He wasn't sure if he believed the doctor, but he had no reason to really doubt him, so he shrugged it off, taking the man's word for it. "Fine. I'm just worried about you, Kazu. I guess I should get you home to get some rest, then?" he asked, looking to Watari for approval.

"I'm fine, Asato... really..." Muraki replied again, pulling out of Tsuzuki's grasp and moving to sit on the sofa. "Maybe I'm just tired..."
"Take him back to your apartment." Watari spoke, his amber gaze focusing on his friend. "Let me know if anything changes. I'll... need time to finish some research before we transfer Saki to me... so in the meantime, keep him safe and sane."

Micheal stepped in front of Otori, when he looked afraid of Tsuzuki. His own black feathered wings spread to shelter his angel. It wasn't entirely his concious (sp?) choice to fill the air with charred fragments of feathers and actually reveal the extent of the burns. The pain really didn't bug the demon as much as the somewhat charred appearance. He stood his ground warily watching Tsuzuki even when the shinigami turned his attention to the human. "I won't let anyone hurt you again." Micheal said to Otori in a low voice. "Not while it's in my power to keep you safe."

"Yeah." Tsuzuki confirmed, stepping behind Muraki and wrapping his arms around the man tightly. Pausing, he looked over to Micheal and Otori. "I'm sorry...no hard feeling, ne?" and he gave a classic Tsuzuki smile before teleporting himself and Muraki into his flat. He didn't move, holding the doctor still to make sure he wasn't disoriented. "You ok, koibito?" he asked, concerned for the man's comfort.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stepping up, the angel wrapped his arms around the demon. "I know, I know you won't, my love. I'm so sorry that I hurt you." Glancing around his singed wings, Otori noticed Muraki and gasped, eyes widening, before hiding behind his protector again. "I trust you..." he murmured, still somewhat afraid, but when those two men disappeared he breathed a bit easier.
Instinctively, Muraki's hands wrapped around Tsuzuki's arms, and they were off. A few moments passed, and the doctor opened his eyes to see himself in another apartment. An apartment that was cleaner than Watari's, but held a faint smell of cookies and powdered sugar... "This is... your place?" Kazutaka asked, releasing his hold on the shinigami's arms and looking around. "I'm fine... remember?"
~ ~ ~
Sighing, Watari turned back to watch Ootori and Micheal. "Ootori-san... could you explain in greater detail what happened? I mean... I need to know more if I'm to help."
"Yeah...it's my place. I know there isn't much to it...but there's no place like home, so they say." the brunette shrugged his shoulders, releasing Muraki's body and stepping around him. "I know you're fine. Just making sure the teleportation didn't mess with your head. Spiritual travel like that can really mess with a living human's head sometimes. Well...make yourself at home, I guess. Can I get you anything?" Tsuzuki asked as he sat down on the couch and promptly opened a tin of cookies, digging in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Turning his attention to the blond shinigami, Otori shied away a bit, still nervous and afraid, especially since it had been him that had destroyed this man's room with flames. "I...I'm not sure how to begin to explain..." the angel whispered, clinging even tighter to Micheal. "I'm still confused. Whatever happened...it was terrible, and wicked, and it had something to do with that silver demon man." Otori tried his best to describe Muraki, but 'Silver Demon Man' was the only thing he could think that described him correctly, in the angel's mind at least.

Watari bit his lip, "Was it Muraki-san... or someone who looked like him? From what I've seen, and what Tsuzuki-chan's said, Ootori-san... Muraki-san isn't the one to blame. However... someone, a demon, using his body, is." the scientist paced back and forth for a moment. "Do you remember where you were? How long ago this was? Before, when we dealt with Muraki-san... there were... complications and we learned he had a vicious power to curse." He wasn't mad about his room... not really... he was more concerned about solving their current problems.
~ ~ ~
"Ma... maybe some tea?" Muraki asked, wandering about the living room area of Tsuzuki's apartment and looking around. There wasn't really anything of personal value in the place... just cookie tins or empty candy dishes. "You really do like sweets, ne?" the doctor smiled slightly, finding the entire idea kind of cute.

"I don't....I don't want to think about it. It frightens me." Otori shuddered, beginning to sweat slightly. "But...but I know it is important. He...he did seem different then. It was roughly a year ago. I remember the fire. He was laughing at me...and at something...somebody else....I don't know who or what. Then he...he...he...." softly, the angel began to cry, "...he drug me off somewhere very near....raped me, cursed me, and left me to whatever fate I might meet. It was as if he gained some sort of power with it. That's the last thing I remembered."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tossing the tin on the table, Tsuzuki stood and made his way into the kitchen. "Tea it is then. Any preference. I have a collection. Any tea you can name, I probably have." Putting the kettle on, he leaned against the kitchen counter, looking rather adorable in doing so. "Hai...I enjoy sweets. They make me happy, and I like to be happy. Don't we all? Everyone has to have a vice, I suppose."
"Any tea?" the man thought for a moment, before turning to Tsuzuki with a smile. "Longjing.. dragon's well tea. I always find it infinitely relaxing, though perhaps a bit expensive at times." the doctor replied before moving toward the balcony windows and looking out the terrace. "I take it Shinigami don't make very good pay... since both yourself and Watari-san live in very modest apartments."
~ ~ ~
Watari stepped forward, wanting to reach a hand out to the angel and try to calm him down, then thought better of it. Instead, 003 flew into the room and hooted cheerfully, before landing in Ootori's lap. She looked up at him with her huge eyes and hooted softly, before hopping forward to nuzzle the angel. "Muraki-san did that before... and from what we gather, it was his brother, Saki, who is a demon now it appears. The Muraki you saw earlier has no recollection of anything like that happening... as if his consciousness were completely secluded."
"Right...Longjing....I do have that, right here." he plucked a box from the cupboard and began to empty some of the leaves into a strainer. Suddenly, the shinigami paused.
"Merry Christmas....baka." Hisoka had turned his face away, blushing slightly, as he handed the delicately wrapped package to Tsuzuki. Tsuzuki had given the boy a fluffy, bright green turtleneck sweater...and a bullwhip, just to kid about how much of a slave driver the boy could be at times. Of course, Watari had to interject with some sort of dirty comment, which made Tsuzuki giggle and made Hisoka blush. Excitedly, the brunette tore the wrapping off of the package, revealing a fancy box of tea. "It's called Longjing...and it cost me a fortune, what with our salary." the young shinigami huffed. "Thank you, Hisoka." Tsuzuki replied, swooping in and stealing a kiss from the boy's cheek.
Tsuzuki was staring at the wall, holding the tea absently as if he had gone off into another world entirely. Then he blinked and gasped suddenly, knocking a teacup from the counter. The sound of the porcelain shattering against the tile brought the brunette back to his senses and he immediately went back to his usual self. "Sorry, sorry...I'm so clumsy. Everybody is always telling me that, you know. I never seem to get anything right, always making such a mess." he admonished himself. Pulling another cup from the cabinet, he set the tea to steeping for the doctor as he knelt and began cleaning up the mess he had made. Tsuzuki tried not to let Muraki see it, but tears had sprung to his eyes and he was wiping them away. He loved Hisoka. So, so very much. Even so, he had forsaken the boy for the love of a possessed physician. He felt torn, not sure what was wrong or right again. It made the man question his feelings. Shaking his head, he set his resolve. He loved Muraki. He loved Muraki and he would stay with him, no matter what. Hisoka would be ok. In fact, the boy was surely better off without him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Otori had wrapped his arms around himself by this point, trying to remain calm, to deal with all of this. He was an angel, and he was incredibly powerful. He shouldn't be as afraid as he was...oh but he was so very afraid. A sweet, cute looking owl flapped into the room, cooing softly, and settled itself into his lap. Otori couldn't help but smile, reaching down and stroking those soft feathers. He decided very quickly that he absolutely loved this little owl. "So...the man that was here...is an innocent. He is being tormented by a demon? A demon that was his brother once, no less?" the angel sounded shocked and appalled. Such a thing was surely punishable, and he certainly wanted to remove the said demon from the innocent man. Both to save the doctor, and to exact his own revenge.

Tatsumi sat in his office, pouring over report after report, correcting every little incorrect detail, and sprucing up every spreadsheet. Pulling his hands away from the keyboard, he cracked his knuckles and stretched silently for a moment. Of course things would have to get difficult when he got to his partner's work. Watari always managed to forget something when it came to paperwork. That or he completely screwed up the whole thing. The blond could be so all over the place at times, but with the energy he had, Tatsumi couldn't help but see why. The kagetsukai smiled slightly as he picked up the phone. He was going to have to call the man in to sort this, one way or another. He dialed the phone and listened as it rang.

(((OOC: Why the sudden Tatsumi? Hehehe did you feel bad for poor Watari gettin' no love?)))
~ ~ ~
"Your hand." Muraki was kneeling beside Tsuzuki, a dishtowel in his hand. He forced the shinigami to stop picking up the broken pieces, and gently wrapped the sudden slice across his palm with the towel. Of course, the doctor knew Tsuzuki didn't need it... but it still must have hurt. "Where are you, Asato-kun?" Kazutaka asked softly, watching the shinigami's eyes for a moment. "Anyone can knock a tea cup over, baka... you don't need to place so much blame on yourself..."
~ ~ ~
Watari couldn't help but smile slightly when 003 started cooing softly and tilting her head back so the angel could rub her breast feathers. "Yes... he's an innocent. According to out data," the scientist spoke, not wanting to keep anything in the dark at this point. "Muraki Kazutaka had a brother by the name of Shidou Saki. A half brother. They're roughly the same age as well. Apparently, Saki was responsible for murdering Muraki's parents and then trying to kill him. A butler stepped in an prevented Muraki's murder, but had to kill Saki in the process. Kazutaka wasn't on any paranormal radar or anything until he was a practicing physician... and started becoming obsessed with bringing Saki back to life. From what I can piece together, Ootori-san... Saki had inhabited Muraki's body at that time and was seeking to create an immortal form for himself. And..." But before the blond shinigami could continue... the cell phone in his pocket went off. "Ah, gomen... it's work..." he spoke before flipping open the cell. "Moshi moshi?"

"I'm sorry...I'm sorry..." Tsuzuki kept apologizing, as if it were programmed in his mind, hard wired somehow into his system. "I just got distracted...I was thinking...of something that happened a long time ago." he fell silent and let Muraki tend to his hand, even as the wound sealed itself shut. The shinigami couldn't help but be bothered by the thought, still. He wondered where Hisoka was, how he was doing, if he was angry or not. Even so, it didn't matter. He couldn't do anything about any of it, either way. "It's just been a hard time for both of us, ya know." he smiled broadly, standing up, covering his pains and insecurities up, like he had always been so good at doing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``
Tatsumi's grin became a full blown smile when he heard his genki partner's voice come on the other line. He was glad nobody was there to see such a thing, though. "Watari-san...I was going over paperwork, and I noticed that your latest report is lacking in several key points of information. It would never pass if we were audited. Can you come in to make corrections....or are you busy?" the shadow master asked, the last part of the sentence sounding rather pressing.
"It's alright. Really." Muraki replied as he stood at the same time as the shinigami. "Maybe you should get some rest, Asato-kun... I bet even shinigami need sleep, ne?" the doctor asked. He was actually rather curious as to what shinigami DID need and DIDN'T need... but he figured he could easily explore the possibilities of that later.
~ ~ ~
"Well, I..." Watari paused. Of course he was busy. There was an angel who was apparently being hunted and who seemed to be in love with a demon... and also the guardian of Muraki who had been tortured by Saki in the doctor's guise. And there was a demon who was singed have to death and seriously couldn't be trusted not to burn down the entire apartment if Ootori had another panic attack. Then there was the little problem of Saki being sealed inside of Muraki and the fact that the scientist himself needed to figure out just how to transfer Saki's soul into his own body before Saki broke the seal on his brother. Not to mention Tsuzuki's, more than likely, semi-fragile mental state of late. "Su... sure... I can be there in just a few minutes. Let me grab 003 and I'll head over." hanging up the phone, Watari looked to the angel and demon. "I'll be back. My boss's secretary needs me to finish filling out some paperwork... more than likely funding requests... I tend to make a lot of those." he smiled slightly before whistling. 003 hooted in return, but didn't leave the gently stroking fingers of Ootori. "Yare yare... will you two take care of her until I get back?" Watari asked, before heading to his closet. The blond pulled out a spare lab coat, donning it to avoid suspicion, since his other was in charred bits on his living room floor, before disappearing out the door.
It didn't take too terribly long to traverse the paths to work via a few quick teleportations. Eventually, Watari was standing outside Tatsumi's office... and knocking on the door.
"Actually, we get tired, but we don't really need sleep, per se." the shinigami clarified, probably taking the question a little more seriously than he needed to. Picking up the teacup, he handed it to Muraki. "Your tea is ready..." he said, somewhat sheepishly. He had embarrassed himself enough for one night and hoped he wouldn't say or do anything else foolish in front of the doctor. Taking a seat at the table, he laid his head down on top of his hands, which were folded in front of him. "If anyone needs to rest, it'd be you, Kazu. I worry about you, ya know."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Having worked at a constant pace since getting off the phone with Watari, Tatsumi was rather relieved to hear a knock at the door. If nothing more, it meant he would get a short reprieve from the work...and he would get to see his partner. One of his more...private....delights. Watari didn't know it, but Tatsumi enjoyed his company above all others. "Come in!" he called happily, clearing the papers from his desk.

Holding the cup of tea in his hands, letting it's warm tingle through his arms, Muraki smiled slightly. "I worry about me too." he replied before sitting down at the table opposite of Tsuzuki. "But even if Shinigami don't need sleep... you still look like you could use some." Of course, the doctor knew he needed sleep himself, and fully intended to get it as soon as possible. Of course... there was still that underlying fear that even if he got to sleep, even if he closed his eyes and drifted into dreams... Saki would come to the forefront. And he would kill the amethyst-eyed shinigami who sat before him, in a heartbeat.
~ ~ ~
Stepping into the pristine office, Watari gave Tatsumi an impromptu salute. "Yo! You needed something regarding my paperwork, Tatsumi-san?" he asked, moving forward until he was sitting in front of the kagetsukai's desk, in one of the empty chairs. "Gomen ne? I've been a bit busy lately, and paper work's been farther from my mind than anything it seems."
