Meridith kept reading for another 30 minutes. Putting down the book, she reached into her jacket and pulled out various scraps of paper and wood. Thinking about what she just read she slowly applied power to a piece of paper, trying to heat it so it flash dried with out burning. It combusted. Swearing she took another piece of paper to the sink and wet it down then tried again. This time a small column of steam burst from the paper before it began smoldering. Frowning she did the same thing again, this time focusing on the water not the paper. A moment later a flash of steam erupted from the paper and the paper was perfect for use again. "Yes." she pumped her arm against her side then began manipulating the wood in the air around her. The wood flew in intricate patterns and she focused on igniting them all at once and keep the wood from burning. Sweat began beading on her forehead and her breath quickened in exertion.

Derrick goes to the water fountain outside of his room, he turns it on and the water sprays, but instead of the water going down the drain it slowly filled up a the air in the shape of a dagger. When the dagger looked comeplete Derrick turned the water fountain off and froze the water into a sharp Ice Blade.

Colin's eyes momentarily widened in irritation when Devin broke the compass. He ignored wolfboy when he left. He sighed. "I suppose it's just as well--addictiveness in magical artifacts is rarely a good sign. I would have liked to examine it more. You can do those things?" he asked Ialo in surprise. "Alright, let's see you melt it then. Pity the spellcaster teacher is dead. Would you know any good offensive spells you could teach me? I think we're going to need all the tricks we can get."

Colin heard a noise directly outside the library. Motioning Ialo to be quiet, he illusioned himself and silently moved to the door. He saw that it was just Luna and released the illusion. "It's not nice to lurk in doorways. People might question your upbringing."

Derrick examined his new dagger as he was walking down the hallway with the song "All that I've got" by The Used stuck in his head. He heard people talking in the hallway and accidentaly cut himself as all of the sudden the sword grew longer. He looked around the turn and thought Oh good it's just some other students He gasped as the sword shrank again. He walked up to the other student who jus tsighed and wondered what was wrong. "Hi. my name's Derrick! What's yours?"
