Douglas smirked. "Meh, it's the exact opposite for me. More somber, less happiness. Life's dreary. I don't believe I've ever once had a human servant or pomme de sang." He sighed, tilting his head up ad rubbing the poked forehead with his palm. "I've heard every city master needs one, but damnit... I just don't find myself... connecting to any humans." He sighed, standing up and then sitting down again.

Nicky ran her fingers along the book shelfs as if she was blind, until she fond a book title that cought her eye. She stopped and pulled the book off the shelf. She started to read the first fue pages. She put the book back up finding the first pages sappy. She sighed and went on. She started to hum lightly as she put her hands behind her. She froze as she spied a book she had wanted to read for a long time, but as useal it was out of her reach. She got closer to the book shelf, stood on her tip toes, and reached for the book.

Alice sighed and took out a small cracker to give to the dove that was in her hands. She looked over at Demetria and seeing how sad-ish the girl looked whispered in the doves ear. The dove then flew over to land on Demetria's shoulder and began to sing. Alice smiled and wondered what would be the rection the girl had.

Demetria smiled at the dove's singing. She loved song birds and wished she could sing along. Her fingers danced as the would on her guitar, the one still in Lord Edward's mansion. She paused from fingering the tune to stroke the dove's chest. It was a magnificent creature, absolutely lovely. True, Demetria had never been one for birds in particular, but she appreciated their grace and beauty none the less. She had listened to the conversations bouncing back and forth between her comrads. She loved how appauled(sp?) Edward was that Douglas didn't host festivals. Festivals were, of course, one of Edward's favorite pass times. As the bird continued it's song Demetria held in the humming that would eventually form into words. That is, if she let it out.

Edward watched as Douglas stood up, and then sat back down, with intrigue. Had there been a point to that? No? Ok. He paid no mind to Alice and her bird, until it landed on Demetria, then he watched them both closely for a bit before deciding that the bird would do nothing harmful. Well, except maybe blow his eardrums out, but even then. He turned back to Douglas still wrapped up in his blanket, amazing how no one had said anything about putting their clothes back on yet, and said, "It's not that hard Doug. .-las," He had to refrain from shortening names and giving him a nickname now. "I'm sure you'll find someone willing, it's awfully hard to resist when you're as cute as that." Edward gestured to Douglas' person from under his blanket. "I had it the hard way and ended up with teenage girls running around and destroying my castle. Not to mention my taste buds." Edward finished, referring to Marie and her constant eating. Eating things that Edward had never even heard of and liked the tastes almost just about as much as he liked their names, which wasn't much at all in fact.

"Meh, maybe." Douglas looked out the window again, his eyes glazing over. "But who would really want a childish mate?" He looked down at himself then back out the window. "I heard it's something akin to a wife, or a lover, the pomme-de-sang. So why would anyone want..." Douglas looked back at Edward, then gestured down at his body with a swoop of his arms. "This?"

Edwards shook his head at Douglas, "You see, it's just that kind of thinking that gets you nowhere." He said, "Why, if you didn't think it would be disgusting or weird in some way that you probably would, I'd make you mine if I could. Or the other way around, whichever." Edward said and then sat back into his seat. He thought about how Douglas hadn't grown, how vampirism had affected people, and came up with something. Wasn't there a cure yet? You'd think with how long it had been around, someone could have come up with something or another. If nothing permanent, then temporary at least. He decided to ask. "Douglas, has anyone found a cure yet?" He didn't look at him as he asked, but stared off at the other side of the carriage at something that wasn't there.

"For being so young? None." He glanced at Edward, slightly shocked about the comment he had made. His face was calm and collected, but his eyes betrayed his emotions slightly. There was a glimmer of some odd emotion there, halway between curiousity and apaulment. He glanced away, murmuring loud enough for Edward to hear, "Well, anyway, this youth has it's advantages. No one expects a fatal blow from a kid."

"No one expects anything from a kid." Edward shot back. Heh, which was probably why he acted like one sometimes. Thinking that over, he always did seem to get out of actually doing things when he acted that way, and he grinned. "Well, then I'm going to find a cure." Edward stated, nodding to himself. It was going to be harder then it sounded, but at the moment he didn't much care, he was bored. Edward slouched in his seat, "Are we there yet Alice? I want to flash Murkaki at least once in my lifetime."

At the word flash a small blush crept upon Douglas cheeks. It remeinded him of how, after all these years... he had still not... He shook his head angrily, mentally scolding himself. It was fine, he was a kid. Besides, only creepy male ***** would... once again, Douglas shook his head angrily. He bit his tounge, wincing slightly, but it put the thoughts out of his mind and a slight metallic taste in his mouth.

Alice was looking down at her feet. The conversation had brought bck memorys. As they flooded her mind a single tear dript down her cheek. As she reached up and touched it she said, "we... are nearing..." She sat for a moment and touched her cheek. She was so cold. Her body would never be warm again. Murakai would never. She looked up and said, "Murakai can cure it.... if only for an hour, he can."

"Pfff, I was thinking something a bit more permanent then that." Edward said, "Doug Doug needs to have at least ten more years to grow if he keeps the mentality he has right now." Edward sat back up, so much for not giving nicknames. He couldn't help it dammit! And Douglas was such an easy name to change! Hell, he could be calling Demetria, Demy, or something like that.

"It's fine. I'll find someone who will like me for who I am, or maybe someone around this age. I don't appear too young. I'll find someone who will like me for who I am..." Douglas sighed, leaning forward and putting his elbows on his knees. He shook his head slightly, then plopped his head into his hands, propped on his knees. "I shouldn't change myself just for others."

Nicky took hold of the book and backed up slowly so she would not jerk foreword. Her eyes scaned the area for seating of some sort. She saw a chair off in the distance and walked over to it. She sat down placing her bent legs over one of the arm rests and put her back agenst the other. Then she placed to where it would be out of her way. She openned the book and began to read it.
