I don't think I found it anywhere in the details - for the Deep Space Assault weapon, how does this impact the Transcended senshi specifically given they're normally protected by their planets? Do they have greater resistance/do they feel it more intimately/do they become more vulnerable or is it similar to a death sentence to them.

Do they still have the urge to corrupt and given their status as transcended, does anything differ for them since they should (technically) be immune to corruption due to the protection of the planets i.e. they can now be corrupted?

No immediate plans for it but thought it best to ask! (Sorry for the long question) <3

This can be personalized based on player interest and other IC factors! Transcended characters receive extra protection from their Wonder or Homeworld to protect them against being corrupted while apart from their Earth; a player could choose that the corruption either affects them more severely due to their close bond with their world or might feel that their close bond could make them more aware that there is an issue on their world before it spreads. There is no wrong way to play this, it just depends on what plot the player wants to pursue; neither outcome implies a 'weaker' connection with the world and its protector.

Would it be possible to establish a meaning for my Vanguard character's Velencian name?

Yes! Please just PM 'The Space Cauldron' with what you have in mind and we can try to work with you!

Are Velencians allowed to use any Enhancements, and if yes, which ones?

Because we are still exploring their impact on gameplay and how they will be played, they are not presently eligible for enhancements, but we anticipate that in the somewhat-near future this will change! We are hoping to have this information available in about a month, so it should be out in time for our Winter Holiday Event!

How do 'civilian' names work for Deep Space Senshi? Can they have a 'civilian' name from their homeworld as well as a name for their human guise? Could they use their homeworld civ name as their human civ name?

Relatedly, can a DSS be played powered down without their civilian guise active?

Deep Space Senshi should use their homeworld civ name as their actual civilian name; there may be circumstances where they choose to go under an alias but this might be handled more as a stage name or nickname.

DSS can be powered down without their civilian guise active but we ask that players OOCly make sure that if they choose to do this they aren't doing anything that would be gamebreaking. For example, DSS could power down to their natural civilian form while alone, while around aligned powered characters or while around civilians they trust, but shouldn't do so somewhere where they would easily be identified as an alien. In areas where it might not be uncommon to imagine someone in extreme makeup or costumes (such as a convention) it might also be possible to power down in public without a civilian glamour. We ask that players please just give us a heads up if they intend to do something like this so we can make sure there are no unprecedented plot holes or complications!

If English is the universal spoken language throughout the cosmos in this setting, is there any reason to not establish a universal sign language (using ASL or an in-setting Cosmic Sign) as well? It would open more options for character concepts if the rules didn't treat speech as the default mode of communication.

Any English based language falls under this umbrella; it includes verbal and non-verbal communication. Non-speaking characters can use any AAC device they are comfortable with, but should be able to understand the general language of Destiny City. For clarification and transparency, the following sentence has been modified and expanded on in the Deep Space Senshi writeup:

They can speak English because they should have been taught it as the common language of the universe when they were younger and it was relevant, however this may manifest differently based on their preferred communication method. They may speak English, may read old English (as it existed roughly a thousand years ago), may use a personalized AAC, or may communicate using sign language; though sign language was not technically invented on Earth prior to the fall of the Silver Millennium it can be said that the language existed in the universe prior to the fall but was simply lost and was uncovered again and released as a 'new' language within the past few hundred years.

If there are other areas where this information needs to be clarified, please let us know so we can update those threads as well!

Is there a standardized set of names for use in the Negaverse when referring to Corrupted Senshi and sideswaps? In-universe, are the popular names that i.e. Queen Laurelite or General-King Axinite would use to refer to these things:
  • Corrupted Senshi
  • Purification
  • Corruption
literally just those names, or are there alternatives that less clearly paint the Negaverse as an 'evil' alternative?
Basically, if General-King Axinite was discussing Character B - and Character B started out as a normal Senshi, was Corrupted into a Corrupted Senshi, and then Purified - would he talk about Character B using those terms, or would he use different words with the same meaning?

There’s not exactly a standardized set of names for use in the Negaverse because it depends on how a character wants to perceive these words. These words are the ‘order biased terms’, and we use them OOCly but the Negaverse might not feel like those titles represent them and/or use them facetiously/to mock Order’s choice of labels.

ICly, a Negaverse Agent (such as Axinite or Laurelite) might call a Corrupted Senshi a ‘Negaverse Senshi’. Purification might not have a specific 1:1 alternative but might instead be called ‘betraying the Negaverse’, 'defecting', or ‘abandoning the Negaverse for the White Moon’. Corruption might instead be ‘recruited’, ‘saved’, or ‘brought into the Negaverse’.

Many Negaverse Agents avoid using the Order bias terms because it is essentially ‘White Moon Propaganda' but there’s a lot of wiggle room for what alternatives they would like to replace those terms with, especially with Purification and Corruption!

In regards to the guidelines on magic duration/use in the profiles now - are they just guidelines - or is that something the shop wants to see with all attacks?

For example - eternal attack - just one use and up to 45sec duration. Is there options open for leeway is what I guess I'm asking.

If I say wanted to half the duration to just 25 seconds - could I have a 2nd use of eternal stage magic instead? (but the trade off would be that my character wouldn't be able to attack the same player - another target would have to be selected for the magic to work again)

Or should I just go with the suggestion of 1 use and max duration time?

This is completely dependent on the type of magic and it's difficult to make a broad statement answer without knowing what the magic is going to be. We recommend reaching out to a mod or GM for advice and suggestions on this to get more accurate feedback on the magic you want to do, but it is possible to have magic stamped outside of the listed parameters. The 1 use/45 seconds is just the most common type of Eternal magic and is a general estimate for where to start when planning magic!

Would a Velencian who needs meat be able to fulfill that need with eggs or dairy products?

No, sorry! Velencians have less options on Velencya so they might be able to supplement some vitamins and minerals on Earth to reduce their need for consumption, but red meat would always need to be at least a small part of their diet.

Would a mauvian be able to upgrade more than one senshi that was ready for more power in the same rp?

Eg. if the mauvian was with Senshi A and Senshi X and sensed that they were both ready for an upgrade then could that mauvian do both upgrades - or would the mauvian only be able to do one of them and have ask another mauvian to do the the other senshi's upgrade or wait until another day if they wanted to do it themselves.

Would the experience of a mauvian have any bearing on this eg. if the mauvian has done past awakenings and upgrades - would they be more likely succeed than a mauvian who has just awakened/ not been around much

What would be the effect on the mauvian eg would they be really tired and not be able to do much for the rest of the day or tired but able to recover after a few hours rest

I'm assuming in any case that if a mauvian can upgrade more than one senshi in a rp that it would never be more than two senshi

A Mauvian would be able to upgrade multiple Senshi at once! They would not need to suffer any negative repercussions for doing multiple upgrades in the same roleplay unless the player wanted their Mauvian to feel fatigued or lose access to extra abilities while they recovered, but this would be totally optional. If a player wanted them to have repercussions to doing so many upgrades at once, the Mauvian might recover by resting, eating, or relaxing on their bonded Senshi’s Homeworld afterwards!

We would recommend not doing more than two if only because this might be time consuming and so many energy signatures together might draw attention, but it would be possible under the right circumstances.

If, for plot purposes, I want to establish a backstory for a new character who isn't a DSS or Velencian, can that be placed in their quest thread or should it be PMed to the mule?

We recommend PMing the mule so our RP Mods can look over it instead of just the stamper! Please just link to the quest and include any information about the backstory and why it is important to your character! That way, if the shop needs any changes to conform to canon, we will have an idea of what parts of the backstory are vital to your character and bringing them into play!

Are senshi and knights who are not currently in Destiny City able to travel to their respective home worlds or wonders?

If yes then do they need to be more cautious.

I am assuming technically yes, but I think I remember that the Negaverse is in control outside of Destiny City and so was wondering if it would be something oocly discouraged.

On that note, if a senshi (taking whatever needed precautions) was able to travel whilst outside of Destiny City, then could they technically go to the moon? And if they were in contact with a senshi still in Destiny City (eg. the senshi is friends with a senshi in Destiny City as civilians or is part of a senshi court who know each other as civilians) then could they technically arrange to meet on the Moon?

No one should be powering up outside of Destiny City; this would need plot permission, but due to the Negaverse control in the rest of the world this would be incredibly dangerous and ill-advised.

OOCly it is hugely discouraged to avoid introducing different regions or specific information for them; if you have a plot in mind where your character might have been out of Destiny City (such as in another state or city, not necessarily in locations described in the shop in some way, such as the reservoir or forest/mountains nearby) please send it in and we can try to work with you! However, regularly powering up outside of Destiny City is incredibly dangerous and would likely have resulted in a character being kidnapped, corrupted, or killed.

I can't remember if any of these has been asked (and apologise in advance if they have), but out of curiosity are senshi able to go on to their homeworld from the Moon?

If they are meeting another senshi on the Moon then would they be able to take another senshi with them?

Would it make a difference if 1 senshi was in Destiny City and another was not in Destiny City for whatever reason?

Senshi can travel to their homeworld from the Moon! Their cell phones can teleport them from any non-pocket dimension (so no traveling from places like Negaspace or Mirrorspace) but when they are ready to return, they will be taken back to the place they traveled from.

So, if a Senshi travels to their homeworld from the Moon, they will return to the Moon instead of Destiny City. If they met up with another Senshi on the Moon, they could travel with as many guests as their rank allows, just as if they were taking a guest from Earth!

Order characters should not be powering up outside of Destiny City without plot approval due to the overwhelming forces of Chaos and the danger powering up would have for them elsewhere, but if someone had powered up and traveled to the Moon from outside of Destiny City, they could still travel with a guest to their homeworld, or as a guest to someone else's homeworld; they would just return to the Moon when they were finished visiting the homeworld!

I was going over the information for life returning to planets/wonders in order to plan out some future things when a question came to mind.

What if anything happens to Wonder's of Knights that are on a planet of a senshi that hits the sustainable life/livable world stage?

Ganymede should be there already so would that effect anything for her Knight's if it was claimed by Sunny? (She could have already idk, I didn't want to assume)

What another player has unlocked should not impact anyone else! It is a personal accomplishment and Knight Wonders are in isolated bubbles that separate them from other Wonders or the Senshi world where they are located. The Wonder itself must be cultivated and tended to in order support life or sustainability and should have no noticeable advantages based on what the Senshi Royal had unlocked.

sorry if i missed this info somewhere!

How, ICly, do insects and other animals appear on a homeworld or wonder once a character has unlocked that? The world didn't have any life on it; does the reviving world magically recreate these creatures and they just appear?

ICly there is no way to tell exactly how this happens; characters will arrive and will notice the life forms there as if they had always been. Because they only seem to appear between visits, there is no way to tell what actually sparks their return.

Characters can assume whatever they like about this, but ICly the reasoning has never been given. It is possible to observe that homeworld restoration only appears when there is no one there to see how it happens, and any attempt to record or monitor it would yield no results/technology might malfunction during the process.

Buildings restore without explanation, plants flourish, and life appears as if it had always been there, but ICly there isn't yet any way to tell why or how this is happening!

OOCly it happens immediately so players can bring in new life without having to wait for evolution! There is an IC reasoning that might be explored in future events but has not yet been touched on.

If a Knight character has the Forgotten Spell enhancement, at what stage does it manifest? As soon as they have their weapon as a Squire, or only when they become Knights?

Can it vary in strength between Squire and Knight stages, or is it constant?

Also, what happens if they find the scroll containing the Forgotten Spell as a Page?

Sorry if this is elsewhere and I missed it!

Forgotten Spells can manifest at second stage; a Page typically shouldn't find the enhancement before then but if they do it would absorb into their weapon but have no additional abilities until they reach second stage and had access to their magic pool. The Enhancement should have the same power at Squire and Knight stage, but if a player feels like they need to revise an approved Forgotten Spell at any point in time they can PM the mule!
