Laughing, Draeken hugged Phia against him. "Nah. That's just a cat, though stranger things have happened around her. You should probably get some rest, though, before you start thinking I'm a spider." He smiled a bit and kissed the top of her head.

It was a week since he'd arrived at the mansion and Derrek had become somewhat accustomed to the layout. Well, the layout for about the three rooms he needs to know about: His room, the training room he'd unsealed Aria and Aethi in, and the library. On his second day in the mansion, he had discovered the library. Much of his time since then had been spent there. The sheer number of magical texts to refer to simply boggled his mind. There was no way that he'd be able to get to all of these if he lived two hundred years. Once he had picked up several texts from the library, he was seldom seen without them. At the moment, three of the bandages held a book in front of him entitled Planar Bridging and Locking. This was one of many books that he was working with on unlocking the secrets of the orbs. Dipping his feather pen into its ink well again, he jotted down several more notes on the parchment in front of him. At the moment, he was working on a thesis regarding application of planar magics, which was mostly thought of as a purely academic study.

"Yep, that's me. I'm Derrek." Derrek placed his quill in its well and rose to shake Phia's hand. He'd seen her around briefly before, but had never really spoken to her. The books and papers he'd been taking notes on and with lay scattered on the nearby chairs. The cloth bandages which had been holding up the book moved to clear off another seat (one of them while being used as a bookmark) for Phia.

"Mmmhmm. This place has plenty of books on what I'm researching. It's proving to be more useful than I ever could have hoped. And, from what I remember, there was still stuff scattered around the window tables. Otherwise, I'd have taken them myself" Derrek said, chuckling slightly. He had indeed thought of clearing off those tables to use them, but had thought better of it. It's probably a good thing he didn't. "What've you been researching?"

"We're around." Said a dissembodied voice from no where in particular, in response to Phia's question about the families whereabouts. "At least I am. Not sure about the girls. Likely they are still sleeping, or doing who knows what together." A soft chuckle sounded just behind Phia as Draeken appeared from the shadows of a bookcase, wrapping his arms around her waist. "How're you today my love?"

Phia leaned back into Draeken and smiled, "Good Thank ye, An' yerself?" She nodded to his reply and listened to Derrek and laughed. " The only thing about this Library tha' makes it 'is is the books his ancestor collect'd and it's in 'is 'ome... I spend more time in 'ere then 'e does" She smiled and turned, pulling D's face gently to hers and kissing him.

Acknowledging D's look with a slight smirk, Derrek said to Phia, "Heh. Those very books are the ones that I'm looking at, actually. There's some very interesting texts here that I'm really enjoying. I found some of his that I think will give me some more information about these two orbs. Quite fascinating stuff really." Derrek then turned to D. Speaking of which, I've rested up enough from the last spell to start work on your unbinding. Whenever you're ready, I can go start getting the ritual ready."
