"Oh, s**t," Alan replied. "That Darius?"
~~
Legion thought for a moment.
"Prisoners are too hard to control and I don't plan on traveling outside to take people's souls directly yet. We can free them another time. For now, I say we just stick to the school. Which group do you want to go with?"
((The groups are discussed a few pages ago, so there's no excuse for asking what the groups are because Ted heard.))

"Yeah. That Darius," Paul replied, clearly fueled by Robert. "Although Robert claims it wasn't that bad, really, once you got to know 'im. He's pretty serious too, I hear a hint of Irish. Scottish. Whichever it is, I can't remember at the moment.
"So, we know what it is. We know (kinda) who it is. What we don't know is where it is, what condition it's in, or... well, anything else. So we know why Legion wanted Robert. If he wanted him that badly, he'll probably come on a little hunt for him, although I suppose that's kinda the point of nearly all the fighting we've been doing so far - recruitment. So, knowing this, I believe we can presume that most of the others who came are powerful on a similar scale. And since we don't even know where the heck Darius is, it sounds like they'll pull their tricks outta the bag faster than I will. So we're at a disadvantage, no?"

"We know why, exactly, Legion would've wanted you, though," Alan commented. "Darius was one of a very small number of demons Legion could not control by his own brute force or negotiation. As for injury... unlikely. We-..."
"Wait, Alan, why aren't you just teleporting us instead of driving us?" Josh interrupted, coming out of his several-minute-long period of brooding.
"Because teleporting people takes a lot of preparation and rest. It takes time we don't have," Alan replied with a shrug.

((Obviously I am missing important details, even if I read something before. Just drop me into one of the groups, and I can go from there))
Ted just groaned. He didn't get to go to the prisons. Guess there wasn't anything he could do about it, except for kill Legion and run off on his own, but the protests from Hideki were deafening. {You will do no such thing. He could kill you before you moved your pinky finger.}
Relax, man. I'm no dumb, just playing out my options. That's the only one to go to the prison, and it ain't worth it.

Once again, Siber was busily splitting his consciousness to demi-summon the first-level Anahata so he could at least be doing something constructive while he waited for something to happen. The only thing was that it was making his fingers sweaty while he played. He was sure Laura was looking at him strangely, but the conversation had died, and he didn't have anything else to do until the party got back to them. *byoop-byoop...byoop-byoop...byoop-byoop......bling!* 'Siber caught a Scyther!'
There was a pause. <...we are pathetic.>

Linda was, in fact, occupied trying to safely make fire revolve around her finger without burning.
~~
Legion rolled his eyes at Ted's hesitation.
"Go with Gurul and Joe, then. We can always use more fire on the civilians. Anyway, it's time to go over what we're doing about Joshua... he who holds the Fists of the Titan. First, what do you all know of him?"

Joe's eyes lost focus as he began to call on his memories. "Let's see...the Fister. As a person, I don't think we know anything about him. Not really much chance to talk while he's trying to smash us. However, as a fighter, I've seen that he can knows both how to fight as well as knowing how to hand control over to the Fists when it will be better for him. A dangerous combination."

Samuel spoke up. "Indeed. As well, he seems to have some sort of grudge against Gurul, or at least against those who heartlessly kill civilians for pleasure. He is rather difficult to outrun, in truth. He even endeavored to climb up the side of a skyscraper in pursuit of me. It was quite the sight, really. From his grudge-like actions towards me/Gurul, I would assume that he and the group he stands with think themselves "righteous" and "moral" and view us as the opposite." He twiddled his fingers and looked around at his companions.

Legion turned to Samuel.
"Exactly," he said with a smile. "He is nigh unstoppable in combat; I learned that a long time ago. He can achieve minor alterations of gravity, even, but those take a lot out of him, so he tries to avoid it.
"His hand-to-hand prowess is unmatched. He sees himself as being the protector of the innocent; this is to some extent true, of course. The best way to get him off of your ally is to put a civilian in immediate danger. Luckily, he hasn't yet made the connection that by prioritizing your death over a single innocent, he saves all innocents you might get your hands on later."
He sat on the open air.
"Of course," he added, "Once you've slain or endangered civilians, he will remember you."

Siber finally tired of playing the game, saved, flipped it off, and hid it away in his pockets. will have to find some better way of entertaining myself.>
The boy located the three superballs he had in his jacket and started juggling them against the floor.
Siber bade the one dæmon goodbye and started quietly summoning up the other, which required him to put the balls back away so he could concentrate.
He grabbed an empty chair and looked over one technician's shoulder, trying to decipher the various graphical interfaces and streaming characters. "Hey, are we allowed to have cell phones in here? Someone might be calling me in the next hour or eighteen."

"Cell phones are fine," the Technician informed him distractedly. He was going over some sort of interface that seemed to involve vector graphics of the city from a bird's-eye view and, oddly enough, a trackball and a tablet.

Ted just nodded at the command, and just settled back until it was time to leave. He didn't have much else to do, but he suddenly perked up at the info he was getting. This Fister, or Joshua, or whatever, was a fighter. Hand to hand, as well. That would be interesting to see.

"Why, though, could Darius not be harnessed?" Paul asked. "What precisely was it that Robert had that Legion doesn't?" Then, he shook his head. "Duh. A heart. Buuuut... that doesn't explain why Darius liked Robert any better. Does it?"

Alan shook his head. "Darius dislikes Legion for a number of reasons. First is, he's stronger than any single one of the demons who corrupted Legion, with maybe four or five exceptions."
"The second," Josh continued for him, "Is that Legion has been in direct conflict with him enough times, that he refuses to be in his presence any more out of sheer annoyance. Working through Robert allowed him to further various demonic corruption, etcetera goals, while not having to put up with the b*****d."

Tracking ball plus graphics tablet? This equals... Keldan sounded uncomfortably excited.
He watched the technician at work for a while. Clearly, he was tracking the progress of a something. That something, though, appeared only as a blip on the screen. Given it was traveling roads, it seemed reasonable enough to assume the object of interest was a car.
if you do, I'm flattered and a little impressed by the sheer creativeness your stupidity.>
Siber didn't even grace it with an answer. At least the numbers he was watching on the pointer to the blip seemed to be dwindling, which hopefully meant the target would soon reach them.
