Kaori took a moment to respond to Abel and when she did it was to nod her head in reluctant agreement with his words. It was true, the wound on his ear was not serious, and she had no doubt whatsoever in her mind that the woman looked much worse than he. She was stuck on thinking about Selyna and Danaiss when they came to where she had told the sisters to wait.

She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that they were still there. If she were to be honest with herself, the witch would have to admit that she did not think the two would wait for them. Kaori smiled at the to reassuringly and was about to speak, when she heard loud bells ringing through the streets. Startled, the young woman looked over at Abel, not knowing exactly what the bells meant. He was more well traveled than she, surely he would know.

The witch did not have time to ask her question however, as she soon heard shouting in the street, and it was getting closer. Soon, the voices that were shouting were near enough that Kaori could make out the words that were being said, but only just. Something about everyone needing to head inside. She thought she caught something about closing the city gates. Now worried and confused, Kaori looked once again at Abel. "Surely, they do not have a curfew in this city, it is to large to enforce..." she was thinking aloud now, looking up and down the alleyway. She had not seen any vacant inn's on her way to the alley, but then, she had not been looking for any. "If they are ushering people inside... we can't go to an inn, they'd probably be on the lookout for any suspicious looking persons...." Muttering on to herself, Kaori finally looked straight at Abel. "Abel... are you sure that Selyna and Danaiss did not come to the city? I can not imagine Selyna wishing Danaiss' company, not with the way she reacted around him... And Danaiss seemed to be glad to be in the company of more of his own kind..." She was rambling, she knew it, but she could not help it. Her mind was coming up with many different scenarios at once, none of them good.

As she was talking, trying hard to keep her voice down, and failing at moments, the young woman did not notice a door open just a little ways from the small group.

A tall, slim, brown haired woman stepped out of the back door, and, after looking about her, moved quickly towards the group. "Excuse me," she said insistently, "you are strangers to this city, are you not? I heard you from my window. Please, you must come inside with me, it is not safe out here for strangers." The woman's voice held reassurance and had a tone of warmth held within it, but it also held a tone of urgency. She kept looking up and down the alley, standing in shadow, much as the group that she had come outside for was. To be seen outside, talking to strangers... it would not be good for her.

“Let you out?” Jasper cackled, his lips turning up into an immense grin. “I guess one such as yourself could call it that. Though I am sure that we have very different ideas about just how I am going to do that. Jasper stepped further into the room, shutting the door behind him. The thunder boomed and echoed and the little man chuckled as his began to roll up his sleeves.

“But never fear, free you will be, just as soon as we draw your friends out of hiding and we purge you of your damnation.” Jasper’s wrinkled hands move like spiders as he slowly opened the bag and rummaged through the contents of it. “Your freedom will come to you slowly and come it most certainly will, I give you my word. Now then,” Jasper chuckled, his hands pulling out a long, hooked blade whose steel twinkled darkly in the light of the room. His face twisted into a dark smile and his eyes began to burn with a deep intensity. “Which one of you beauties would like to bleed first?”
--

“I don’t give a damn!” Shouted Brakus. “March the Templars and the warriors priests through these city streets both day and night if you have to. We have a week to find these abominations before that damned Inquisitor is going to purify this entire city.” The sergeant nodded back to the captain and began to march off, his plate and mail rattling ominously through the streets. For nearly three hours now they had been searching, searching for the creatures and so far, they had no luck. The short man stroked his great beard. This city was large and had countless places to hide. Brakus was beginning to realize how impossible this hunt was going to be. But he had to try. Had to do something. The idea of his beloved city engulf in the purifying light that Reno swore to unleash filled the Templar captain with new energy and he spurned his horse into a slow gallop as he raced to the great front gate.

--

“So then, the little man is doing what he enjoys most I trust?” Reno said as he walked through the room. He no longer wore the dark uniform of an Inquisitor. His body was now clad in a yellow silk robe. A purple fox was weaved across the chest and the fringes of the royal garment were a deep blue hue. Demetrius stared at his companion with his ever dead pan expression. He was still clad in his wet and muddy attire and had no intention of changing to adopt the finery that was around him. The room was lavish. Deep furred rugs covered every square inch of the cold stones upon the floor. The walls were a green marble with gold and jade inlay decorating every square inch in fantastic murals that danced and dazzled as lightning flashed through the great windows of the room. A deep sofa looked out a window nearby. The bed was a deep thing of many blankets and pillows. This was the room reserved for for the Arch five who governed the church should they decided to visit the city. It was also mean to house the king should he ever venture from the Imperial halls. But now, Reno with his red hair dry once more, strolled through it without a care as he took a small bottle and poured the red wine into a small glass.

“To think.” Reno said sourly. “One day my half brothers and sisters will be able to use this room whenever they want. Yet I, the b*****d, should never be allowed access to it. What a shame.” Reno looked back at Demetrius, who stared steadily at the fox upon the robe, the symbol of the Royal b*****d.

“You carry that wherever you go?”

Reno snorted. “Don’t be ridiculous. Unlike my whelped siblings I can’t afford to have my robes ruined. No this one stay here, hidden. I have fours through the Empire, only four.”

“Then why are you here then if this room is not meant for royal bastards?”

“Because,” Reno said, his voice calm. “I want to enjoy such moments while I can. One day my father will die and that shall be the end of all this type of living. My sisters and brothers hold no love for me and I will be forced to spend the remainder of my days trapped serving the priesthood, hunting anathema and living almost as wildly as they do.” Reno chuckled. “What a life we have chosen.”

“I didn’t choose this life.”

“Reno sighed. “Indeed my old friend, indeed fate was not kind in that regard to either of us. But we shall persevere through. But let the future remain full of unplanned possibilities. I intend to enjoy such moments as these while I can. I am most sure word of where I am currently residing has already reached the arch priestess but she cannot touch me. My father shares his love equal amongst all his spawn and I cannot fault him for a characteristic such as that. Now then, shall we have a toast then?”

“What to?”

Reno smiled and raised the glass to his lips “The final days of this city.”

Cyreanne

PostPosted: Mon Mar 31, 2008 12:23 pm

In the empty house, the formerly unlit fireplace suddenly began to glow, then expelled a burst of heat as the wood broke into open flame. From the fire, a hand extended, followed by its arm and shoulder. The black leather glove enveloping the hand made a soft pat as it hit the ground, and a head of pink hair, followed by a body clad in a purple leather shirt and bright red mini skirt crawled from the flames. As soon as the two black leather boots escaped the fireplace the flames died down and, slowly, disappeared.
Cyreanne rose to her feet and dusted herself off. The house was empty, 'This must be the right one...' She thought to herself as she walked towards the window. She'd been in the city for days, serving as an entertainer in one of the local inns, the exotic woman provided quite the spectacle for those who cared to watch, dancing, singing juggling flaming objects and downing more alcohol than the heaviest sailor; but that's not why she was there. She hoped that if she lingered in the city long enough, the zealot would stop watching her, and she knew that if she waited there long enough, she'd encounter the two she'd met in the forest before her unfortunate incident.
Looking out the window, Cyreanne noted the heat signatures of five figures hiding in the shadows, a grin spread across her lips, then she frowned. If a battle started in this city... She sighed, not wanting to think about the lives that would be lost if the perverted zealot figured out what she was up to and made an attempt to stop her. Though Cyreanne had long since removed the strange parasite that her newfound rival had implanted in her for the purpose of tracking her, she did not doubt that the woman would be able to find her if she but tried. Cyreanne had a bad habit of standing out.
Looking once more out the window at the talking figures, Cyreanne headed to an empty seat by the hearth and sat down. Crossing her legs, she waited for the house's owner to lead them back inside, hoping her unexpected presence wouldn't cause too much excitement.

In the gardens of Ashentor's inner circle, there was a sudden movement from a patch of earth. It swirled about itself and rose, like tentacles it writhed as it moved into the air inspiring fear and confusion amongst the guards posted in the area. As soon as the earth had reached five feet and four inches into the air, it condensed and solidified into an almost human shape, then crumbled away from its position to reveal a beautiful young woman in perfectly cleaned white robes with a golden trim, her long black hair blowing in the breeze that had wandered into the garden. Her pure white eyes swirled with thought as she took a step forward, her heavy boots crushing the grass beneath them. behind her the earth returned to its former state, removing all evidence of her passage. She approached the grand doors to the room of the Arch Priestess, and stopped before them. She looked at each of the guards, both of whom shifted uncomfortably under her cold gaze. She couldn't suppress her grin of satisfaction at the males' discomfort.
"Open the door." She said, staring at the guard to her right. He fumbled for a moment, obviously ill at ease in her presence, then he opened the door for her, and she strode into the room. She could took no heed of the holy texts and parchments surrounding her, unlike the other priests and priestess's, she did not need to study the gods through works written by men, she had her own connection. She stopped before the steps leading up to the great window that overlooked the vast fields, unimpressed also by the natural landscape. None of this compared to the visions the gods had given her, and that her superiors would be so vain as to lavish in it brought great disapproval from her. Lucia bowed, low, the most respectful act she would ever provide anyone, the formalities of man were not appealing to her, but if the gods deemed this woman worthy of the title of Arch Priestess, she would at least go so far as to show her some level of respect.
"My dearest Arch Priestess, I bring news and warnings that you should heed." She chose against suppressing the grin that was wide on her pale, angelic face.

Danaiss looked at Selyna. He knew how painful the words of the old man were sounding to the cat-woman. He sighed. He also knew he had no choice. He would not let her bleed, not after all he had lived. He was wondering if the sight and smell of blood could wake Him up. After all He had inhabited his spirit for almost one century now... we shall see....
Turning to Jasper, Danaiss said without a doubt "I am your man." his eyes were determinate despite the fear and his current pain.

But first he wanted to talk to Selyna, he tried to bend, but his side hurt him badly. He slowly and painfully put one knee on the floor. "Selyna?" he asked softly, not that he was trying not to be heard by the old man, but he wanted to comfort her. "May I tell you something... 'in private'?".

Azimeana was feeling relaxed and better. She stepped out of her bath and wrapped a towel around her. The room was warm despite the fact that the night was now there. She dried herself and tied a dry towel around her before heading to her room. She quickly brushed her short blond hair. She then decided to pray. Taking her praying carpet out of her luggage, she put it on the floor before sitting cross-legged on it. She rested her hands on her knees before closing her eyes. Praying in bath towel was very unorthodox but she had always been a strange person. After a couple of minutes she was deep in prayers and thoughts.

In Selyna’s state of shock by the recent event’s her mind wasn’t as sharp as normal, so she was confused by the old man’s words. She’d become excited as he said he would let them go, but then had became increasingly worried as he continued speaking; something sounded off to her about what he was saying though she couldn’t put her finger on what. That was of course, until he pulled out a sharp hook and asked who was to bleed first. Shocked, she closed her fist tighter around the neck of her shirt and only then regarded Danaiss, who had stooped down next to her, as if seeing him for the first time in her life. Tears filled eyes as she looked at him, her mouth opening and closing because she wanted to say something, but it seemed she either couldn’t find the right words or the breath to express them. Nodding in response to her companion’s question, Selyna seemed to no longer fear him, not because she didn’t, but because her fear of what the old man planned to do was greater. However in the back of her mind, she knew she'd be able to endure this much better than the forms of "torture" she'd heard and a few times, seen inflicted on her mother.

Danaiss understood to Selyna's eyes that she had understood. The fact that she made a movement to come close enough to him so that he could talk to her without the man hearing was his proof. He was torn. He wanted to protect her and the best way would be to knock her out. That way she would not see, not hear anything. But he also knew that she would never forgive him.

He talked with a low voice, his throat still hurting. "Selyna. Look at me." he gently moved her face with his hand, facing her straight, his eyes in hers.
"I would NEVER hurt you or ask you to do something that would hurt you. Do you hear me? So...Whatever they do to me. Whatever they say. Whatever I do. Whatever I say. Whatever I scream. Do NOT believe it! Do you hear me?" he paused trying to see if she was understanding. "If I ask you to do something, do NOT do it. Do NOT listen to them! Do NOT listen to me. You hear me?" He was wondering to which extent his words were making sense to her. He wanted to protect her, he knew that they would test him and he had no clue how he would be able to hold.

"Selyna. If you understand, say 'yes'" Danaiss's eyes were locked in Selyna's, he needed to be sure.

Danaiss wasn’t making any more sense now than the old man had earlier. Selyna was unsure if she was supposed to not listen to what he said later or now, and if now, how could she accurately do what he said or didn’t say? Nothing was making sense to her anymore, so, with a glance at the old man, she nodded vigorously and managed to squeak out a small ‘yes’. She’d unconsciously moved towards him and had used her hands to scoot forward so her collar hung open again and her skirt was raised a few inches, because she hadn’t been in the right frame of mind to think about pulling it back down after her movement. Selyna had no idea what exactly it was they planned to do with her and Danaiss, but she knew she’d never be able to do anything they asked of her so he had no worries there. However the part about him saying not to do anything he asked worried her. There couldn’t be anything he’d ask of her other than helping in finding a way out of here, so why she wouldn’t do what he asked was beyond her comprehension right now. Maybe he was going to fight this old man and he didn’t want her to get involved so she didn’t get hurt, maybe he thought she wasn’t old enough or mentally stable enough to help and in the event that he called out for her, she would know to stay put. Whatever the reason was, she just wanted to get out of here, find someplace isolated to hide, and never look at another human or man for as long as she lived. Eyes full of confusion, lingering on Danaiss, she finally got some of her mind back and dropped her eyes to his mouth, she couldn’t stand looking anyone in the eyes, but especially a man.

Danaiss looked at Selyna who now was staring at his lips. He smiled. He was sure that his words were making no sense but he hoped that later, they would. She was very close to him now and he could not help but catch a quick look at the skin of her legs that he could see as her dress was a little up. Even that does not affect me...hmmm... their powers are strong... but maybe not strong enough for Him... he thought.

Looking back to the cat-woman, he whispered "I am sorry Selyna..." Without letting her the time to realize what was happening, Danaiss's hand hit the back of Selyna's neck who immediately felt unconscious. He caught up as she felt and softly put her on the floor, in the most decent position possible. He sighed "Will you ever forgive me..."
He then slowly stood up and turned back to Jasper. "So? Old man... Shall we start...?"

The arch-Priestess sat in her chair, the smell of the musty books unnoticed as her mind lay heavy with thoughts. She tried to find a way out of Reno’s deal, and way to deter the b*****d from his actions that he seemed so intent upon initiating upon this helpless city. And no matter how hard this woman of tact and wit tried, no ideas came into her mind that she knew could possible have a chance. Unless Brakus and his men were successful in their endeavor, the city would burn because of a mad man’s blood lust. The arch priestess cursed the Inquisitorial order and cursed the linage Reno held.

“If only your father had disowned you.” The woman growled darkly, hating the web that the politics of the era had weaved around her. Before the woman could go on, the mighty doors opened and the elderly woman stared as the newcomer who so boldly strode into the room. The newcomer’s attitude was arrogant and stark but the arch priestess was old and had seen much in her days. The arch Priestess inclined her head.

“Blessings upon me for such an audience with you god touched. And what news do you bring me?” The wrinkled exterior of the arch Priestess’s face told nothing of the confusion and surprise of the woman’s arrival. Certainly, the Arch Priestess had seen god-touched before but only at ceremonies of immense importance. Most stayed locked up in the God Towers, prayer and telling prophesizes to all the world. Had the god’s sent her here? Was she blessed with the gods’ protection? The arch Priestess dared to hope as she silently awaited the news of this woman’s mouth.
--

Jasper snickered and gave a shrug.

“How noble of you to take this upon yourself but,” he flashed yellow teeth. “I am here to cause pain. How wonderful it would be to see all that in vain when I slit the girl open and place the burning power inside her veins. Imange how she’ll scream at you as she writhes in pain, asking you why you induced her to sleep when she could have fought. Yes, yes, yes! That is the perfect thing. Emotional pain and physical pain, the screams shall be splendid and the agony deep. Yes, yes, yes!” The small man was shacking in delight, his long fingers flexing. “Well done my damned one. Not even a cut has been made and I am already pleased with you. Finer specimens I will most likely never see. So now then,” the little man suddenly reach into his bag and pulled out a bag, which the flung Danaiss. The small thing flew through the air and struck the chained anathema across the face, the powder spilling out and filling the air and nostrils of the anathema. Jasper snickered as he covered his mouth with a cloth.

“A potent sleeping power that one be. Sleep through the cutting, you both will!”

Danaiss listened to the man, trying not to let his words hurt him. He knew the decision he made was the best under the circumstances, he knew that he did what he could with the abilities he had.

When the man suddenly moved and threw a bad at him, Danaiss did not have the time to react. The bad hit him in the face and he immediately felt the dizziness reach him. Making a pitiful attempt to stay up, one thought crossed his mind, scarier than any torture possible are they going to move us to another room where our 'abilities' are back...?? If it were the case, Selyna's biggest threat would be...him. He shook his head, falling on his knee. Then half unconscious he started smiling, then laughing...how ironic... he thought looking at Selyna asleep next to him... how pointless... his eyes closed, he rolled on the floor holding his side and then felt into a dreamless sleep.

The grin on Lucia's face persisted, "As you undoubtedly know, six new Anathema have entered into this holy city, brining even more impurity than those that already dwell have brought." She paused, as if considering something, "I know two of them to be in the tower, while I know also that the anathema I was tracking has left the inn at which she was providing 'entertainment' to encounter the other four." Her grin turned into a scowl, a feature very unusual on her face. "They must be removed from the vicinity of this church at once, I would not willingly choose to risk damage to a structure dedicated to the grandeur of the gods for the sake of eliminating a few more anathema." Her smile returned, "They have the capacity to escape this city, but they need some... aid." Her smile grew, "I demand that we let the two being held captive go, these anathema posses a strange loyalty to one another, and I cannot see them leaving without their companions."
She could barely contain the excitement within her, this new power flowing through her veins... The newest of gifts granted to her by her favorite, most beloved of the gods. He who she had allowed herself to be taken by, he who's children she was designed to bring to the earth. It was ecstasy, his mere presence, and she had been graced by it many times in such a short period. Through him all became clear. "We must get them out of this city, so that the army I am serving might crush them." Her grin was nearly ear to ear, revealing her perfectly aligned pearl-white teeth, which were beginning to appear rather sharp.
Lucia could feel the power pulsating in her veins, she had to but bleed and it would burst forth like a hurricane, covering the earth and destroying everything before it. "I wish for you to allow them escape into the West." She pondered the pleasure that would come from killing them, their blood spilling out, their bodies joining her new cause. "These abominations need to be annihilated. The worshipers in this city do not, but if you fail to follow through with your end on aiding their escape, I would have you at the least bring all followers into the confines of the church grounds for their own safety." She licked her lips, the anticipation was driving her insane, but she was a patient woman, patient when she knew that it would bring benefits she had never before experienced. "These are the options which I present to you, you may choose whichever you prefer."

For a long time, the arch Priestess could only stare at this young girl before her. The way the girl spoke, the glaze that covered her eyes, the aura that reached out from her. There was no doubt in the old woman’s eyes to indicate any doubt for what the girl claimed to be. And indeed the clenching of her stomach was not caused by fear of being lied to; it was fear of being told the truth. The old woman had been alive long enough to see the power hungry glow that so many young people held within. The young so often wished to lash out and to show the world what they could do. This girl was certainly no different, except for the power she wielded. The priestess disliked Reno and feared not him but the political body that supported his actions. She was powerless due to mortal reasons against the red haird b*****d and mortal limits could be exceeded when needed as the old woman had long since concluded might be necessary in Reno’s case. But this strange thing, with the glow of utter power burning bright behind her eyes filled the old woman with dread. She didn’t care if this was a god touched or not. God Touched had once burnt the Southern Islands till night was indistinguishable from day and it could happen again. The woman’s wrinkled face smiled calmly as she adjusted her hands in her lap.

“Well then,” the Arch Priestess started slowly. “If Reno and his dogs have already managed to capture two of these creatures, perhaps the fate of this city is not as disastrous as I had first expected. I never thought the Inquisitor would actually attempt to stop this threat. Perhaps the boy is maturing and finally using mere threats to provoke action. But then again, I may assume too much.” The old woman refolded her hands again, her every motion delicate and regal, her face never showing more emotion that was necessary or polite to display in society.

“Before I address you, God Touched, know I thank the divines for their intervention and your arrival. Now having said this, I ask you to please listen. This is my city, entrusted to me by the gods and all those who would reside within the hollowed walls that enclose it and I do not take kindly to any possible threat to it.” The old woman’s gaze hardened ever so slightly. “Unfortunately, the circles of politics that thread and surround the world we live in have more sway than the words of the gods. Call me blasphemous for such sayings but the gods have never directly intervened before and they still haven’t, God’ Touched. You are their messenger and theirs alone. Sadly I must listen to whosever’s message brings the least amount of harm to the city and people I love. I know the glint that is in your eyes and it is no divine spark, that is sure. You came into this room and in your divine inspiration revealed to me a way out of this dilemma I am in. Or so you thought. You have not given me a way out God Touched, only another problem for me to resolve. This is no simple matter. The world is not as black and white as our kind has always preached. The Inquisitors have two prisoners. They are doing their job and there is a possibility they might actually spare this city. I don’t know, but now you have come here and in your naivety, you want them to be released? What of the Inquisitors then? If they realize they can no longer hold prisoners, how long do you think this city will stand? I would not give it an hour till I would be choked in smoke. And of this army of which you speak of, is it of the kingdom or of the church, because neither fills me with hope. The Kingdom shall come and upon the Inquisitors’ word, the city will burn to make sure no anathema remain, no matter how far away they are caught and killed. And if it is of the church, the Inquisitor’s words will be all the more powerful and spurring.” The old woman smiled politely and folded her hands once more.

“I can see no way out of this dilemma. “

--

“And what of this Templar?” Demetrius muttered as Reno sat, drinking wine.

“What of the incompetent fool?”

“What should be done with her?”

“Done with her?” Reno’s amusement was heavy as he laughed. “To be cast from a high building to enjoy the decent and sudden ending of the fall. Of what other use could such a foolish creature be?” Reno paused. “I do admit she is an attractive creature whose demise would be a bit wasteful. Perhaps we should indulge our whims and then sell her to a slaver for additional profits. Is that what you had in mind?” There was a long silence and Reno finished his glass before going on. “No, it wasn’t was it. The young man looked to his counterpart and sighed.

“She saved my life.” The dark man uttered slowly.

“My knife was already in the air.”

“Would have killed too late.”

“What is all of this?” Reno muttered softly as he rose from the chair, the silks smooth and warm against his flesh. “We will use her as we see fit like any other tool and then we shall move on and never pick it up again. If there is something that is so deep in your brain that is causing you irritation with this matter, please divulge it now. Why the intense interest with this woman? “

“You know the laws of my people.”

“Demetrius,” Reno chewed his lip, looking for the right words. “How would you repay this debt? You already owe me both a life debt and your word of honor. Which I am certain out weigh this. So then, what would you have done to satisfy your hon-“ Reno stopped in midsentence and cringed as he knew exactly what Demetrius was getting at. “Please tell me you are kidding.”

“It is the only way for both debts to be paid off.”

“I would sooner drive nails under my finer nails.”

“If my debt cannot be paid-“ Demetrius said, pulling out his knife.

“Oh do cease the bloody theatrics.” Renos snapped, reaching for the bottle and then at his friend. In all the world, the red haired man named Reno had only one friend, one companion, one person who would actually stay with him and keep him from being a lone wolf. If it had been any other person, Reno would have encouraged them to spill their blood, but not Demetrius. Reno knew his companion to well, knew the dark man would do exactly as he threatened and Reno saw that his hand was being forced as he put the bottle of wine to his lips and began drinking heavily. “Fine.” Reno cursed his eyes narrows the empty bottle fell away. “I’ll do it.” Reno crossed the room and opened a massive chest and pulled a long cloak from it, the wolf pelt was majestic in the light, the fur dark and brown. Reno held it for a moment before placing it over his shoulders. In that moment, he looked every bit as royal as his fathers and his half siblings. Demetrius marveled at the transformation in the young man as Reno began walking past him and out the door of the room, a stream of curses following him as he went.

Lucia scowled at the woman's ignorance, but could not ignore how coupled it was with wisdom. "This city will burn, if the anathema I have pursued does not exit it. Her power lies in the wielding of flame, and her disgust with our holy cause will do naught to prevent her from unleashing her powers on the city in self-defense. I posses an alternative, if you will. If the inquisitors would be but so wise as to cooperate with the church, and allow the prisoners to be used as bait, there still may be hope for your town. I insist on the removal of the anathema from the presence of these holy grounds, if you fail to find a way in which this might be employed, I will have no choice but to find a way in which to handle them on the city's grounds. Do not think I am in complete ignorance of your situation. I understand that this city is under the threat of the kingdom's intervention, and my disgust with the placing of politics before the sanctity of the church is unbound." She paused, considering what all to reveal to the Arch Priestess.
"If these anathema are neither caught nor destroyed by the end of this week, this city will burn. If the anathema I have been watching is burdened with the need for open combat, this city will burn. Unless you discover a third route, I will intervene on the sixth day. Be warned, while I ensure you, due to the honor the God's have bestowed upon you, I will make attempts to limit the damage done to your city, damage will be done unless you discover an alternative." She made due with the limited information, not wanting to unveil her newest of gifts, not wanting to give detail as to just how she would deal with the anathema.
"Now, if you will but grant me a modest room, I must commune with the Gods. They shall be able to tell me the location of the filth that resides in your precious city's streets, and how best to handle them without damaging your dear establishment." She smiled, "Please ensure that it is a simple room, I will not have some mortal extravagance spent on me as though I were some creature indulging in decadence." Lucia's disgust with the idea of having something fit for a King was evident in her voice, despite the smile that persisted upon her lips.

The tones of the bell were less noticeable to Abel, he met Kaori's glance reassuringly. He had heard them during his fight with the human woman. Though it surprised him how long it had taken for them to get this far into the city. He was suddenly reminded of his past and he shivered but there was something, or someone rather, that required his attention.

Abel's head whipped around just before the woman exited her home. It had been a close call, his eyes narrowed. She didnt appear to be much of a threat, so he listened, giving her a surprising benefit of the doubt. His eyes narrowed, still unsure. Sure he had heard the woman's words, but the half demon was not one to be quick to trust.

He turned to look at Kaori, a silent battle going on behind his strangley tortured gray eyes. Another unenjoyed scene from his little known past felt as though it were playing before him. But the similarities didnt go as far as it had first appeared. Though he found it hard to trust, Abel knew he had to give in. They couldnt stay on the streets. The religion knew the city better than any of his group. He turned back to the woman, shoulders slackened in defeat though nothing had been said. He didnt even know the strangers name, but he didnt need to. He nodded. "I know." was all he could manage before following her back towards the door to her home.
