He began walking along the length of the underpass. Man this thing was long and seriously, how long could it possibly rain fo-- he nearly busted his head wide open after tripping over yet another fragment.
"Am I going to be ok?" It was a sentence that was thought out more than spoken. But why would he?... Nevermind. He polished the fragment with care before adding it to the others. Just one more as offering.

He didn't have to go too far to find it, upon reaching the other end of the overpass, he found his fifth and final shard. The words that came to mind the strangest of all -
"violins are so nerdy" It made absolutely no sense, what the hell was a violin for one, what the ******** was a nerd either? What really made the sentence exceptionally weird however; were the feelings that had been drawn forth as a result. His face flushed bright pink and he felt sick to his stomach. Better get these things back where they belonged before his mind was overwhelmed. He braved the rain a second time to duck back out the way he came.

It was now time for Onana to make her way to the last side of the building. She ran through the rain again and bore the pain of raindrops pummeling her body. After she made it to the other side of the building and under the safety of the awning, she searched to and fro for another orb.
Her eyes settled on a faintly glowing orb to her right. "Ah, there you are!" She tackled it.
She saw a feast. Many others sat at the table with her, but she couldn't make out their faces. The food looked far more vivid. There was fresh fruit and vegetables of every kind and color. She didn't know their names or even what she'd do with them, she couldn't help, but drool. "How--How delightful!"
Tiek turned his attention to, whom he assumed was, Ryjer. The other had changed, but the impression was the same. A familiar sense of happiness spread in him as he stood and stretched. "Hey! Good to see you again. I don't really know yet... Any ideas?" There were two new areas to be explored, plus murmurings about some sort of.. battles... Hm.

Her head tilted at the pause, but she waited for him to finally give up the name, the corner of her lips twitching upwards on the delivery. "Amity. I'm Coyote." There was more, but she preferred the the beginning to the end, so that was what she had decided to go by.
"Your necklace, can I have a closer look?" She had actually taken a step closer, one small hand raised and pointing at the glowing blue that rested around his neck. They looked similar, but she wanted to be sure. If they were, maybe that meant they had some sort of connection, despite the colors of their cores.
Just to be fair, she held her own up by the cord so he could have a closer look if he wanted one as well.

He hesitated with his hand clenched around the thing. He wasn't sure why but he felt strongly that it was his, and also that anything that was yours ought to be kept close to the chest--literally and figuratively, in this case.
But she offered up her own, and so after a beat he reluctantly, with a possessive final squeeze of his hand, let go. He stooped to take hers up in his shaky fingers and look at it. Standing this close to someone felt wrong somehow, even with so little shelter to huddle into.
"Don't know what good this is supposed to do," he said roughly.

Having exhausted the supply of orbs here, Onana knew she'd have to head elsewhere for more. She really wanted to avoid the rain, so she tried her darnedest to find another abandoned building, a bridge, an aqueduct, or something to run off to. Her sight was poor, so it was easier said than done.
Then, she saw someone run from an overpass. "Ooh, I could go there! I think that's a good idea?" With her mind made up, she ran over towards the overpass. Every now and then, she'd run into a puddle and rainwater would splash onto her legs, burning them. "Argh!"
When she made it to the overpass, she was glad to see that there were many orbs here. Now, all she had to do was catch one.

Aeon grinned as she picked up her fourth fragment, feeling rather proud of herself that this wasn't taking nearly as long as she had initially thought.
'Come on now, just one last run, it'll be fine.'
Hmm, for some reason that memory wanted to linger a little, a feeling of sadness accompanying it. Though it passed soon enough, it was something more than the others had made her feel which was enough to make her wonder if there might be more to these than they thought.

Onana tiptoed towards an orb that was right in front of her. She didn't want to splash into any more puddles, so she figured if she stepped lightly, then there'd be no way that could happen. Instead, she tripped on some scrap metal and face planted. "Argh! It burns."
Coincidentally, she also happened to fall right on top of an orb. She sat up, shook herself dry, and grabbed in off of the ground.
She could hear singing. She didn't recognize the lyrics or the tune, but she thought it sounded lovely. Then, she realized it was her voice. "Eh?" She cocked her head. "I can sing?"
After that, she stood up and looked at all the orbs, the fragments of memories, she had gathered. They had made her as confused as ever. She couldn't figure out what failure, flying, food, hot springs, and singing had to do with eachother and especially with herself. But she also thought they must've been important somehow.
Gingerly she took up his pendant between thumb and forefinger and gave it a thorough once over. It looked identical to the one dangling around her own, and that just seemed too big to be a coincidence. "They're the same." Finished, she let the necklace go and stepped back again.
"It might not mean anything, but then again it might. I haven't seen any other pendants, or anything else really." They'd only just appeared, after all. "But they're clearly not related to the heart colors, so... " She shrugged kind of uselessly, lips twisting.
If they were connected somehow, it just made sense to try to stick together and maybe find more figures with blue pendants.

"No s**t they're the same," he said, letting hers drop as well. He wrapped his hand around the pendant greedily as soon as she let go, possessively, like he was afraid she might try to snatch it.
He watched her warily, and then suddenly started walking. Or rather scuttling, out of their current awning and under a half-shattered bus stop roof, vaguely aware of wanting to explore the wrecked plaza. He raised his voice to keep talking, though. Clearly he expected her to follow, naturally. "Maybe we're supposed to be looking. Or maybe it's just the two of us and I'm stuck with you now, or something." He made it sound like that was a chore. "Don't go away," he added, commandingly, perhaps realizing that she might be frustrated into it by his tone. He wasn't sure why he didn't want her to. Maybe he'd never find anyone else who had a pendant. Maybe he'd never know why unless he kept her around.

Maybe the were trying to teach her patience, or not to get too sure of herself. Aeon needed just one more shard before being able to return to the goddess, but it seemed this one would be more difficult than the others.

This had to be some kind of test, or lesson Aeon decided, trying not to be too frustrated but she felt as if she was failing with in her task. This was just the first one. If she couldn't complete this, she wasn't confident that the others would go well either.
