"U-uh.....thanks." she murmured, pretending to go through her bag to get the box out again, while hiding her embarassed blush. "I'm not sure if there's any official term, just got bored one rainy day." she said, as she got the box out. The doll sat upright within the bag, looking up at her with that same happy-go-lucky expression. Not really mocking her, but it'd be funny for someone to try and peek in; it'd give them a jump-back reaction.
"Slapjack sounds fun. I remember playing it, but what are the basic rules again? It's been awhile." she said as she sat the bag back down and zipped it up, placing the box on top. "Of course, you're ready to win, aren't you?" she added, taking a closer look at this evil grin with her eyebrow raised; he'd be bipolar or split personality if she had to guess what was with the sudden mood swing he seemed to have. From happy 'it's so cute' expression to evil grin in three seconds flat...it was very odd but possible.
Shriou turned back at Adrienne's shouting. That's when he saw the cat, but only after it was running away and Adrienne chasing it. "Wow, just goes to show that this place isn't always secure..." he sighed, as he made a dash to try and catch up.
Lucy could only stare in wonder as the two teachers went after it. Strange, so worked up over a cat...

[Lol, give me a moment. I'm gonna draw out my next response razz ] The cat ran away from his pursuers and turned another corner. The hallway that the cat ran into was dark, the lights were all off. Probably caused by the lightning storm from the Hurricane. In the middle of the hallway stood a single figure, but it was too dark to see who or what was in the darkness. A tense murderous aura filled the hallway, even the cat itself ran for safety. The subtle flashes from the lighting dimly lit the scene for a moment.  For a moment there, you could see the disturbing smile and the crazed eyes of the figure in the dark. After the light faded from the room, all the hallway lights turned off and a faint wind blew past the two teachers. On the other side of the hallway, the figure grabbed Lucy from behind covering her mouth. In an instant, he pulled her up the stairs, into the darkness of the school. [No, this did not turn into a horror razz You can make the lights turn back on if you want biggrin ] [Oh, I'll be borrowing Lucy for a while] [Btw: I botched the second picture like crazy O.o]

His evil grin toned down a little into a smirk, seeing that he ... surprised the others a bit. "Well, everyone has an equal amount of cards. You don't see your cards and go around in a circle, placing a card face up in a pile, saying, 'A, 2, 3, 4...' etc. If a card is the same as the spoken value, you slap the pile. Slowest takes the cards. If you see a Jack, though, you smack that, regardless of the number spoken. Thus, SlapJack." He continued shuffling. "Oh, and if the top two cards are the same value, you smack that. Sandwiches too." He seemed to be really into it...

Adrienne turned as she heard shuffling and spotted a foot flying out of sight as the lightning lit up the hallway. "Kiyoshi! Up the stairs, something's up!" She shouted, running in the direction of the stair case. She practically threw herself up the stairs and looked around. Maybe she would see something if the abductor wasn't fast enough.

Star went over, leaving Josh to follow her. "I'll play too, but our parents never let us play games. It was always study time, or piano lessons, or something like that." Star explained, after listening to Al's expanation. "Go easy on me, O' Card Master." Star said enthousiastically(sp?).

"Ah, I see! That sounds familiar." Kiyoko could feel the light bulb click again, hopefully not a false alarm. She remembered back on rainy nights, when she and her friends would sit on someone's bed, playing various card games. Slapjack was one of them, and fierce one among the 5 of them. Christine would always get so into it, along with her nice impersonation of Arnold Sch...ya know how it's spelled; guy who played in Terminator. She and Emily would always jokingly compete with each other, with was always entertaining. Mimi would look at them as if they were lost in the head, and Rachel would always break into a song mid-game, so that everyone joined in the festivities. Of course, those were only memories now.....she ran her head across the back of her head, the scar where the stitches once were could still be felt...
She snapped back to reality at the crowd before her. These were her new friends now; at this school, anyways. She really hoped the power didn't go out later; she had so much to tell them on AIM or whatever chat site they were going to be on. She wondered if they were stuck in school too, or if those school systems were smart enough to stay home.
Shriou cursed in his mind as the lights seemed to go out; a few muttered cries of surprise were all that filled the halls for a moment, coming from those heading to the cafeteria at last. Something's not right.....he thought to himself immediately, for the rest of the school was fine, the lighting still working.
He suddenly felt a flash of wind go past him, a figure of some sorts, he tried to grab it, but was too slow. He could hear Lucy's muffled cries of protest, and Shriou knew they had a serious problem. He followed Adrienne up the hall and quickly, hoping their abductor wasn't too far off. Up the stairs was a light switch. Turning it on, he was thankful as the lights returned to working, for they were only turned off to give the stranger a cover of darkness....

Ray had ignored Conall most of the time. He was just glad that Lucy was away from them. She seemed to be in a pissy mood lately since she hasn't been getting anything she wanted. Ray has just been staying in the background for once. It was quite different for him to see things as they are instead of in his perspective. It was almost an epiphany to how this school ran.
Finally joining in Ray said, "Sure I'll play." with a casual shrug. "You seem to have a lot of confidence in your card playing. Let's see if I can break that." he said with a half-smirk, hidden smile. He was sitting down next to Kiyoko, one arm around her waist. He didn't want to loose her and that was more of a habbit for him than anything at this point. He had broken a lot of habbits because of Kiyoko, but some he could just not stop.
Celia too had been quiet. She felt uncomfortable since everyone was ganging up on Conall for such a stupid reason. She shook her head at Al's offer to play cards. "Nah, I'm not in the mood for cards." she said simply. She took Conall's hand. "Want to go somewhere else?" she asked softly, facing him. She still wasn't going to leave him. She didn't agree with everything he did, but she didn't see why everyone was making such a big deal. It was annoying and she just wanted to be seperated from the group at the moment.

Renji pulled Lucy into a dark room, the entire second floor was still shrouded in darkness. Systematically, Renji had turned off the lights from the top floor and down, so that the entire school wouldn't notice. The room Renji had brought Lucy to seemed far and distant. The muffled hum of the chatter in the cafeteria could not be heard. Renji tossed Lucy into the room rather forcefully and locked the door. Inside the room, it was still dark, the entire floor was dark, the room was dark. It was like staring into the void where the void would stare back to you and have comments about your reply.
"Sorry for being so rough, but..." Renji replied, while still being shrouded in darkness. "I have some business with you."

Did you take any of your midterms yet? If so, how was/were is/they?
I feel your pain with fast-moving RPs though. Andizuki, remember the school one from long ago (lol you should)? I missed one day, than got to read 30 pages the next day. eek ))
Kiyoko noticed that Ray had gone a bit quiet. Perhaps he was a deeper thinker than people were willing to admit, who knows. He is usually the one to make the comments and be the center of attention, so this was probably a new experience for him, to watch how stuff works around him. Finally speaking up and joining them, he sat down next to Kiyoko, arm around her waist. She was starting to get used to it a bit, so she didn't mind as she sat there with him, ready for the card game to begin, in his arms.
Upon hearing Celia wanting some time alone with Conall, Kiyoko felt kinda bad for Celia with Conall's behavior issues. She had promised herself to give the guy a chance for Celia's sake, but that last move was just a bit ridiculous on his part. Heh, mabye it's cause she doesn't like bullies very much herself.
Lucy felt herself hit the ground in an empty room, her heart pounding. Just what the *insert explict here* was going on?! The room was dark no matter where she looked, and for a moment she felt around her face, in case there was a blindfold she wasn't aware of being there.
She recgonized the voice immediately; it was Renji. She had to keep her cool, despite what was going on. "And what is this business, exactly?" she asked him coldly, bringing the old Lucy back out for defense sake. "If you're trying to get yourself expelled, you're doing a FINE job, I must say."

"Calm down, I'm not gonna kill you (well, unless you want me to). I just need to talk to you for a moment." Renji walked close to Lucy, nearly face to face. Under the darkness, you could barely see Renji's facial features. It seemed that Renji had no problem navigating around in the extreme darkness. "You see, I'm just like you, born in a family of two rich parents whom I both despise. Realizing that you hold a lot of power in your hands, you decide to lavish yourself with whatever money could buy... then you realize money can't buy happiness. You get angry at everything because you can't obtain that one thing, that one reason why you're angry, it makes you paranoid about everything. You end up going to extremes to get what you want!"
Renji walked closer towards Lucy, his face nearly touching hers. "That's why when I heard about you, I took an interest in you." Renji chuckled as he spoke, "that's why I've decided to help you obtain whatever you want: money, fame, perhaps love. That is, if you help me.. no, both of us, to become invincible."

This was freaking Lucy out a bit; this wasn't the Renji that was out there earlier. ONE, how did he know about this crud? TWO, why should she work with him? What could he possibly want? THREE, why was he comparing them together? It was a bit creepy, not to mention that she couldn't see why he hated his own parents; at least they were showing interest in him lately.
She backed up to the wall abit, to get rid of the pressure between the closeness of their faces; it was irritating. "I can obtain what I want by myself, thank you; I don't need the help of a stalker. It sounds more like you can't get over your own problems, and well, 'misery wants company' is the saying, eh?"

"Now hold on a minute, who said I was miserable? I just wanted some fun, and exactly, you sounded like the perfect catalyst." Renji's face tightened a bit, "by all means, I love this world, I can do anything I want, and no one is willing to stop me. Not after I pay them off. Anyway, I was thinking recently, what do I do to become invincible? Now thinking that it's impossible to physically be invincible, I realized that it wasn't the fact that the person was invincible, it was his ideals, his memories! So, I concluded that I should find someone of similar abilities and experiences to be that person to pass it over to!"
He backed away from Lucy, freeing up some space between them. "Now, what would you do if you had information about a certain group of people, possibly enough to cause them pain and misery, but had no value for knowing the information? Of course, I would pass it onto the person who could possibly use it, which is you." Renji laughed cynically, "Hypothetically speaking, what would happen if I had a certain bit of information that involved you attempting to kill a certain someone? What would the police say to that?" Renji walked towards the door, opening the lock. "Well, it's all up to you. You can leave this room, and we'll pretend nothing happened and things may or may not happen, or... well, you know the other option."

It took Lucy several moments to digest this speech, for it was quite the tounge twister of second meanings and metaphores. It sounded more like he wanted a good time with....messing with people?
She could feel the heat turn on from under her as he made that last comment. Now, she never tried to kill anyone (although this CERTAIN SOMEONE was merely being put into their place). However, it could be looked at it like that. Or, did he mean something else?
"Ok ok, no need to get fussy. So, before I agree to anything, let me see if I've got it right this time: you are looking for someone with similar ideals to pass on information to, to mess with others, to make their life a mess?" she asked him, her voice now going sweet as to now she could see that there was a small misunderstanding on her part. "And this helps you on your dream to become invincible...how?"

"Ahh, yes... the question. Although, I have to say, there is no particular reason why this will help me become invincible. I have to say, it makes me feel superior. Memories, they define the human being in question, a man who is tortured in his childhood will lash back at the public, one who lives a wonderful life, will become president. Now what is the most powerful weapon in the entire world? Words... words allow humans to give ideas to another person, love, hatred and all that other junk -- which in turn, create memories." Renji paced around for a moment, "Say.. if that Jewish professor didn't reject Hitler and told him that he would amount to nothing, would WWII have happened causing millions of Jewish people to die? Who knows, but someone planted that hatred into that man's brain. (Though to say, we're not trying to start a war here)"
"Now you're probably confused from my frequent tangents. You see, my ideal about living, and life itself is control. By using information, may it be falsified or not, I can get people to do things that are unexpected." Renji walked back to the door, "now, to pass on my ideals, I need someone who can control others, by words, deception, by whatever means possible. That is my ideal to becoming invincible, to make my own life live on through another, and in turn, it will continue by passing the same ideal over and over again."

For the first time in awhile, Lucy smirked, and quite evily. It finally hit her. Finally. He wanted to spread info on someone, and make his/her life miserable. "Ahhh, now we're making sense here! Why didn't you just say that, silly?" she teased him, almost child-like for a moment. But she returned to her old self almost instantly as she got up and walked towards him; she could sort of see him, despite it still dark. "So, you want me to plant false ideas (or, rumors, I guess) into other people, and then it spreads and spreads, messing up the life of the one who is spoken about. Makes sense, and it does give one that sense of power you mentioned. Now I see why you came to me for that; I could work with that. Last questions (I hope) are, who is it and why? And...what was with the dramatic kidnapping? All that does is raise suspicion among the teachers." she pointed out; brainiac or not, that was really stupid on his part.

"The teachers are a mere trifle, by kidnapping you, I cause them fear. Now they'll be on alert, what I had planned is that: there is someone prowling through the halls, which is me. This will cause the teachers to step up their act. They'll make sure everyone is in one place, then we can begin the rumors. News travels faster when we're stuck in a cage." Renji laughed cynically again, "now the fun part of this is that, I have no specific target. But if we're aiming for a particular someone, it would be the group that foolishly trust me as one of their friends. Uh.. the group with that girl you despise."
"You may want to know the reason I'm doing this. In this school, I have planted hundreds, maybe thousands of miniature cameras located all over the school, well, except the girls washroom." Renji rubbed his head for a bit. "these cameras all simultaneously record the entire school so nothing is missed. What I want, is to create the biggest commotion/high school drama and broadcast this chaos to the entire world via the internet. It'll be a masterpiece of how powerful a few words can be!"
