Yashima froze in his movement with Zah as soon as he felt those things wrap around him. He had felt movement like that before; it was like a dream to him now, like a shadow of his past. Except, the arms that had used to wrap around him were those of a lovers and his words were soft. THis was not that lover, the precious creature that he remembered making him feel like he was worth something.
It pissed the fox off and he started fighting against those arms, snarling under his breath. "Let me go," He hissed, ignoring the swell of energy he felt starting to be pulled from him. Hissing would do nothing, he realized, and Yashima drew in a sharp breath.
"You're NOT him!" The young boy screamed at the top of his lungs, a noise that would probably make Kays screams seem like whispers. "Let me GO! Stop STEALING MY ENERGY, stop HUGGING ME, you are NOT SAKURA, so BACK OFF, you b*****d!"
Quiet, right.

The screaming startled him but thankfully (or unluckily, if you were Yashi), the sound didn't necessarily hurt him. It wasn't as if the spirits around there screamed any less when something like him grabbed them.
However, they were screams of anger, not fear. It confused him enough for Yashi to be able to get away, if he tried hard enough and did it at just the right moment. Likely, since he was fighting rather hard.
The spirit had been expecting fear, for energy. But as soon as he realized he wasn't going to get it, he started feasting off as much anger as he could.
Coailiann began struggling further in the floor, "Leave ME alone! Someone help Yashi!"
She'd do it herself if she wasn't stuck in the god damn floor.

Kishi might have been a girl and Yashi might despise her for it but no way would she let the boy be taken by this near unfightable enemy. He was Zah's friend and hers too in a way. Releasing her currently immobile and safe ( after all Kay had their father with her) sister she ran towards the fox boy.
This thing was zapping hid strength but the fire had weakened it before right? She hurled herself in a fully body tackle at Yashi. If this didn't knock him from the shade's grasp nothing much would, she only hoped her wand didn;t get damaged in the fall.

Shira had grabbed the staff and was making her way towards Coailiann. It wasn't until she standing ready to pull the little girl out of the floor when she heard a string of ear-piercing screams that came from outside the training room, making her start. <******** mentioned Yashi's name and She was slapped out of her stupor, running towards the door and seeing the fox being tackled to the ground by another child, knocking into the air what Shira had thought dissapeared into the floor.
She nervously ran back inside and made sure to drop the staff away from the fire before grabbing another giant piece of wood. Then going into the hallway, she tried to look like she wasn't scared out of her damn mind while holding the wood at her side, ready to swing at the shadow.

Anethae had been all set to give out more directions, to tell the woman with the toddler on her lap what to do...she had everything planned out, since the shade was gone. Since the fugly annoyance was out of the picture, she thought her job would be easy; just keep everyone together in a lit room.
Unfortunately, she was wrong. The shade hadn't left. Damn her and her practically being mortal! If Sicily hadn't given her this soul so soon, she probably could have devoured the shade before any of this happened! Really, it was Sicily's fault she was so...useless, right now.
She heard Kay as well as she heard Yashima's screams...but upon a quick assessment of the situation, Thae deducted that at the moment, there wasn't anything to be horribly, on-the-spot or oh-my-god-do-something-NOW kind of worked up about. Besides, Kishi was doing a fine job of sending Yashima to the floor.
"Uhm...Guys? We need help." Anethae said, her voice strangely soft, yet completely able to top any of the screams in the room. "In Between help. We need a light spirit here to get that fugly away for good. I...I'm afraid I can't send a help signal, but maybe you guys can. Is it safe to assume you've all got some sort of magic?" She could feel it in the air, but she had to be sure. "You guys should be able to call out. I can only imitate but...I think you can do the real thing." Thae was speaking faster and harder now, as if she were getting an idea. Then, like she had before, she started calmly barking out orders.
"Close your eyes, think happy thoughts...and call out to whatever god you pray to for help. Hell, even pray to ghosts. They might answer you guys." There was a moment of silence from the red-head, then she spoke up again. "In the meantime, would someone mind scaring me? I'll lure it way while you call for help." She was pretty sure she could handle it...and while it was slightly out of character, Thae was going to put al of her faith into these little humanoids to save them, to get the attention from the goodies they needed.

Zasalamel started when he heard Yashima scream. He'd been about to reach out for his friend, but his hand stilled in midair as Kishi flew past him to tackle the fox. He was panicking. Yashima was being touched, that shadow thing was back, but he couldn't see it...all he could do was back up a few steps to grab a still lit piece of wood from their dwindling light source, and bring it back to his group of friends and Nataki.
Light, he thought, might push the shade away farther.
But then, Anethae spoke. He looked like he was going to object, but the redhead looked so set in her decision...there was nothing he could do about it now. Like Thae, he was putting his wildcard trust into a stranger that he recognized, but didn't recognize.
Kneeling down to his friends, after handing Nataki the piece of wood, he put his free arm over Kishi's back, indirectly holding the both of them, and the little Vana, close.
