((So let me see if I understand this.
XP helps you level up, which gets you three ability points (and then new stats spill out from all of that)
Skill points come from the INT stat, but you have to train to acknowledge those skills and also to learn new jutsu.
But these trainings we're doing here... can they be used to increase my Int stat, if successful? Or is it just more training to lend atmosphere to the academy up until graduation... both are good, as far as I'm concerned. But I'd love to have this way to bump up my stats without having to level up smile ))
Tao grabbed the cube once more, and made another attempt to progress a little further. After all, he could put the cube down whenever he wanted. He could take his time and slowly come to the solution, rather than try to grind it out as soon as possible.
Sure, he could put it down whenever he wanted. He just... couldn't... no wait... DIDN'T... want to put it down right now. Yeah, that's right. He was in total control...

((For the next few posts, I'm going to generate twenty rolls... if the sequence leads to success, or failure, I'll then edit the posts accordingly to add information... but if I'm failing with this next post, then I'll do that tomorrow. If I succeed, I'll do it now. Each roll of the dice will be given at least four lines of text... four lines as they appear in this lil input window, at least.
I need to get 14, 16, and 18 in that sequence, with whatever delays may be in the way. If I get all the way there, it'll be assumed all the other roles never happened.))
EDIT: ((Wow that backfired... now i get to type at least eighty lines that will get me back to where I started. And then I need to try it all over again. Oh well, I'll do it tomorrow... but for posterity, I'm gonna make one more 20-roll post and hope for the best. And maybe I'll write 160 lines to show my failure ^_^))

[[no, what their saying is, while your in the academy, any and all posts and training done here don't count toward EXP. Cause you gotta do them. However, if you were to go to some other thread here in Iwa and do some training you would get EXP. However, you wouldn't level up until AFTER you graduate the Gennin Exam. So you just keep a runnin total of your EXP till that point.
After you graduate, you automatically get bumped up a level. At taht point you can then apply your accumulated exp to the new amount you need to level up. To get boosts in stats and skills, you both level up and do training that involves things that could be thought of as increasing your intellegence like reading books or meditating on some hard problem or talking with someone more intellegent than you and asking them for advice. Things like that.
Pretty much its up to you to decide what you train in and what happens. However, keep a few things in mind if you do outside training. First is that you can't learn any jutsu OTHER than the academy taught or E rank clan jutsu. Even with the academy taught jutsu, you can only train in them, you can't just learn them by yourself. You have to be taught them by someone else.
Second, different villages grade training differently so if you have characters in different villages, don't expect to get the same exp or bonuses in two different villages. Specially here in Iwa. We grade a lot more generously, IMO, compared to other villages.
Third, don't be afraid to ask i you need help with something or don't understand a piece of training or need some ideas for training. Most of the crew are pretty nice (I can be a b*****d and a half when I feel like it)]]

((Still the question then. Since the rubix cube thing is an optional INT training thing, does it count for experience? Could I, theoretically, post all 240 lines obligated by the three posts above in another thread (using the rolls already generated here) to work on the cube, and get xp that way? Or since its optional anyway, does it count as experience even though I'm physically on the grounds of the academy?
And while I'm here... 240 becomes 360 unless i get 14, 16, 18 in a row. WOOSH!))
EDIT: ((Well... that got me to 14. Will probably do single posts from here on out, but I'll be doing those tomorrow/once the above question is answered.))

[[well, go read the first thread in the exp forum. it stats clearly that any posts in the academy will NOT count toward exp. so in other words, these won't count. You can use these rolls but you have to post the actual rp someplace else. ]]
Roy slowly began to walk back into the academy. He was getting bored now that people were settled. He wondered what Gig and Keiko were doing to the poor students now. He looked in on the class and looked around.
[[i gotta ask though, what exact are those rolls for? i mean, ok i know what their for but when I read your wording, it doesn't make much sense to me. I think your making things harder for yourself. XD remember, your characters still a kid so try to make the training believable. just for future reference]]

((Okay, I'll take this out of the academy then. And while I'm about to make a long few posts, it will end up being fairly realistic. He's working on a rubix cube, which to someone who doesn't know the trick would take forever, and all of Tao's early stats will be almost entirely put into INT, with a bit of DEX and CHK here and there, so this training will make sense in the long run
And what the hell *generates a last back of rolls*))
"This place is cursed," Tao muttered as he grabbed the cube, and headed off into the village. "I'll be back when the next lesson begins," he announced to whoever might care.

Asternyx nodded and took the cube from Giglamesh, observing it with calculating eyes. The child took a seat on an empty bench, carefully turning the cube over in her hands. It was on rare occasions...but she had seen these rubix cubes...when non-shinobi merchants would come to Konoha on business trades. Well...many of the children not in large shinobi clans greatly adored the toy...but the Hyuugas didn’t think much of it. After all, there mental and intelligence training was more on...memorizing volumes whole, lessons on logic and meditating for hours straight. Which needless to say, was very boring... She could see why the other shinobi children would be interested in these cubes...a much more appealing choice of a past time.

It was past noon... Asternyx hadn't brought anything to eat and her stomach grumbled lightly. The child tucked the cube into her right sleeve, got up, bowed once to the female teacher...once to the giant teacher...before quietly excusing herself and slipped off from the Academy. She will be off for only a short while...for lunch... Asternyx pretty much knew her way around, to the Academy at least by now... If everything went well, logically speaking, she should be back in time for the next lesson.

((I know they dont get expereince for the lesson, and apon reaching genin the auto level up to 2, but this exorcises are not required and simply extra traning in certian aspects. These have nothing to do with those required lesson's so despite being in acdemy should count for somthing. As i know there is a set time between the next exam unless everbody finishes early, but in rp terms it would be a pain and akward to take the student to other locations in wich to give them exrta nonrequired traning.))

((There's no need for preferential treatment. The rules clearly state that no in-academy posts count for experience, with no clarification about whether that applies to required or non-required posts. So why not just mention that whenever you assign an optional lesson, that students are free to leave the grounds in order to concentrate, but to return when the next lesson begins? That way we can gain exp, without going against any established rules.))
