More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

"Nah, Sill did this. This your room?" Liv responded to Trinity. She got up and sat down on the bed before letting herself fall on it. She was too damn tired and this bed was too damn comfortable.

She looked down to the bed remembering the fond memories they have sharing this bed. "Yeah… Theonis' and my room." It was beginning to pain her to even say his name now. It wasn't obvious she focused on the task at hand. "So why did Sill bring us here? What did I miss?"

Deora followed Damien to find Kerana, which wasn't all that hard. Damien beat to her to the fox girl, and tried his best to comfort her, from what she could tell. She wasn't too surprised by Kerana's confusion, she'd actually seen the boy change, and she was still confused. "It's us Kerana. Me and, uh, Damien. Come on out of there so we can talk. I think I saw an ice cream place in the food court."

Sill thought how she would approach telling them about everything. She figured it'd probably be best to see what they knew.

"Before I get started, I'd like to know what everyone here knows about the meteors. Or rather, what you think you know."

Rydia spoke up immediately.

"We saw it as cheating. Powers obtained easily by the meteors could be attained by working the spirit and the body. The hard work results in stronger magics and abilities."

Freya shook her head. "Bullshit. I just got these powers, and they are worlds above what I learned from Dad. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I'm as fast and as strong as I am, but I could have mastered these auras by now if I wasn't told to stay away from the meteors."

Damien stated, "I'm a girl now." in a way that made it sound like it was something that happened all the time.

"Deora told me I wasn't allowed in this bathroom because I was a boy, so I fixed the problem." she explained.

"I agree with Deora's suggestion. I've found that ice cream improves my mood when ingested."

Theresa had immediately shuffled into the corner of the room. Her panic settled when she saw that no one was interested in her at the moment. The women seemed to be interested in what the black thing was saying.

Her eyes shifted toward the door. She looked back at the women and watched them for a moment. There seemed to be an argument between the two animal ones, and the other two were lying on the bed.

Theresa began to shuffle toward the door as silently and as slowly as she could.

Charles Ray was not looking well as he was escorted through Valhalla and toward the office that he was told Theonis had arranged for the meeting.

Heather was pacing nervously in front of Theonis as they waited.

"And you're sure he just wants to talk? I don't think I need to remind you of, literally, how scary he can be." she said to Theonis.

The guard that was in front of Ray rapped on the office door to inform Theonis of their presence.

"I am sure of it. He didn't look too good and he said it was very urgent." Theo replied to try and calm her down a little. "Do you want me to be here while you talk with him?" He asked and opened the door after a few seconds when the guard knocked.

Theo acknowledged the man with a small nod and let him in.

"Cheating means you wanted it. None of us did. Well besides Freya here. We weren't given a choice. It was forced on us. And what's this about magic? As far as I know... us common folk don't even have that." Liv responded lazily and yawned afterwards

Sill looked turned her gaze to Liv and said, "What you and the other meta humans call 'powers' the elves called 'magic.' Long ago, magic was available to anyone who put in the work and had an affinity toward it. It was a natural means of accessing the source that we showed your people thousands of years ago."

She took a deep breath to prepare herself for what she was about to say.

"Our purpose was to prepare humanity, and all other races we cultivated, for the inevitable arrival of The Decaelum. Which, for simplicity's sake, I feel I should here after refer to by the name ancient humans made for it...Hell Star."

"You see, the meteors are actually seeds produced by The Hell Star."

Rydia's arms dropped along with her jaw.

Freya was far more vocal.

"What. The. ******** are you talking about?!"

Theresa began to shuffle toward the door as silently and as slowly as she could.

Trinity was paying attention to Sill but noticed movement from where Rock was sitting. She smirked a little and sealed the door's edges making it unable to open for the moment.

Her eyebrow quirked when she heard that all the meteors that had affected them over the years came from a source from space. "So Dusk is some how trying to make that happen. Have the Hell Star arrive here sooner. What will happen then? The end of the world? You said that you've been preparing us to stop this, how do we do that?"

Liv's eyes lit up and the All-Seeing-Eyes formed.

"They found a way past Umbra and Lumen's realms. So it begins again. The time has come for us to raze the source and allow the Hicce to grasp their birthright." Liv repeated the words of Crosis. The eyes vanished again and her own returned. From an orb of light the shape of one of the Hell Star formed. She did her best to make it look as how she had seen it.

Liv didn't appear to be as surprised by what Sill had said. Her eyes granted much knowledge so it felt as if she had known it already but forgotten. It would take her some time to get used to it.

"So let me get this straight...magic was a preparation to their arrival. It was a natural means. Somehow that got lost along with your cousins. And the meteors are a quick way to gain powers. The meteors. Seeds of the ones trying to get in. The same things that we get our powers from. So basically their means of arrival are the same means for us to get power?"

Sill took a moment to gather her thoughts.

"Yes...and no. I'm not entirely sure how it all began, but I'll do my best to convey what our parents told us."

"Eons ago, my people existed without incident. They didn't label themselves, because it created division. We did not have names for our cities, because we were one people. Even the world we lived on was simply referred to as Terram, or ground."

"The only thing that truly gave us difference were our facultatum, our abilities. Not only did our abilities grant us skills to survive, build, and invent, but they also dictated our appearance."

"Our abilities were developed over time as we grew from adolescence to adulthood. We didn't know where they came from, and we didn't label it as anything more than Ortus, or source. There were those among us that were able to view a person's source as a physical entity. The best description they could give was looking at our sources like keyholes."

"When my brother and I were born, the war was already well underway. My mother said that it rained fire one day, as though the stars themselves were falling from the sky. They had seen meteoron before, but the event they described was different. It was a downpour. They came to call the Hell Star's meteors chasma."

"Those who were struck by the chasma, or came into direct contact with them, were overtaken by their source and lost control of themselves. The fortunate ones...how do you say...exploded. Simply erupted where they stood and scored the land. The others became horrors that acted only to create more like them."

"But there were those among my parent's generation that were immune to the effects of the chasma. They banded together and fought valiantly to save their world. I remember there was actually a faint glimmer of hope for a few days near the end. But then the Hell Star came."

"It blocked the entire sky. and so it was given the name Decaelum. We estimated it to be a quarter the size of our world. It just...hovered over us...watching...and eating."

"Those that had exploded had infected the land with a foul, fleshy miasma that eventually birthed a great beast that we called The Legio. It was then we surmised that the chasma were sent to our world in advance to prepare it for consumption by the Hell Star. All hope was lost then."

"Our parents, using a taboo ability, confined the Hell Star and it's minions to their world. My mother, Umbra, and her cousin, Lumen, created a two part barrier that would keep them out of the world the others had created as a parallel to their own. The barriers are what are known to Trinity and Liv as the shadow realm, and the light realm."

She took a moment to pause, so that the girls could ask any questions they may have as that point.

Theo acknowledged the man with a small nod and let him in.

Heather thought for a moment before she shook her head.

"No." she sighed. "But I'd like it very much if you stood outside the door. Could you?"

The guard stepped aside and allowed the pale Charles Ray entry. He nodded in appreciation to the guard before addressing Theonis.

"Thank you again for arranging this." he wheezed.

He then looked to his daughter and straightened up. As confident as he looked, his voice gave away a smidgen of joy to see his little girl.

"Helena."

Heather crossed her arms and puffed smoke from her nostrils. Her eyes narrowed and her pupils contracted to vertical slits.

"...Charles."
