" I ... I can tell , " said Core , still looking upon the water . Her room`s view was nothing compared to the one atop the Statue of Liberty`s torch . A small tear found it`s way down her cheek . There were a few people she wished she could share this with , but could not . Quickly whipping away , she reminded herself of who she was with . Travis , and he wouldn`t disappoint her .
Betray her .
Enrage her .
A small doubted in her mind wondered if that was Kara had really done . What were her other options ?

"I take you to a place where you can clear your mind from the recent events yet you still continue to think..." Travis stood up and began to balance on the railing, the wind swirling around...

" Sorry ... " murmured Core . As she continued staring at the moon , she thought more of Benjamin . It was from him that she gained this love of the moon . Going back in time she relived one of the many fond memories .
Lying on grass atop the highest hill on the Island , and island containing their birthplace , London , England , the stared at the stars . He would point out the constellations . There was so much to learn , and she was still so young . Hardly 50 years . " Scorpio is the time , " he would say , " The Addict . " " Addict ? " she would ask . She felt bad for those who were classified as addicts , how depressing . The stars he was pointing at were shaped as a scorpion , but she wasn`t looking at them , she was watching the moon . Stopping his sentence of explaining how constellations came to be , he mentally realized where she was looking . " It`s bright because the dust reflects the Sun`s rays . " " That`s ridiculous , the Sun is not out , " she would respond . He taught her so much , and was so caring . Truly the most amazing father figure imaginable .

"He loved you dearly...he is always there for you, in your heart." Travis looked down at Core from atop the railing. "He was certainly a wise man, he did well raising you as well, I know he is proud of you." Travis looked up at the moon with Core...
"It is truly a beautiful thing, the night. Its taken for granted, as a human, for a vampire it means everything. Being vampires means we are immortal, we live for eternity, immune of all sickness and plight....but we dont walk around like we are immortal, we act as if we are still human, worried about our lives." Travis chuckled. "Of course we can die, everything can die, but why worry about something that is so hard to accomplish such as death? it is so hard for us to die as vampires. We live so careful, sometimes its ok to be reckless, to remind yourself of this blessed curse called eternal life." Travis turned to Core and smirked. "Vampires are a curse, a plague, an evil on this world. Its a morbid way of looking at it but if we do act reckless and die, all we are doing is a favor to the world and a favor to ourselves. When you live as long as you do being a vampire, you miss the fact of death. Dying is more of a blessing than others would think, and erasing one vampire from the city makes it a little safer for the humans." Travis chuckled..."You must think i have lost it, i havent i assure you, its just thoughts in my head. Unlike most that had been turned, i embrace and love what i am and have become...what a blessed and morbid curse it is, truly beautiful." Travis stopped his rant as he stood atop the railing looking to the sky outstretching his arms as if he could pluck the stars from the very night sky...

" I believe ..... " she started , " that we need to make the best of what we were given . Sometimes it is inevitable to be what we are . I would have evidently died had it not been for Benjamin . Although , some do embrace it too much . An irony compared to those who commit suicide almost immediately . And then to those who decided that all of must be killed , and become hunters of their own kind . Then there`s the profound realization that we live much longer than those humans around us , yet we are hidden for the most part . We can create children left and right , yet it is the human race that out numbers us and clogs our planet . "
" Ah , well . Lets not go too deep into that and just enjoy what we are given . " Core finally ended , continuously gazing at the moon .

" I .... " stared Core . " I`m actually not sure . " She thought about it a bit longer , never dropping her gaze from the bright , round rock placed promptly in the sky . " I guess I`m as good as I`ll get . Ready too leave ? " she asked . Truly , she didn`t want to go . No one really could , with this view so amazing . Parting was such sweet sorrow , but the leaving was what made the coming back so special .

Core finally dropped her gaze from the lovely lunar view and cocked an eyebrow at Travis . " And this fast way , is .... ? " she asked cautiously . Obvious the slow way was the stairs . Leaning over the railing , she noted the height of the drop . She was not scared , but not an idiot . Her skin would hurt , at least .

Travis smirked...
"I thought you wouldnt ask..." Travis let out a chuckle at the irony of him being a psychic vampire and knowing she would ask. He tilted his head back and stretched his arms out to the side...
"Embrace the eternal life we are granted, be free..." Travis leaned back and began to fall... "meet you at the bottom beautiful..." He smirked and pushed off the railing so that he would make it out to the water...

Core did a large fanged smile , and inwardly blushed at the compliment . Her clothes were already stained with blood , some salt water didn`t matter to her . Climbing hastily onto the railing , she gripped it for a moment with her bare feet , staring at the moon for one last moment . In perfect gymnastics pose , she bent her legs , arms swung behind her . And then she jumped .
Tumbling through the air in a forward tuck , wind whipping her face . After a few moments , she extending into a typical swimmer`s front dive , brown hair brushing away from her face . Then , she hit the water .
It was cooling and refreshing . Opening her eyes , she saw Travis only a few meters away , and she smiled . They could stay like this for hours , in the lovely moonlit water , never needing to breath .

Travis, surprised by Core jumping off the statue, surfaced from the plummet laughing as he popped his dislocated left arm into place and cringed at the pain. His body was sore and his skin burned, but all in the matter of a half hour everything would be perfect. He swam around Core who was just admiring the beautiful serene night...

Core rose up to the surface , turning her hands to replace the misplaced bones . Continuously smiling at Travis , she was grateful she jumped . Enjoyable , and alive . She must be careful , though . Too much adrenaline could lead to insanity , and she knew it . Treading water easily , she looked up at the moon again .
" Maybe we should swim to shore ? " she asked , " if anyone saw us jump , and then find us swimming in the water , it was cause more than a little suspicion . " She dunked her head under and swam towards where the Brooklyn Bridge once connected with the City . Invisible to any curious onlookers .

Travis nodded his head and began to swim to shore. When they arrived he pulled himself up onto the shore and laid on his back, gazing up at the night sky...

Core laid down next to him , laughing quietly , her left arm over her eyes . Her right next to Travis . After a few minutes , she slowly sat up , and did a large stretch , bending her knees . Standing up , she let out a gleeful breath , then looked down at Travis gratefully . " Thanks , you`re amazingly helpful . " Catching her off guard was her hunger . She`d have to feed soon , and starting walking away from the water , and in turn , the moon . " Coming ? " she called , looking behind her once .
