The motions, the voice, the reaction to his presence....... Robin lowered his staff a little, and mulled it through a few times in his head.
Finally a smile formed on the teen. He started in a light chuckle that slowly grew into a full out hysterical fit. It was enough to make him drop his staff and clutch his stomach. Yep, definitely alternate universe.
"Bru---Brenda, you.......... you and, and d**k....."
It was too much. He could see why Zatanna thought this prank would be funny initially.

Brenda didn't react until Tim started laughing. Her face contorted with rage, and one could almost hear the stock sound effect of a puma snarl when she did so. She balled her fists, and tensed up.
"Don't... laugh at my Richard!" she snarled, and lunged at Tim, attacking him in a flurry that was identical to the kind Bruce could and would give out... but it was much faster.

Woooah shi-! Tim's eyes widened as he attempted to duck out of the way from her attack, but she was too quick. Upon impact, sudden fear of anger he knew the Bat could dish out appeared on his face. He was knocked off his feet and fell roughly on the hard-wood floor. As soon as he could muster his strength into the right muscles, he tried to tumble out of her way.
"--Woah!!"

Brenda picked Tim up by the scruff of his shirt, lifting him up like a ragdoll. She may have had a smaller frame than Bruce, but she had retained his old strength.
"Not so funny now, is it, kid?! Let's see you go through what I went through! I had to give up on the promise I made my parents on the night they died just because a female Bat running around at the same time Bruce Wayne got a sex change would be easier to connect the dots with!"
She tossed him unceremoniously into the nearest chair, fuming. "I wasn't happy when this happened. Not at first. The looks every member of the JLA except Superman would give me... Ugh! But later... after I accepted it... I just decided to be happy with my new life. I... I let go of my old self. Bruce Wayne and Batman are dead to me, like I said. And I'm happier that way."
She tossed her tousled hair back, and took a calming breath. "So... I'm a smart girl. As smart as I was when I was Bruce. I'm guessing that something happened? Time distortion or something so that Richard and I aren't married, he's still Nightwing, but I'm still a woman?"

As Tim was thrown at the chair he took that time to pull his feet ahead of him so he could flip off the cushion, back on his feet so the chair would be between him and Brenda (such a move would probably remind her of Nightwing, actually). At first he was unaware that she had "calmed down" and he was panting, immediately forming another defensive stance. Slowly Tim loosened his hands out of the fists that were made of them.
"...."
He waited a bit longer to make sure she wasn't going to charge him again, before he responded cautiously.
"It's not just a time lapse. It's a verse merge. The whole sha-bang... we're kind of undergoing a major crisis, here."
He kept an even gaze on her as he continued, still holding his stance.
"The Bruce I know never went through this... change... I'm the third Robin. His Robin..... you can guess why I didn't believe you at first."

Brenda just looked at Tim, with yet another "Bruce is thinking" look on her face. "A.... a 'verse-merge?" she asked herself softly. "So... So if Richard is Nightwing here..."
She looked down at her ring again, and a look of abject horror appeared on her face as she finally understood. Her Richard did not exist in this... "'verse-merge".
She had a very, very pained look on her face, like someone who was just told that the love of their life had died. "God..." she whispered, and she tried not to cry. "Richard..."
Not going to cry... Not going to cry... she thought, forcing her expression to become neutral again, and she looked to Tim. "The only Robin I ever trained was..." she said, before she closed her eyes and sighed. The answer was all too obvious.
"Who are you, and the... second... Robin?" she asked softly, her eyes still closed.

This was so incredibly weird. Tim didn't think he had ever felt so awkward before in his life. Steadily he relaxed out of his defensive pose and took a step closer.
"...I'm Tim. The second was Jason, but he..... um, well..."
By the look on his face, Tim didn't think he'd have to finish his sentence.
"You...... er, Bruce, needed some 'help' after that."

Brenda opened her eyes and looked at Tim.
"... I see," she said softly. "Well... I'm sorry to hear that," she said, and then she sighed and slumped down in another chair. "Where's Alfred?" she asked. "My version of him didn't so much as gawk when I was first transformed. He just said: 'Ah. I had a feeling this would happen one day Master Bruce. That's why I collected a stockpile of women's wear', with that little smirk on his face he always gets," she said, doing an uncanny impersonation of Alfred. "So I doubt this will one be any different."

Tim was careful with when he chose to crack a smile, but this time it appeared safe to do so.
"That, sounds like Alfred yep."
He looked around a moment.
"RC and I picked him up from the hospital earlier this week, and he slept in today, but I'm sure he's up and around by now."
Oh boy, now mentioning the hospital was going to stir up some questions, Tim just knew it.

Brenda snapped her gaze to Tim, and completely disregarded the mention of "RC", whoever that was.
"Alfred was hurt?" she demanded. "What happened? I swear if anyone's hurt him..." She gave a Batglare in Tim's direction, and given the explosion of anger she had displayed earlier, this was likely more terrifying than when Bruce did it.

This gave Tim chills that ran all the way up his spine and back down again. He froze again, quickly gathering whatever he could in his head to explain. Batglares were not to be underestimated.
"I wasn't here yet when it happened, but it was described as some sort of heart attack... he's, perfectly fine now though."
