At the beginning of night fall, Anselm suited up to head into town. He decided to tinker with the teleportation device to increase its range. He was limited to specific areas, but he did not know if it was because of power or distance.
Regardless, he formed in the center of a park and walked about. He ran into the streets and climbed a wall with his claws. He used a radio transmission and headed to the docks, where a crime was in progress. There had been a murder.

A rather silent bluish long haired woman, headed to her apartment above the bookstore where she worked from the grocery store. As she carried the bag of groceries in one hand, her other held a book which was open and she was clearly enthralled in the book's contents. Which caused her to not pay attention to where she was walking exactly, veering from the sidewalk into the middle of the road, though still managing to continue forward.

Emily had goten tired waiting for the stranger to make a move. So after checking on Erika, who was asleep, she made her way to a bookstore. She chose it because most people wouldn't be in a book store when it was getting dark out. As she felt the person trailing her veer into an ally way, she saw a woman reading a book walk into the middle of the street. "Look out!!!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. She looked around, noone else was in the general vacinity but a taxi coming straight for the woman.

The young woman with the book seemed not to notice or hear Emily. And didn't seem to notice the taxi since it wasn't quite dark enough for the taxi to put on his lights..

Erika had woken up and wanted to do some street prowlin'. She found Emily, and a taxi racing for a woman. Erika jumped in front of the taxi, and used her electric power to disable the taxi's engine. The damn thing kept coming, and nailed Erika before stopping.

The young woman continued reading and walking until she stepped on Erika.. Looking away from her book she blinked at the girl, a little confused as to why someone would be laying down in such a place--if she had wounds, the young woman had yet to notice..

Emily got back from calling 911 from a phone in the bookstore. She ran up to Erika, trying desperatly not to cry. "It's going to be fine, you'll pull through. Understand?". She hoped that Erika didn't have much, if any, internal damage. She turned at the woman, who by know Emily assumed was deaf, and made sure she got eye contact. "You, what were you doing! There's reasons people don't read and walk!".
((Shouldn't be talking, I do it all the time xp ))

The young woman blinked, unsure of how to react to the distressed lady. She didn't realize she had been the reason Erika was injured.. With a slightly confused look, she pulled out a pad and wrote:
I am always reading at this time when getting my groceries.. Shouldn't you be more concerned for your friend..?

Erika struggled to move. "Don't worry...I'm...fine..." The confidence of her words were swept away by a cough of blood.

Emily turned and checked Erika again. "Don't speak, it'll make it worse", she said. Turning back to the deaf lady she said, "I'm not sure you realize it, but you almost got hit by a taxi. My friend saved you". Emily knew the lady didn't try to get Erika hurt, but she could've been more careful.

As the ambulance wheeled in, The young woman wrote on her pad of paper again,
Thank you.
and then she showed it to Erika before they put her in the ambulance.. She then wrote on the paper again and handed it to Emily:
I live above the bookstore and work in there as well. If it is alright, please let me know which hospital and room number when you find out so that I can visit your friend for a more proper thank you.
((Gosh... I'm really not feeling good right now... I brought the ambulance in so that we could get going on instead of standing in the road.. n.n; wink )
