Mjem, put the layer on "multiply" mode. This will also make it so that your layer won't affect any of the other layers, so you can do things like color without ruining your lines.

XD I just figured out why some of our button things didn't match, your tutorial isn't for the same version of GIMP as the latest one stressed I don't know how to get to the layers dialogs box, thing on this new version...or where the multiply thing is...I'm trying to lineart this thing for an avatar art thread and I'm really trying to make it good and I love your tutorials blaugh *buttering up for being a hassle on Zeph*
