Oh, Vindicated, why don't you just ask Walk, since he was the previous Phantom Master, and all? Actually, you could really ask loads of people. I know I understand it; I'm pretty sure Skyko does, too. (I remember him arguing about it a looong time ago.)
But yah, best chance would be Walk, since he was previous Master. 3nodding Not to say you can't ask Gler of course, but still, since Walk was Master.. xD ;

So, do you not know about the Element, in general?
You probably already know that it's a power that uses a bit of both Darkness and Light, if you read the first page of this stickie. However, there's an emphasis on the 'bit' of both elements- Phantom is the neutral element between the two. This means that there aren't any sole powers that are derived from the name, unlike Wind, which has basics of 'picking up objects w/ air.' Therefore, all powers that you create are based mainly on creativity, since it's really a 'different' type of element. For example, Walk decided to have a two-person personality. He'd have an evil side, and he'd have a 'normal' side. This power does not exactly scream, "Phantom", but it's similar enough, and fits in well with the Element name, as well.
If you wish to become Master, you could probably set up your own rules on what to do. Basically, Phantom is almost like a clean slate, or poster, and you can do anything you want w/ it, right now! Phantom can probably be described in different ways, since there are currently no set rules for it. I encourage you to play around with different ideas, if you wanna be a Phantom User. ^^ I remember there used to be threads regarding on ideas for what type of powers Phantom peoples should have, and there was always a bunch of contriversy. So yaah.

I read probably about half of this thread, but then it stopped being really relevant to Phantom powers, so...
But I think I get the really, really basic jist, but I'm still not sure what it does, exactly.
Like you said, about Wind elementals being able to pick up objects using air, what would Phantom do? Would it be like... telekinesis, sort of? Probably not... that's not very element-y... >.<
So; it's a mixture of light and dark. There is no 'stronger' part- it is the shade of grey in between the two. It is both, and neither. It's like Yin and Yang, right?
I think I sort of get the basic gist of what it is... but I don't understand the technicalities.
Would we be able to make objects for offense and defense with our powers? Would we be able to "phase", or melt through objects, like the literal meaning of 'phantom'? Or is it something different entirely?
Gah... so confusing...!

I may just be an apprentice for this element but I think that with the power of light that we have we can make difrent types of wepons and stuff and with the power of darkness we can make portals of difrent sizes.
That's just my thought of it.

phoenix Alchemist I may just be an apprentice for this element but I think that with the power of light that we have we can make different types of wepons and stuff and with the power of darkness we can make portals of difrent sizes. That's just my thought of it. Ooooh!
Would we be able to separate the light half and dark half? I'm not sure... @.@ Gler <.< Also, toying with the word, 'phantom', you could have some ghost powers, as well. 3nodding Heehee... Oh, we could have some fun with this...

- Blast of energy/phantom power?
- Shields of phantom energy?
- phasing through objects?
- playing with people's souls?
- copying a power of another element for ten minutes?
- splitting the power into light and dark, at a great toll on the elemental?
- telepathy?
- weapons of phantom power?
- shape shifting (dis-assemble molecules and slip them back together in a different form?
- portals?
- can slip into astral projection?
I just made these up quickly, so you can pick a few, discuss them, etc.
Do what you want, really.

well, you're power, in my mind, manifests as a grey-ish glow colour, which is a mix of black and white, light and dark. So, essentially you could 'split' the colours apart again, and work with two different power bases, instead of one. ne?

See, I've been 'training' as an air apprentice since April >.< and I STILL have sucky control, so I couldn't create anything TOO big without it going out of control, and without taxing myself greatly. Ne?
