He had stayed a while after to chat with his teacher about a few things he'd found either fascinating or confusing about the lesson, and yet he was surprised by how empty the halls were. Oh well, he thought to himself blithely, though his expression remained as stony as ever. I have no more classes today. Wonder how much time I can waste before I'll be expected home. It is a school night, after all... He sighed a little in annoyance at the thought; he loved his family, sure, but his little siblings could be a pain, what with twins and a six-year-old, and his parents were... well. Parents. In a word, smothering. And they wondered why he spent so much time out of the house, whether it be "studying," "taking a walk," or "sleeping over with a friend." Usually those meant one of two things: either he really was studying late in the school's library, or he was out getting stupid, dancing and partying with his friends while he could. Not that they had to know that. ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

With a few hours taking a break from the family reunion, Zoey heads to the school trying to get some fresh air, that last meeting at the street scared her off a bit, but now back in school she felt safer. Sitting by a nearby bench after stopping by the vending machine, she enjoyed a can of grape juice while hearing some steps approaching. Looking at her clock she realized the time and she wondered if there was a teacher or Deathscythe running around, but was surprised to find instead Lucas who seemed to be lock in his thoughts. "Huh?"Puzzled to see another student at this hour, she pondered wether or not to point that out, after all, she was a student herself as well. None the less, he didn't seem to notice one of the tiles was broken, sure it was a small crack but it could be enough for someone to trip if not walking cautiously. Waving her hand at him, she tried to see if she met the boy before, but since neither the face or the soul wavelength ring a bell she decided to go for the conventional... "Hey there! Uh, there's a fissure right in front of you, be sure not to trip?"Honestly, it wasn't the best opening for a conversation, or a warning. But what else could she do? Everything was so sudden she barely had time to think her words before they left her lips on Lucas's direction, hopefully he'll notice in time. Or perhaps he was aware and didn't need her telling him about it, but as the saying goes, better safe than sorry.

Truly, he was so deep in trying to come up with some excuse to stay out, he almost didn't notice being called to. While his eyes had been glued to the ground, he'd had no idea whatsoever of the crack in front of him. He stopped inches short of it, looking from it to the girl, and back again. "This thing?" he asked in what was meant to be an amused tone, but conflicted with the ever-low hanging of his brows. "I think I'll be alright, yeah?" He managed a smirk, but his eyes still seemed deadly serious as they looked her up and down. While he couldn't see auras, never having picked up on the skill most Meisters came to easily, he could definitely sense something different about her.
He made his way over to the girl, stepping a little too dramatically over the crack in the floor and looming over her. Truly, he looked like a force to be trifled with, especially with how tall he was in comparison. His naturally stern expression definitely didn't help. He leaned down, almost crouching to get at eye level with her, lips tightening into what should've been a friendly smile. "M'Lucas. Pleased to meet you," he introduced himself before resting one hand on her shoulder and kissing either cheek in greeting, as he would've anyone else. He didn't know why he did it, but to him a handshake or anything like that had always seemed so... egh. Way too stiff, too adult. He was still a kid, wasn't he?
And besides, who could say no to a little friendly affection? ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

"Yes."The moment Lucas listened and avoided the fissure, Zoey felt great relief. Closing her eyes as she faced the wall, she sighed, glad that he didn't suffered an accident at school. While the fall wouldn't be that Dangerous, Zoey carried a mother like figure to her personality, therefore she worried about people with ease, even with insignificant issues like a small paper cut or bruise. Hearing his steps closer, she giggled, at the very least she was able to be useful to someone. Another reason she would keep her eyes closed was to avoid her shyness to get in the way, the pink haired girl had trouble talking with other people than her family. But if here eyes were closed she felt free to act and speak as she pleased. With Lucas stern looks and intimidating height differences, it would be normal for Zoey to be uneasy around him, which was why she opted to avoid eye contact for the moment. That way, she could greet this stranger without worry. "Sometimes students get carried away and fight inside the halls, that's why we end up with fissures here and there."Sensing his soul, she was able to know his position, therefore, even with eyes closed, she could turn on his direction every time she addressed him. The boy identified himself as Lucas, as he did, Zoey smiled, her face turning towards his as he greeted her. "Zoey-"Her voice was interrupted, she would. It was as if everything around them froze in place. Then, she felt it. Warmth, softness, the pressure his lips held against her skin. It was enough to silence the girl in place after a brief gasp from her part. Lucas sure didn't intend to offend her or hit on her. She sensed no ill will from him, but this kind of greeting... As she was froze in place, she analyzed the situation, should her eyes had been open, she would fluster beyond belief and squeal because of the sudden proximity of a male. But within this shelter of hers, the damage was minimized into a fading fluster upon her cheeks. Should she had stayed in place, the kiss would land perfectly on her cheek, which wasn't that strange at all. The problem was, she turned towards him, leaving his lips against her skin, dancing dangerously close over the edge of her lips. Her heart started racing. But the facts could not be denied. So, her racing heartbeat faded as soon as it showed up. A soft smile formed on her lips, showing no harm was done. "Sorry, I wasn't expecting that..."She giggled nervously, hoping she didn't upset the boy with her reaction. There was a brief silence from Zoey, while the echo of Lucas's steps faded at the ends of the halls. She felt silly, it was just a kiss... if only... "Pleased to meet you Lucas, what brings you here at this hour?"She asked out of curiosity, her recovery was greater as time passed, heaven forbid she opened her eyes just now, or she'll be red as a tomato and just as talkative as one.

He'd seen it in movies all the time, the way Italians didn't seem to have the same, constricting social boundaries as everyone else. Even when he was little he could see the difference, and he liked it. While his parents warned him against coming on too strong, as he had a tendency to do, and while he often received reactions much like this girl's (stunned and flustered) it wouldn't break the habit. Not any time soon, anyway. "Nice name," he remarked in a languid voice, despite his stony features.
He hadn't even been dissuaded when his lips had accidentally made contact with a little of her mouth. It had been an accident after all, nothing to be embarrassed about. Although, upon recognizing the little flush in her face, he realized that perhaps it was for her. That only got a deep, short rumble of a chuckle out of his chest. "I could tell," he replied, offering a meek explanation as to her surprise. He was about to make his way out of the school when her little voice beckoned him again, and he paused. As good a reason as any to be late, he told himself, relieved to have found his excuse to stay out. "I was just discussing a few things with my last teacher. And you?"
He quirked a brow up, wondering why it was her eyes were still closed as they had been. He gave himself something of a mental shrug, then gestured simply with one hand down the hall. "Shall we? No point hanging around here any longer." ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Upon a rather interesting meeting, both sides had finally introduced to one another. And thankfully, Zoey was able to keep her eyes shut this entire time. Lucas stated he was discussing with his teacher, was he taking supplementary classes? Or was he perhaps an advanced student which helped out with teachers? Truly, Atticus's memories came in handy to offer Zoey a variety of possibilities to play around this subject, keeping her entertained in her mind. Having not the slight idea that Lucas meant those words and that there were no further mystery for his reason to be here at this hour. On the other hand, the question had bounced back to her, to which she giggled nervously, most likely a comedic reaction having karma gave a taste of her own chocolate. The grip upon her juice became firm, but not enough to bend the can, just enough to hold it still. "Well, you see..."Zoey was wondering if it would be okay to share a long story, probably not, they had just met, it would be rude to sink him under a pile of backstory. Keeping things brief, she replied : "I've had a rough start, the last meeting I had was quite astonishing. Too much adrenaline for a single day."And it truly had, Zoey had met with her brother's former family, a lot had changed during their absence, Kain even had a new sister. One they didn't knew about. She was happy for him, and for his family, but deep within. As much as she hated to admit it, she felt, displaced. She knew the feeling itself was silly, since Kain loved his family...all of them. Regardless, it was something Zoey couldn't help but feel this way. Fighting on with her conviction and trust towards her brother, Zoey decided to have some space between them, calm down and probably meet him later. But why would she bother Poor Lucas with that? "... I just came here to get some fresh air and rest my mind for a bit. Overworking is never healthy."Admittedly, it was relieving to share her feelings with someone. Even when it was just that brief. This placed a smile upon her lips, giggling playfully once Lucas offered them to retreat. "Yeah, you're right. No point on it" Standing from her sit, she walked next to him. Thanks to her ability to sense souls she was able to pull that much without the need to use her eyes. Of course, should she keep this, it was just a matter of time before an accident could happen should they not be careful picking their route. But just as a moment ago, there might be other fissures on the floor. Yet, at the same time, it could be that there weren't others. Still it was a gamble, one she preferred over being quiet and flustered away by Lucas's presence. She just hoped they didn't bump into stairs. But she could guess already that Lucas's was aware of her eyes, it didn't need much skill to figure that out, yet none of them pointed that out. And she probably wouldn't be the first to talk about said matter.

He wanted to press, intrigued as he was concerned, but decided to at least wait until they'd gone somewhere more comfortable. Or at least got her to open her eyes. Maybe she's blind? he thought in puzzlement. It still wouldn't explain why she seemed to insist on keeping them closed, but it was all he could think to assume.
Instead of digging his heels too deep too soon into the subject, he proffered another one of his vague-but-charming smiles, offering an arm for her to take. He wasn't sure why he did it, especially considering she still wouldn't look at him, but it felt natural. There was no romance behind it, no flirtation. Just friendliness, maybe an ounce of chivalry or something of the sort. He finally decided it was just to keep her from tripping if she intended to walk blind the entire way. "Ironically enough, the local Night Club isn't too far from campus. I know it's an odd place after we just met, but it's not like they'll serve students alcohol anyway. There's always fun to be found though, sober or not."
That was his only suggestion. The cafe's were too stuffy, the parks usually too dull and quiet, whereas the life of Death City's limelight were well suited to him. The music, the colors, the company. If she had any better options, he'd consider them, certainly. He just figured he might as well provide his first choice on the matter to break the ice. Upon hearing his suggestion, she was puzzled, a night club? She had faint memories of being there a few times but. Thoughtful about it, she considered her options, she couldn't just go back to her sit, since they were already heading for the exit. And walking blindly was just a no no without a partners. Other than that, her soul perception could help her avoid hitting people, so, the club didn't seem that bad. "Well, are there any good bands playing?"She asked, almost instinctively. After all, she was sensitive towards the groups. While open to almost all genres, she was picky as to how they played. After all, good lyrics with bad music wasn't that good, and good sound with awful letter was a no no. She liked a balance, among al the genres, her favorite was rock. But that didn't meant she wouldn't listen to other genres. Just as long as they balanced between lyrics and music. After all, giving the fact she'll most likely refrain from opening her eyes, sound would play a mayor role in this, meeting? "!"Zoey gasped, the thought of this being a possible date crossed her mind. But that couldn't be, after all they just met. It was a friendly meeting, nothing else. Why would she think of it on the first place? Whatever the reason was, she couldn't take the thought away. Thankfully, with her eyes closed, it was easier to digest the situation, and the damage was reduced merely to a soft blush after her gasp. "I'm sorry, you're helping me out and I'm already being picky..."Zoey commented, trying to leave that mental subject aside. After all, she sensed his soul and saw no ill intent, nor flared passion. So all he did was on good will. Giving back a soft smile, she turned towards him, with her sensitive ears it was easier to calculate the height his head was at, and so she faced Lucas as she apologized. "Anywhere would be fine."She assured.

"Dunno. S'always someone different. Sometimes a local DJ, sometimes a band from out of town. It's always decent though." He shot her a quick smile. "At least I haven't heard anything I've hated yet."
When he heard the gasp, he paused, quirking a brow down at her. Had she stubbed her toe on another crack in the tile? Or had she just remembered something important? Before he could ask, his mouth already open to do so, his phone began to vibrate in his pocket. The ringtone was an old hymn from India- his mother. With a deep sigh, he figured he shouldn't risk scaring her, so he pulled the phone from the pocket of his slim-fit jeans and answered. "Namastee, Maan," he tried not to mutter into the receiver as he greeted her in his grandmother's native tongue.
"Lucas!" his mother exclaimed from the other end, her accent noticeably thicker than his. "Where on Earth are you, dear? Have you any idea-"
"I was with my teacher, Maan... he introduced me to a new student." He cast a subtle wink down to his friend, fully aware of his lie. His look prayed her to be patient with him. "I'm showing her around the school now. It's kind of a... extra credit assignment." His tongue practically burned with the fib, but he'd gotten so used to it by now that he could ignore it. "I'll be home soon, I promise."
"If you say so, honey," she said a little wistfully. "I'm so, so proud of you, all grown up and-"
"Alright, Maan," he interrupted, face as stern as ever but a subtle, golden-brown blush tinting his cheeks. "Love you. See you tonight."
"I love you too, sweetie!"
Maybe he hung up too quickly or shoved the phone into his pocket too forcefully. He cleared his throat a little and tried to take on his usual cool attitude by ruffling his colored fringe with one hand. "Mothers," he managed a curt chuckle, opening the door and holding it for her once they reached it. "Well, let's hit it." [Exit to: Nightclub] ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

"Well that doesn't sound that bad. Can't wait to meet it."Startled, but only a little, she held just a bit tighter Lucas's arm when the phone rang. With the chatter going on, she giggled, as she knew it was a lie, but she'll give him credit for creativity and how fast she came up with such convincing tone. As he hang up, she raised an eyebrow in a playful manner while holding his arm with both hands. "So, am I now the subject of your homework? Now I'm curious about your major mr. Xuza Uriel: "Angel of Death" A couple days passed--about four if we're actually counting--and Xuza was on her way to the library, having taken a little lunch break to skim the scant selection of sandwiches and salads, subs and soups. She moved like a ghost through the halls, a talent she'd mastered out of necessity some time ago. Every time she heard someone stirring the air around a corner, and of course skipping the open doorways, she used her handy little ability to warp ahead of the little sighting. Still, there was a certain presence; just as she would like to have been invisible, stricken from the record of the hall's memory, and just as she was able to duck out of sight and quiet her footsteps away from anyone who might notice her, so it remained in equal parts the fact that she was there, that she could be there.
A very nice walk otherwise, hearing wrong answers righted and right answers mm'd into adequacy by the teachers in the little rooms. Somewhere above she heard music, instruments crying in frustration as the same macabre numbers were stabbed out by quiet violinists and cocky horn players over and over and over and...
From the other side of the next corner Xuza heard the heels of a smart lady whom many looked up to. Heard, but didn't register. She was distracted, forgetting to teleport altogether, and on autopilot rounded the corner as a normal person would have. She realised her mistake as soon as her eyes captured Mira's high-contrast silhouette.
"O-Oh, hi, Mira-san..." Her face was blank, but the way she almost tripped, startling, was a dead giveaway to her surprise. "So, uh..." Searching...! "How's life?" Nailed it.

NPC Mira Naigus Inteligence Department Headmaster The steps from the "smart lady" as Xuza's mind recalled. were just as fitting as her firm composture. Impecable from hair to toe, the disciplined teacher would reach just about the right time to catch up with the elusive Xuza. Coincidence? Perhaps. But when Mira's put into the equation there's always the room for wondering and plotting. How convenient of Xuza to show up right when Mira was assigned on contactnig the warping angel. "You're scaring the new students. Either perfect your warping skills or walk around like normal people do. Still, good improvisation. Wether you did it on purpose or not. Try public libraries, people there are more fascinated with ghost stories"Mira barely saw Xuza in the eyes, as her were fixed on the occupied agenda. To have anyone share more than a minute of eye contact with Mira must be either someone really fortunate or important. However she would lookt at Xuza one more time as she delivered a small folder. On it there was around 20-30 pages, yes that's a small folder, with all the surveilance information regarding the aparition of a "ghost girl" wandering around. Once Xuza started stammering however, the cold gaze of the iron dictator went straight into Xuza's face, if there was something she would not tolerate was uneasyness. Not from exemplar or promising prospects. EVER. "What's wrong?"A simple question with a lot of burden which showed Xuza she had caught her attention and not in a good way. While her semblance was calm at starts. The startle, followed by Xuza almost tripping caused a right eyebrow to raise on the dark skinned woman's face. Having Xuza delay a question as common as how was life made Mira's left side of her lips pull firmly. "Life's good ma'am. How is yours?"She would make her point by standing closer, invading Xuza's personal space with her presence. "Good day, hey didn't notice you there. Speak frankly Xuza."Lecturing the girl, she paused, sighing as she decided to close and cover her eyes with her right hand, giving Xuza some slack from her "eyes of penitence" as Illo once nicknamed them during one of the rarest occations where Mira took a break. Perhaps she would try just this once not to "slam her rulebook on a persons face" as Daniel described her to do so once. Well more like he told Illo given Daniel would never talk to her directly or casually like the iron phoenix did. Never the less, she tried to give Xuza some space from her eyes which appeared to be most of the problem. Most of the times. "Xuza, you could be one if not the best infiltrator shibusen has. But you won't go far if you skeep startling. You neet to let your tongue loose. I'm not going to bite you if you speak frankly with me but if you show me any sign of doubt, nervousness when around me I'll eat you alive. Your future here is so promising that I'll make you run a marathon to hell if I need to if that's going to get me the best of you."Said that, it would be awkward to keep her hand over her face all this time, so once said that, and believing it was enough time for Xuza to recover, despite de fact Mira was still within her personal space. She let her hand down and revealed once more the grey eyes which laid upon the warping angel. Fixing her figure within her crystal like irises.

 ✹▸ ▹ Who am I with? ❝ Xuza and Naigus ❞ ✹▸ ▹ What is this place? ❝ DWMA Hallway ❞ ✹▸ ▹ Does this look okay? ❝Casual ❞
Four days. Of course Yata was keeping track. He was counting down the days that he would be back in tip-top shape, moving freely and not having to worry about his injuries anymore. He was at least happy that his internal wounds had mostly healed though. The Wavelength Meister wouldn't be a meister of his wavelength if he couldn't use it! As he wandered through the school, he kept resonating with himself then letting the resonance subside, each time accessing more and more of his wavelength so that he could test where he should set his limit at. If he used too much, it sent a jolt of pain through his body and set back the time it would take his injuries to fully heal.
He was at a little under seventy-five percent. That's where Yata's limit sat. He hadn't accurately gauged where yet, but he did know that it was somewhere above seventy, but not quite seventy-five. He rounded a corner before he charged his body again. He could feel a dull ache that let him know that he was too close to the cap. Yata dropped the amount of wavelength he was using and tried again. No ache. "Right there.. Seventy-two," he muttered under his breath. Since he had been fighting using his wavelength since he set foot in the academy years ago, Yata could estimate his power in terms of percentages. Stein had taught him the basic ways to calculate it, but over time he had figured out how to guess a lot more accurately.
Yata's eyes scanned the hallway as he walked until he saw something that caught his attention. Naigus, the head of Intelligence for the DWMA, lecturing Xuza. His lips broke into a smile as he walked over to them, forgetting to shut off his self-resonance, so his body was surging with power. He approached them from behind Naigus and hadn't arrived until she was remarking on how Xuza shouldn't show any doubt or nervousness around the Intelligence Headmaster. Yata nodded in agreement at her statement, albeit his nod was clearly sarcastic.
"Yeah, Xuza. No need to be so timid," Yata piped up jokingly. While he was sure that Mira Naigus wouldn't literally eat anyone, as per the policy of the DWMA, he was curious about what kind of negative reaction that he would get for his comment. Having graduated from the academy the year before, the Wavelength Meister was well aware how strict the faculty could be. And Naigus was somewhere at the top of that list. Yet, he still wasn't really afraid of her anymore. Yata used to be wary of most of the schools staff in his years. I guess the time he had spent out of the city really changed that.
"How are you, Mira-san?" While asking his question, Yata threw a wink in Xuza's direction. He didn't know if she would understand his gesture or not, but his intended message was that he was drawing some of the fire from his new... friend? Yata considered her a friend, but the feeling might not have been mutual. Maybe she considered him more of an acquaintance? He mentally shook off the prospect. That was something that he could discover later. "Has anything changed since I've been away?" 'I wonder if anyone still even remembers who I am. Maybe the "Wavelength Meister" legacy died out after I left,' Yata thought in time with his verbal question. He looked between Naigus and Xuza, making sure that he kept both of them in his field of view. He had meant to ask what the folder Xuza was holding was about, but he held back for the time being.

Xuza Uriel: "Angel of Death" A couple times she tried to open her mouth, growing more frustrated inside each time the lecture continued. Believe this: it was not the actual words; for those were few; but the venomous substratum they rode in on from her eyes which made this little lesson on speaking one's mind a terrible exercise of patience instead. Seething by the time Yata arrived, noting a vague sense of his aura, Xuza exploded.
"WILL YOU BOTH SHUT UP!" She snapped, stamped a permanent footprint into the tiles there. "You startled me. It's a typical human reaction; never mind the fact that you seem to be looking for an excuse to pounce on someone for showing the slightest reflex--gimme that!--" she snapped up the file and flailed it as she went on-- "just so you can do this, when in all reality you're probably just waiting around the corner to---" Xuza's hand was twitching, but her eyes, stolen away into an invisible mad cloud galaxies away, went still and darkened with her mouth agape.
"... I'm sorry. It--It must've been madness..." She tried to shake it off, and after a moment found words again.
"So I ran into your friend the other day--we both did--but I'm assuming you knew that." She was pretending to be normal, and doing a solid job, but it was clear that there was madness in her, with unpredictable effects.
