Katarina spun, arms raised as she remained perfectly balanced. One motion after another led her to a surprisingly intricate twist off the beam. Her landing would have been perfect, execution flawless, were it not for the fact that alarms suddenly started blaring. She swore as she held her ankle for a moment, knowing that without a doubt she’d fallen on it wrong. Her Italian accent thicker than it usually was… She was alone in the gym.

Thankfully, no one else was around to see her graceless fall.

Orders came through the comm that sat on her Xavier Academy duffel bag. The telekinetic, Emma Frost, had somehow arranged for the clothing she’d had in a flat brought to the Academy…How they’d gotten past the H.Y.D.R.A. agents casing her property, she’d never know. Nor did she want to.

Her training would have left them in ribbons. Perhaps the X-Men left them alive. That was a small thing to be thankful for.

Kali was doing her best not to become the creature that H.Y.D.R.A. had wanted her to be…But beyond the very small pedantic teachings she’d picked up over the years—Her sense of morality was very skewed. No matter how she tried…She was always be a prettily wrapped monster.

Realizing that this wasn’t a test, and something actually was wrong, she curiously headed out of the gym—Towards the elevator. Hearing the harpy’s voice over her comm, her eyes rolled. As if she was listening to that half-wit. Her arrival to the upper floors gave way to shattered glass… What exactly had she missed in about an hour?

Her first thought in all the chaos was to try and run…To try and flee. Summers and Frost had sworn that she was safe here…Safe from H.Y.D.R.A. and S.H.I.E.L.D. She’d never believed it because of Rossi’s presence. But talking walking robots? That had Fury written all over it.

Or someone equally as hard headed. Robots. Again.

She snorted as she turned away from the main hall and started darting through the mansion…Getting outside wasn’t too difficult. It was getting past the big purple trash compactors that would prove difficult…It was getting past the rest of the school. Cursing her luck, she sighed as she strolled outside, throwing her bag on the porch.

The shifter could have transformed and took off from the roof… But as a bird of prey, the Sentinels would have likely shot her down. Scowling she turned towards the nearest commotion, and found herself standing a little ways from Isabella and several other team members. Just great. She moved a great distance away, passing her new acquaintance Eli, not wanting to hear the sound of the Alpha leaders voice.

Only to hear the announcement about Leonardo Rossi. Followed by a crash not long after. Her eyes found the robot that had spilled the beans as someone managed to knock it down like an oversized Lego…

A slow, sassy smirk crawled across her face as she stopped near the manin question, wary of the robot that was on the approach. She’d never had a situation come up where some type of creature or human wouldn’t be useful…What good would she be against these things? Her plan involved a great deal of dodging.

Thankfully, a dark haired girl seemed to cause the approaching Sentinel to short circuit. For the time being, the threat was more manageable. The same girl with the heart shaped face, Raine, rounded on the former S.H.I.E.L.D. operative…Kat took a deep breath, sucking in through her teeth at her expresion…The lightening bug either wasn’t good at hiding her emotions…Or didn’t care to. Katarina answered the girl smoothly…There wasn’t a H.Y.D.R.A. agent alive that didn’t know what they were. “They’re Sentinels, cara mia.”

Just then, the announcement from Scott Summers came through the comms and she raised her hand as he confirmed her words. It seemed that he was allowing them to join the fray. As if they needed permission. Cretino.

“You know Leonardo”, she drawled out his name, accent barely a whisper among her dulcet tones,” I’m rather surprised that I can honestly say—That wasn’t my fault.”

Part of her felt…Something, for the fact that his cover was blown so unnecessarily. But his little friends would simply have to realize that sometimes… Some things were better left unsaid.

Now the fighting really starts

User ImageHands moved deftly about the stove as he mixed the eggs with some cheese and some other herbs in the pan. He used a beater to mix the eggs rapidly about in the pan as the flame licked the metal beneath them. Leo, Jacen and a few others declined his offer of eggs. He nodded without any protest, if they didn't want anything to eat, it was up to them. Way he figured, more for him and Kerrigan. He continued to mix, and left the stove quickly to get himself a glass of water. The cool water felt good as he took a long sip. He then heard something that should not be heard on a school campus like theirs.

He heard an impact outside. The kind of impact that gave Roland the feeling that things were about to go from good to everlastingly crappy. Looking out the window, he saw what appeared to be a large robot walking around.

"Please tell me that this is some kind of joke down with the geeks down in the labs." he yelled out as he Leo asked him and Raine to come with him to meet and greet this new entity in their grounds. When he got outside they were all hit with the telepathic message to not engage the Sentinels. The Sentinels then did something interesting, when they scanned them, they registered him and Raine as unregistered mutants, but Leo was registered as something differently.

He was registered as a SHIELD agent. Well that is one hell of a development in recent events. He looked over to Leo and gave him a look that simply said, 'We're talking about this later.' He had to hear the story behind this. He was interrupted in his train of thought by the sight of a net line being launched at Raine, which Leo quickly prevented by tackling her out of the way. Leo then proceeded to kick the Sentinel in the head, causing it to lose it's balance. Before it could regain it's footing, Shadowcat rushed forward and phased through one of its legs. This was the straw that broke the camels back as the machine went to the ground.

Roland then took the opportunity to draw his armor on his body and rush forward to another approaching war machine. He closed the distance quickly as the machine attempted to swipe him away. Dumb move, as he managed to get his claws into the arm of the metal monster. He quickly began to climb up making his way to the shoulder of his mechanical beast. He then proceeded to look for a loose piece of metal that he could take advantage of. Finding it by the back of the head, he began to tear away at the metal and find his way underneath the armor components. He smiled as he tore into wires and circuits in the machine.

"Can we stop with the whole jurisdiction thing please?" he yelled out, wires and circuits flying out behind him as he continued to tear through, "We got giant ******** robots on the grounds and all I wanted to do today was eat some breakfast with my-" he was interrupted by the sound of a bolt of energy hitting him in the chest. As he soared in the air, he realized the damn thing may have some kind of defense system in mind for that event. However he smirked as he saw it go down on its knees. Landing on the ground he rolled quickly as he felt his chest. He felt only his bare chest as he realized that the blast went straight through his armor. He felt no injuries on his chest, he let out a deep sigh of relief in that regard.

He looked to the Sentinel that he brought to it's knees and saw that it was attempting to get back up, "Hey guys, we're gonna need to hit that one hard!" he yelled out, "I thought I got it, but turns out I didn't." he felt the armor slowly begin to rebuild over the hole. He decided against bringing up a weapon, figuring it would be better to worry about what was in front of him.

User ImageAspen had known full well it wasn't a good idea to sneak up on Orchid and the risks it potentially entailed such as being strangled, being stabbed by hair, getting her ear bitten off or whatever other crazy death scenario she could think of. Despite how harmless she liked to play herself off as sometimes, Aspen knew full well that Orchid's ability was actually rather versatile, it was something she could get creative with. All details of Orchid's potential to kill her aside, the risks were exactly what had had made it so much fun to sneak up on her in the first place. The people who were challenging to scare and the ones who would have potentially drastic reactions were always the most interesting to scare as far as the eccentric red headed Russian was concerned.

Upon Orchid chortling and informing her that all she'd been required to do was ask if she'd wanted to get in the shower with Orchid, Aspen merely stared at her, stone-faced, completely devoid of emotion. Her expression betrayed nothing of what she was about to say to the hair manipulator, still completely stoic as if Orchid's comment had upset her to the point she'd gone numb over it. Soon enough, however, the response came in a flat, monotonous fashion though the dialogue itself was enough to let the likes of Orchid know full well that Aspen was just ******** around due to the complete lack of severity in her words despite her tone and countenance being full on serious. "Ninjas. Do. Not. Ask." Her head was lowered, eyes practically glowering at the ground as she did so until she broke into a devious grin before poking Orchid in the boob and making a mad dash out of the shower with every intention of testing out how well she could slip and slide down the hall.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Aspen was content to walk around chatting with Orchid while her doused form dried off. Out of any of the people here on base Orchid and Aspen were the pair that could practically pull off any stupid stunt on the other and act as if nothing had happened minutes later. The whole shower fiasco was something that had been completely forgotten by the time Orchid had finished up her make up and they were making their way down the halls. The only reminder serving them of the incident being the Russian's hair or clothes dripping every now and then and the tapping of her bare feet against whatever it was the floors were made out of. However, they were engaged in a conversation to things completely unrelated despite the fact a normal person would probably have perceived the shower incident as a major invasion of privacy and so on so forth. Needless to say, the Russian wasn't very good about giving personal space to others.

Once the ground began rumbling below them the killer instinct in Aspen instantly switched on and she immediately went into combat mode. She dived under the nearest available surface that happened to be a table and leered out from underneath it until she concluded that the cause was not from behind them or near them and therefore not yet an immediate threat. It was then that Orchid decided to chance taking a look out the window and determined exactly what it was that had caused the rumbling in the first place. Aspen's eyes glazed over slightly, turning to a shade of amber upon realizing what it was that had decided to show up on their door step today. She wasn't going to be a human prisoner, some toy, some experiment. Her freedom was her own and she would do with it as she pleased and these creations were a very definite threat to her liberation. They were not going to claim what she'd worked for.

"We aren't," Aspen stated firmly with the same lack of emotion she had previously when in the shower though this time it was not feigned, "going to stand down. I do not follow ludicrous orders. They are here to take our security and liberty and if we don't comply they'll kill us anyhow. I've no desire to comply which means they can try to kill me but they're just going to end up as scrap metal. There's no negotiating with fear. They've made their choice and now we make our stand." There was no way she was going to hand over her freedom to some tin metal cans made by humans with the sole purpose of destroying her. She would fight to the death to defend what she believed in and for what she believed was worth fighting for. Her freedom was well worth risking her life for. After all, what was the point of living if one wasn't free to do as they pleased?

That was when her comm lit up with the voice of her alpha leader confirming that the alphas were not going to stand down and that they were going to mobilize. ******** yeah, they weren't going to be pussies about this after all! She would have to remember to give Bella a pat on the shoulder or something for being sensible about the situation and acknowledging that there was no appeasing these things. Had people not learned anything about appeasement in the world ******** wars? It had gotten people no where and that wasn't about to change now. This was a new war in a new age and they had to stand and fight. "We're mobilizing. At least my leader has enough sense to realize appeasement isn't going to do anything in a situation like this. Shall we go say hi to the robots and play with them, ma cherie?"

Upon Orchid formulating a plan to punch holes in the robots via Aspen's own abilities she merely grinned at the idea. Orchid hadn't even needed to ask, after all, when wasn't Aspen game for having a chance to destroy things via her mutant ability? An adrenaline junkie forever she would be whether it was sky diving, dirt biking or fighting robots that had every intention of annihilating her existence, it was all the same to her: a rush. That part of her past she would never escape, she'd embraced that. Living a normal life was something the Russian would never be content with. "I never realized," Aspen stated with the grin of a vixen, "you'd gotten THAT worked up over me attacking you in the shower. Sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me: lets do this. You know I love destroying things, it's like my sole purpose of being born was to do just that."

Peyton had made a couple of remarks about his ability to fly, saying as how it would be extremely useful and how she wished she could also fly. It was a common wish to be able to fly – hearing it come from Peyton made Anthony feel convicted though – like he just took advantage of it every single day. Granted, it was sort of a scary way of flying, since the sensation felt more like falling than it did anything else. He’ll admit, the first couple of times he tried it, he was scared out of his wits. It took awhile, actually, to be able to get used to his brand of flying.

“Oh yeah,” Anthony nodded in response to her noting the usefulness of his power of flight. “I mean, whenever I go to the grocery store, and I have to reach those high shelves… that’s where that comes in.” He couldn’t help but smiling – he had of course used it for more heroic things, like saving people from burning buildings or catching falling construction workers – but he used it for everyday things too. She mentioned something about springboards and bars… so she was a gymnast, then. It was a great way to keep in shape, not that Anthony had dabbled in anything like that. He just resolved to fly everywhere – part of the reason why he was such a terrible driver.

He had asked her what her power was, to which the young blonde gave a very obscure answer. This made Anthony’s brow furrow as well as his left eyebrow to arch, wondering momentarily if she meant she had telekinesis. Anthony soon found out though that this was not the case. She turned, and suddenly, the whole ground and forest in front of her as at her whim. The gravity manipulator’s mouth opened slightly in awe… it was… unreal. Anthony never thought that such a destructive force could be housed in such an innocent looking creature. Now he was wishing that he could do that – he always had to get up close and personal in a fight… which always left a bruise or two.

“Holy crap, you just Fus Ro Dah’ed the entire grounds,” Anthony finally said, referencing the game Skyrim, “I’d trade my flying to be able to do that for a day.” She went over the more technical parts of her power, similar to how Anthony explained his. It was very impressive, to be honest.

Just as he was about to say something else though, he could see something just over the tree line. Actually, a bunch of somethings. As they got closer, it seemed like they were humanoid in shape… and the weirdest freaking colors. They were… giant robots? What? Anthony could only watch in confusion as the huge robots landed around the mansion and proceeded to utterly destroy their outer defenses. Well, that can’t be good… he thought to himself, glancing over to Peyton.

One of the huge robots spotted them, walking over to them in the scariest freaking way possible, speaking in the scariest freaking voice possible. Something about unregistered mutants must be detained… or something. Anthony wasn’t really paying attention to what it was saying… only that it was big, it was threatening, and it was approaching them fast. Just then, one of those mind-rape messages came in from the Headmistress, advising everyone to not engage the huge robots.

“I’m fine with that…” he looked over to Peyton, “are you fine with that? I’m fine with that…” he assuredly repeated himself, nodding his head. The big robot lifted his hand though… almost as a stopping motion – but then Anthony could see the huge cannon inside of its hand. “Um… maybe we should move…” A blue light was seen charging in the robot’s hand, but Anthony was already on the move. It appeared that his reflexes to help people hadn’t died down over the past few months, as Anthony scooped up Peyton and took to the skies, using his power in both respects as he was flying and making Peyton lighter than she was so that she was easier to carry.

Going up high enough so that they were at a safe distance, Anthony said, “I’m not even going to ask what those things are.” Looking around, he could see that there were at least a dozen of them around campus, and some people were already out to fight them. Well great – a relaxing morning turned into a huge brawl. “I’m guessing that Fus Ro Dah thing is going to come in handy in a moment…”

Some more communication buzzed around, mostly everyone trying to give and take orders, but eventually it came down to Scott Summers finally giving them the order to engage. They had to find their team leaders though. Speak of the devil, Narcissa sent out of a communication telling them to meet up at the back of the mansion. Looking down, he spotted the easily visible platinum blond hair of the Sun Queen. “My codename is Graviton, by the way,” Anthony muttered, as he floated down with Peyton to the ground.

Touching down, he spoke to Narcissa, “Newbies, reporting for duty,” he gave a small, informal salute, getting into a battle stance and getting alert.

Farren pressed the volume button on her earpiece when voices started coming across the wavelengths, in an effort to hear over the metal scrapping Wolverine and Veritas were causing on their chosen Sentinel. Cyclops had given them the go-ahead, effectively voiding Emma's original command. The floramancer briefly pondered if the two headmasters were challenging each other's command, but she shoved the thought away and focused instead on what really matter. They were on the offensive and had been given the green light to utterly obliterate the robots.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. When Solaris confirmed Cyclop's orders and citing they were congested behind the mansion, Ivy peered through the trees. She spotted more of the Sentinels and patches of two or three mutants working together against individual robots. If reinforcements from inside the mansion ever made it actually into the fight, the mansion might have a chance. But, as it stood, the teens would have to pull out all the stops and working collectively, not just Alphas & Omegas, but as mutants if they hoped to at least limp away from this with their freedom still in tact.

Ivy turned her yellow eyes back to two quarreling in front of her with the closest Sentinel. The machine stood almost essentially in the same spot, choosing to rotate in place where Veritas and Wolverine had damaged its legs. Its stationary position gave the nature wielder an idea and she placed both of her hands to the tree beside of her and breathed in deeply, visualizing an almost pipeline network beneath her feet to the war-machine a few yards away. Sunlight poured over her as branches retracted into the trunk, the energy boost aided her as she used her manipulation power to direct the roots over to the Sentinel through the soft dirt. She could feel the tree trunk under her hands shrinking in berth as she moved its lifeforce across the yard.

Ivy bent her knees to the ground until her hands had reached the hole the tree had essentially burrowed through. She could feel it under the earth and she looked up back to the fight closest to her. Just before the tree was going to break through the topsoil, the floramancer shouted at Wolverine and his mini-me.

"Veritas! Wolverine! Incoming!"

"At least I've chosen a side."

Not The Best Way To Start The Day...

User Image
Roland commented that he hoped that this was some sort of prank brought on by the techies that resided in the lower basements. Solemnly, Leo shook his head. “It’s not,” he merely responded, only briefly glancing in his direction. Words could hardly describe the mix of emotions he was feeling right now. Fear, because he knew what these things were, and what they were capable of. Confusion, because he knew the Sentinel program had been deactivated even before he joined SHIELD. Anger, because he knew that someone in Washington had confirmed the order on this; not only green-lighting the Sentinel program again, but attacking a school full of children.

Someone was going to pay for this.

Probably against his better judgment, Leo was soon standing in front of the metal behemoth, Raine and Roland at his side. When the Sentinel gave them the repetitive orders to stand down and be taken into custody, Raine asked something about civil rights. Leo almost chuckled at what she said, really. While a government agent, Leo did so many things that were illegal that it wasn’t even funny. Someone once said that a spy was just a criminal with a government paycheck. No truer words had been said.

“You’d be surprised,” Leo said, keeping his focus on the Sentinel. “There is probable cause: a lot of us are walking time bombs. So if you were the US Government, would you send a bunch of cops with guns? No, not when some people here are immune to normal weapons anyways. So you send giant robots that have the ability to incinerate anything in sight. Consider this an abnormal arrest.”

The first Sentinel attacked, but was soon taken care of. While Roland and Raine were already going for the other Sentinel, Bella sent out her communication to the Alphas, telling them to directly defy the orders given by Cyclops and Emma Frost. Taking out his comm-Bluetooth piece, Leo hooked his into his ear, making sure that he could listen to anymore incoming orders. Roland had been blown back by a Sentinel’s auto-defense system, and said something about hitting it hard, to which Leo nodded. That was really the only way to deal with them.

“I’m going to need some people out front, Siren,” Leo muttered into his comm unit, knowing that the courtyard was around the side of the mansion, whereas Leo and his group were out in front, and the Sentinels seemed to be more and more attracted to their spot.

Raine asked the question that was on most of the student’s minds. Leo opened his mouth to answer, but it was done for him… by none other than Katarina. Looking over to the former HYDRA agent, Leo’s face turned into a scowl. This was not what he needed right now. She was even giving him this sort of look that this was his fault… again. Like the mall incident.

Before he could retort, however, the broadcast from Cyclops hit his ears. It was about time… it was only delaying the inevitable, keeping the Teams out of the fight. Especially when some of them knew a lot about these things. Plus, there was no way Leo was going to let things that were supposed to be in a junk yard attack his home, as well as all of his friends.

Turning to Kat, Leo’s eyes narrowed at her as she made the snide remark about his little secret becoming uncovered, trying to analyze her intentions. Was she really out of the game, like Leo was? He couldn’t be sure, but his old nemesis had plenty of times to kill him before in the past couple of weeks – the mall, at the mansion… if she wanted to kill him, she probably would have tried already. After a few brief moments of staring her down, he merely said,

“Are you just going to stand there, or turn into something useful?”

He was getting into a certain mode – a mode where his face was etched with a sort of permanent scowl, and his focus was so sharp that it could cut metal. His mind was thinking more clearly, and he was more ruthless than normal. Looking over to the Sentinel and he and Shadowcat had knocked down before, he noticed that it started to move. He began to walk over to it almost casually, pressing the ‘Broadcast All’ button on his comm so that he was talking to all of the Alphas.

“Okay guys, here’s a brief run-down of what we’re dealing with here. These things are called Sentinels – huge robots made by the government. They’re mean, lean, mutant-killing machines. They can take a lot, so you’ve gotta make sure that you can hit them hard. Best advice…” Leo had reached the head of the lying down Sentinel. Ant strength still activated, he bashed the Sentinel’s neck repeatedly, sparks flying out as circuits were broken and connections damaged. Then, getting behind the head, he twisted it off, growling as he did so. “Take off the head. Once you do that…” Spinning, Leo threw the head towards Shadowcat, who phased through it, killing all of the circuitry inside before the head sizzled and died down, “get it as far away from them as possible. Or fry it.”

It was easier said than done, but now that the cavalry had arrived, Leo was confident that they could take these things down… until he heard one of them call for reinforcements, and that apparently the kill order was now in effect. Now the stakes were high.

And there were still two of them at their end. Roland had already started to damage one, and Leo hoped that he had heard the announcement about how to take them down. Raine managed to freeze one in place, and that was the one that Leo decided to go after. Taking a running start, Leo leapt into the air, rearing his right fist back before smashing it full-force into the Sentinel’s head. A tear appeared at the neck as the head started to come off a little, exposing wires. Unfortunately, this woke it up, and the Sentinel instantly smacked Leo away as if he were a pesky fly. With hardly any time to brace himself, Leo crashed into the ground hard, grunting in pain. The ribs on his left side were now either bruised or cracked… it was too difficult to tell. His right arm had gotten dislocated… a painful pop put it back into place though. The Sentinel he just attacked started to come after him again, but Leo managed to leap out of the way before it could stomp him into the ground.

Omega - The Grounds - Of Minds and Machines

User Image
Maddy's head turned slightly as the air around her heated with the blast of energy sent out from Narcissa's opened hand. The light burned into the legs with a shattering metallic sound as it stumbled. When the girl faced the monstrosity again, her teeth clenched. The thing was damage where Narcissa had struck it, but it wasn't at all the level of damage she had hoped for from the other. She couldn't tell if her leader was holding back, or if the armor was really that strong. The latter would be more of a problem, if it were true. Psyche wasn't exactly working with adamantium blades. If she tried to go that powerful with them she would probably pass out. Still, she thought, she might still be able to cut through this thing if she got to its weaker points.

With the machine stumbling, Maddy took two quick steps forward, beginning to sprint at the thing, burning purple psi-knives in hand. As she did she, though, she ducked instinctually as a shot of red came into her peripheral vision. Before she realized whom it had come from, the blast stuck the Sentinel in the chest, knocking the giant on its back.

It clicked in her mind a moment later, Solaris confirming it. "Long time; no see, Cyclops." she breathed as the leader of the X-Men came up beside them. It was certainly good to have another heavy hitter with them, let alone another ranged fighter. Damnit, she could really use a bow right about now. Still, Maddy thought, now was not really the time for lectures from the great and powerful Cyclops. She knew perfectly well what these things were, and they had made it clear enough what they intended to do. No way Xavier's school was going to go down like Genosha. It was also foolish of him to think that the junior teams would stand down, especially the Omegas. At that, a three story tall robot had landed in front of two women who had been trained since they were kids to be warriors, attempting to capture them like animals while threatening their home, yet Scott Summers had wanted them to stand down?

Taking the distraction that Narcissa and Scott were giving the thing, Maddy dashed off at a curved angle to her left, moving to the side of the machine. It would know perfectly well where she was, of course, but if it had scanned Cyclops and knew who he was, along with the know hovering Red Queen before it, the short haired, skinny girl with knives would be at the lowest of its priorities. That of course, was a rather large mistake on its part.

Bullets flew from the thing's hand right, it still focusing on the other girl. Very convenient, that, as Narcissa dropped the thing with several more blasts of light. Not so convenient was the fact that it was calling in more of its kind. The ground shuttered violently as tons of metal fell with a crash.

Somebody else must have showed, at that, because a globe of energy seemed to be drawing the machines attention, and it definitely didn't resemble anything Maddy had ever seen Narcissa do.When a a shot similar to the orb screeched past her, she knew. Another person who should know how to fight damned well had showed: Leion. She didn't even notice, however, another Omega, Anthony showing up to the fray. She had been wondering what had been taking the others so damn long to get out there, including the rest of the senior team, but right now she had enough to focus on.

Although it was down, the Sentinel raised its other arm, which had not been shooting, outstretching it for another attack. Maddy was but feet away from her, and it had apparently chosen her as the immediate and easiest target at this point. Instead of bullets, however, this palm began to glow, building slowly at first, then quickly into a blast of yellowish energy at her. Maddy's eyes widened as she jumped to her right, rolling. on the ground. The energy burned into the ground, smoke and dust rising from where it had struck. With its legs taken out however, Maddy was able to get quickly past it's arms. Using the blades in her hands, she jump onto the Sentinel's back, digging the psi-knives into its armor to pull herself up. She reached the neck quickly, with thick metallic wires exposed in the slight rotational gap there. That was all she would really need. Now one single, long blade appeared in her hands. It glowed, made strong by the thoughts she used to create it. With a yell, the mutant girl's eyes flared as she stabbed downward with all the force she could muster. She swung the blade to her left, cutting the connections of the the head to the body. Sparks flew upwards at her, catching her shirt and burning tiny holes in it as she repeated the motion, slicing again to her right.

"Shut. The Hell. DOWN," said Psyche, slashing from side to side until the machine's head was completely severed.

With a whirring noise, and what might have been another attempt to tell them all to stand down, the lights in the machines eyes flickered rapidly before shutting off. Chest rising with every breath, she looked over to Scott, Narcissa, Leion, and the newly arrived Anthony.

"Well I'm certainly glad I've come home, you know?" she said, sarcastically, trying to slow her breathing. "'Maybe I'll go unpack, have a walk around the labs, see what the blue fur-ball down there's been up to? How have you been, then, Leion?"

Unfortunately, she knew perfectly well more were coming. That thing had called for more, and from the sky came two more of the gigantic machines, landing in front of her, smoke flowing from their boots as the propulsion systems eased them to the ground.

As the thick gray smoke lifted, she saw both of the Sentinels raising their hands, as light began to grow in their palms.

"Destroy."

"Crap."

Tara Kiernan
Mutation: Geokinesis
Alpha
Location: Lounge --> Courtyard --> Outside Girl's Dormatory - Some kind of boxing gloves

User Image

Tara moved easily through the lounge, informingLillian of their new sleeping arrangements before moving over to her own chair to strike up a conversation with Blake and Thomas.  It was like watching an animal in its natural habitat – only, Tara could be far more dangerous when provoked.

Thomas’ reactions to her insinuations didn’t disappoint in the slightest, laughing when he asked how he was supposed to know which ones were the girls sneaking back to their own dorm rooms this morning.

So, Tommy boy –there was more than one.  You can’t even keep them straight.  And here I was, thinking you were a proper gentleman,” she responded with a chuckle, running her fingers back through her hair.  Blake apparently found the conversation as funny as she did, quick to point out that he was not in cahoots with her at all.  He was alright, in her book.

Their conversation didn’t get far beforeLillian approached them, telling the boys that she needed some time alone with the geokinetic.  A grin spread across her features, giving a nonchalant shrug and a quirked eyebrow as the girl all but demanded help in moving her things from her old room to her new one.  An incredulous smile spread across her features as the power mimic pushed her legs from the arm of the chair where they were resting, though the laugh that escaped her showed that she didn’t mind helping the girl move at all.  It was already apparent that she’d made the right choice.

Talk about us behind our backs, huh?  Sure you’re not just going to check us out as we walk away and then talk about how good we look?  It’s what I would expect from you two.”  She glanced over her shoulder with a grin as Blake called out after them

The girls set off into the hallways towards the dorm, Tara laughing when the power mimic asked if she was one to want to cuddle with her roomie at night.

Only occasionally – one of those little things we’ll have to work on now that we’re roomies.  But, I should warn you – I sleep in the buff.  So, let’s keep that little touching thing of yours to a minimum until we get everything squared away,” she responded with a coy grin.  They barely got out of the room, however, before Tara stopped, brown eyes flicking down to the ground as she began to feel vibrations coming up through the foundation.  Whatever it was – it was large.  And there was more than one.

Slowly, she turned back into the lounge, moving towards the windows to see the large forms of robots of some kind, touching down around the grounds.  Almost as if she were cued, Bella entered the Lounge, calling the robots “sentinels,” though the geokinetic would be lying if she pretended to know what the Siren was talking about.  At least Thomas, and Blake for that matter,  seemed to understand on some level – she hated feeling out of the loop, but now wasn’t the time for a full briefing.  As they were standing here, all hell seemed to be breaking loose.

Instictively, the brunette pulled away from the windows as their leader asked Thomas to go get a new girl that was in the Game Room, calling to their team mentor for orders.  Some of the students were already leaping into action, despite the distinct orders for the students to stand down.  Seemed about right, given what she knew of the Alphas and Omegas.  What she didn’t expect was Bella to promote retaliation against the sentinels – she was normally the one calling for diplomatic solutions – solutions that would keep them from being injured.

Call it a hunch, but Tara didn’t think that was going to work this time around.  Especially now that “dangerous” mutants had been discovered amongst them.

Poor Leo.

Thomas returned with his charge, likely a new Omega, and Tara remained silent as her team leader introduced herself and laying out the girl’s options for her.  The girl responded in kind, Tara making sure to note her codename in case they needed to communicate on the field.  She simply nodded when Siren asked her and Lillian to watch after the girl if she decided to go outside with them, giving the girl a small grin.

Gotcha, Boss.”  The order was given for Alphas to mobilize in the courtyard, engage in groups and use extreme caution , her eyes moving back out the window to see the battle that had already begun.  Thomas offered himself as a human shield to those that needed it, Tara forcing back a small laugh.

Always the gentleman,” she responded with a passing brush of his shoulder with her hand.  A laugh did escape her as Emy voiced the downside of his power – martyrdom wouldn’t do them any good in their current situation.

The group headed towards the door, following behind their team leader.  Marcel broke away from the group en route, off to investigate a crash down one of the hallways.  She didn’t say anything – that was his own prerogative.

By the time they got to the Courtyard, some of the other Alphas had already started to assemble as ordered.  The Z-men that were still on base had joined the fray as well, though their hardest hits seemed to merely stun these machines as opposed to really taking any of them out.

While waiting for orders, Tara started to take hold of the large decorative rocks surrounding the courtyard, ripping them from the landscaping and getting them ready for use, just in case.  Her eyes glanced over to Lillian, raising an eyebrow slightly before motioning down to the exposed skin of her arms.

Want some earthy firepower?  I think you might need it,” she said simply, falling silent as Leo’s voice sounded over their comm units.  He explained what they were up against, advising them to focus on the heads, causing the geokinetic to grin slightly.

That was something she could do.

Copycat, Jinx – We’ll get the robot near the girl’s dorms.  They’ve ruined a perfectly good morning, and quite frankly, that pisses me the ******** off,” she said simply, kicking off her shoes to press her bare feet against the ground.  It might seem like a strange choice from other’s eyes – for Tara, it meant that she’d have a stronger control of her powers.  Hoping that the girls would follow her, Tara started off towards the Sentinel that had just finished slamming it’s fist through the Academy walls, apparently after a student that it was having trouble grabbing.

What a perfect target.

Stopping a decent distance away from the target, the geokinetic’s hands rose in a simple boxing stance, two of the large decorative rocks she’d discharged earlier raising into the air and hovering in place.

Aim for the head,” she muttered to herself, releasing a deep breath as she saw the sentinel’s glowing yellow eyes round on her and her, hopeful, companions.

Unregistered Mutants detected.  Surrender yourself for registration or be destroyed,” the booming mechanical voice sounded before the machine rose up to it’s full height and extended an open palm towards them.  Tara wasn’t going to give the sentinel time to launch any kind of attack at them.

I don’t think so,” she grunted, swinging her right hand around in a crude hook, the corresponding hovering rock swinging around in time with her fist and slamming into the side of the sentinel’s head.  The weight of the rock knocked the machine into a side step, the second rock already thrown forward in a corresponding hook.  If they could get it on the ground, she’d be able to crush it, no problem.  The problem was going to be getting it there…

_______________Peyton Wolf

.: Spira | Omega | Super Breath | Back of the Mansion :.

______________________________'Huffing and puffing.'

User Image"See?" Peyton responded to the comment about grocery shopping, "I have to climb up the shelves." She let a soft laugh escape her, particularly because it was true. When she was at a store, in need of something on a high shelf she did what she had to do to get it. Sometimes if there was someone nearby that could get it she would ask for help. But honestly, she liked to solve her own problems. What good was it to always have to rely on others?

He was more impressed with her ability than she’d expected. Pleased as punch at the reaction Tony had given after her little demonstration, the blonde beamed triumphantly at her new friend. 'Fus Ro Dah' was a term lost on her, but she got the gist of what he was saying. He mentioned trading his power for hers for a day, but before she could tell him was a nuisance her ability could be she noticed his eyes catch sight of something and turned her head to see what it was.

Large, colorful robots. They invaded the area around the mansion, clearly making no attempts at stealth. Peyton was already back on her feet when one of the robots approached them, her eyes glued to it, watching carefully as it neared her and Tony. It was more than apparent that they weren't friendly in the least as they marched through the grounds, blasting away. It certainly put things into perspective. Tony's interruption to her morning routine was nothing compared to this. And she had actually been enjoying his interruption, it didn't look like these guys would present her the same pleasant company.

They were scanned by the robot and declared unregistered mutants, which indeed they were. What stood out to her most, though, was that this big hunk of machinery wanted to capture them. Her freedom wasn’t something she would give up easily.

After the message not to engage the robots, Tony was quick to voice his obedience at the instruction from the headmistress. Peyton, on the other hand, was still stuck on what it was that the robot wanted. Was she fine with compliance to their authority figure? Not exactly. She certainly wasn't going to stand here and be detained, and running hadn't even occurred to her yet. She normally faced her problems head on, as she was prepared to do now. Tony didn't seem so sure of himself as he asked if she was 'fine with that,' most likely trying to convince himself by repeating that he was fine with that.

Yeah. right. She didn't really know what she should do, she had never been in a situation like this before. But she was acting completely on instinct now anyway. "Do you want to go with it?" She questioned, more rhetorically than anything.

Fight or flight? It wasn't even a debate in her head, or her gut. Peyton was a fighter. A competitor. A person who didn't give up, didn't go down easily, and definitely didn't surrender. Fear? Yeah, that must have been in her somewhere. She was afraid of what might happen if they gave in to the robot's demand, for instance. Despite what some of her friends and family thought, she did know fear. But letting it show just wasn't an option. She refused to give anyone that satisfaction. Of seeing her scared. And her determination to secure her freedom, and Tony's, greatly outweighed any fear in her. Stubborn was another thing that she was. She had been just about to test how powerful her ability really was, but before she knew it she had parted ways with the Earth's surface.

As she was scooped up and they shot up into the sky, she was taken by surprised, so focused on the robot that she hadn't predicted what Tony might do. The first thing she did when she was torn from the ground was grab tightly onto her flying companion, perhaps not completely confident in his ability to carry her. He didn't seem strained, most likely due to his ability, but she wasn't about to let go of him until they reached solid ground again. So while her instinct was to fight, Tony's was flight. Literally, they were flying. Unfortunately, she was a little too caught up in what was going on down on the ground to really enjoy it.

It was hard to say whether she felt safer in the sky or on the ground. They were high enough that it seemed relatively safe, but what if they were shot out of the sky? That blue canon looked like it could do the trick. If Tony was shot down they would both plummet to the ground. Maybe she could use her super breath to soften their blow. She wasn't sure she could get it just right though. On the ground, at least she had been in control. She could run or move to wherever she wanted, unlike now, where she was at Tony's mercy. There were worse people she could be in the hands of though.

'Fus Ro Dah' again. Still clueless to where the term had come from, she at least knew what he was referring to. She didn't respond to it right away, still looking down at the ground below, until the orders from the headmaster, and what she had to assume was the team leader. "Yeah," she spoke up "I could probably help get them away from the school." she mentioned, the thought of blowing them back forcefully already in her head.

He told her his codename and she committed it to memory. "Mine's Spira." She returned as they reached the Earth's surface. This is how they would have to refer to each other, to protect their identities from the robots. It wasn't until her bare feet made contact with the ground that she realized she hadn't any shoes. But... bigger fish to fry. At least she wasn't alone, as Tony had bare feet as well. She released her new friend from the tight hold she'd had on him and turned to the woman (Narcissa) he was addressing, though her attention remained more with the robots that were confronting those on the grounds. Stomping around and causing general chaos.

They were just in time to see someone (Madison) take one of the menacing machines down. But there wasn’t much of a break before two more landed in front of them. "Clear!" She burst out suddenly, the same thing she had always shouted at the gym before vaulting. A warning for others to clear the way for her. She drew in a much deeper breath than she had for the demonstration she had given Tony, filling her lungs as much as she could while she watched the sentinels charge their attacks. She hunkered down, grounding herself as best she could with her stance. It was time to see how handy her ‘Fus Ro Dah thing’ could really be.

Filling her lungs to capacity had funneled the surrounding air at a high speed. Now she used all of the might she could muster to shove the air back out at a much higher speed than before, hoping the force would disrupt the sentinels’ aim, knock them back away from the school, anything… She could tear trees from the ground, they would have to be pretty damn heavy not to be affected. And luckily, she had a guy for that. Her mouth was a little too preoccupied to mention it now though.

OMEGA: Time to cut down some toy soldiers.

User ImageIt was chaos there was fighting going on all over the place. Small groups here and there taking on the sentinel threat. This place was just never allowed to be in peace for more then two months at a time. If it was not one or more villains of the X mens rogues gallery with an axe to grinds and something to prove it. No now it was the gaint killer robots made specifically for the perpose of attempting to capture or eradicate mutants. Really what were humans so afraid of? Sure some mutants held the power to bring great ruin and harm to the world, but at the same time there were mutants that if allowed to live and prosper could bring man kind untold prosperity and peace. A mutant like Elixir can cure any ailment given time, Gideon, Logan, and Thomas' blood could all be used to syntisize medicines for nearly everything. Sure there were folks with the flip side of that coin. Cissa could leave the world in ashes, Pheonix could cause the sun to explode wiping out the solar system. At the same time those destructive powers could be used to good purposes.

Logan had dodged the blast from the large robot. The older feral mutant had faced the automatons before on Genosha when they were used in retaliation for Magneto's attack on New York.

Gideon climbed further up the sentinel. As Logan provided the distraction. It didn't take long for the younger mutant to scale. As he was about to strike the neck area of the robot he was caught of guard as it's grabling tenticle wrapped around his ankle. It wasn't hard to for the sentinel to pull Gideon off although doing more damage to itself thanks to the adamantium claws imbedded in it.

Logan had just taken a bullet to the leg as the Sentinel opened fire using it's gatling machine gun. When the two feral mutants heard Ivy shout their names in warning. Veritas didn't need to move he had been tossed to the side hitting a tree. Grunting at the impact against the large old oak.

Roots began to come up through the ground under the sentinel throwing off any balance the machine had. With the damage to it's legs it couldn't use the thrusters in it's feet. It attempted to take a step to stay upright, only succeeding in falling on to it's back.

User ImageVeritas and Wolverine were quick to recover from the surprise aid from Ivy in the form of nature itself. Taking full advantage to the things prone position to strike at it's head. And from opposite sides proceeded to rip their claws through it. Sparks flew as wires metal and other precious components it needed to function were destroied.

"Criti...cal....d...d...dama..ge sustained..............." The sentinel said as it's robotic voice faltered and the red lights of it's eyes blinked out.

The pair started to scan the grounds to see which next to target. Or if any groups needed back up.

"Thanks for the help Ivy. Nice move knocking it to the ground. Think you can do that to a few more?" Veritas said as his eyes swept over the battle field.

"There's still plenty more tin cans to cut down to size....lets get movin." Wolverine said gruffly and annoyied that once more his home was being attacked. Ivy was free to go with them or head off to help others if she felt her powers were best suited else where.

Alpha: Lounge to outside to deal with the robot invasion.

User ImageLillian couldn't help but laugh at the comments said as she walked over to the group. Tara sure did love teasing with those she is with. But always in good fun, or so far that's how it has been. It was something the power mimic certainly found amusing.

She quirked an eyebrow when Thomas teased at her saying it had been a long time since she had seen Blake. And of course Blake didn't miss the opportunity to chime in teasingly as well. “Well aren't you two hilarious. I can get you two a slot at the Comedy Barn in town just say when.” Lillian said with a wink.

“It is nice isn't it. Especially when those faces make models cry with envy. I hope to see you around sometime and not find you have run off in the night.” She quipped to the cowboy. Before starting to usher Tara from the room.

The power mimic and the geokenetic were certainly going to get along famously as roommates. Tara hadn't seemed to be annoyed by her demanding help in moving. The comments from the boys about the pair leaving so they could talk about them behind their backs. Lillian couldn't help but giggle a little at it. Especially with Tara's quip back to the pair. “Of course Tara they hate to see us go, but love to watch us leave.” Lillian said bumping her new roommates hip with her own.

“I have no problem with you sleeping in the buff. So I guess to be safe I may need to keep one of Forge's power nullifying rings by my bed. Then we won't have anything to worry about.” She said back with a mischievous grin on her face. Stopping when Tara did and looked at her confused when she caught the look on the girls face. “What's up Tara?” She asked curious.

When she peered out the window confused at the robots landing on the lawn, Bella appeared and gave a name to the bots. Sentinels there were old files on them on Forge's computers but he made it clear Lillian wasn't allowed to access that set of files. Right now the girl was wishing she hadn't respected the man's wishes. Perhaps she could of offered some insight if she had. “Well so much for moving into my new room.” She said with a sigh.

Orders came through saying to stay put and not engage the metal titans. It surprised the young power mimic, as on any other occasion they would sent out to engage the enemy.

Siren seemed to have other plans on her mind. Looks like she was going to mobilize the Alpha's to protect their home like many had done before against other threats before. And asking Tara and herself to look after the new girl Gracie if she decided to accompany them outside. “You got it Siren.” She said as the Alpha leader proceeded to use her comm to send orders to the rest of the Alpha's.

Once out in the courtyard Landslide pulled an impressive display of her powers before offering their use to Lillian. “Don't mind if I do.” She replied. The girl certainly packed a nice power, at times Lillian wanted a offensive ability of her own like Rogue so she didn't always have to rely on borrowing from others. Sliding off a glove Lillian took hold of Tara's upper arm for a moment to gain her powers. The familiar feeling of energy flowing into her hand and rush as a new ability took hold with in her. It was a good thing she had used other elemental abilities and Tara was currently thinking about how to use her own when they touched. That would allow Lillian and advantage in the fight.

Lillian had missed Leo's words from the comms as her mind had mind and body had be occupied with Tara's essence flowing through her. Then Tara suggested She along with Jinx and herself take the sentinel by the girls dorm. Lillian laughed at Tara's comment about being pissed that their perfectly good morning being ruined. “I am with you Landslide.” Lillian said absentmindedly kicking her shoes off leaving her barefoot like Tara. Instantly she felt a sense of strength wash through her as her connection to the earth increased. "Remind me when this is over Jinx so we can properly meet."

Following Landslide they headed toward the sentinel that had just busted through the wall of the academy clearly trying to snag a student who hadn't made it to the lower levels or join the other junior and senior xmen in combat.

Lillian slid easily into a kung-fu stance as two large chunks of rock and dirt came free from the ground. Copycat steadied her breathing as she felt out to more of her connection with the earth. The sentinel voice boomed about unregistered mutants and the typical surrender or be destroyed. Even robots were stuck being cliche villains.

Lillian stomped her foot as Landslide struck the machine with the boulders she had gotten earlier knocking the bot off kilter. The resulting influence from the geokenetic abilities causing the ground to shake and crack some by the robot hoping to trip it up as it tried to keep it's balance from Tara's blows. Maybe with Jinx's help with what ever her power maybe will keep things from getting to bad for their group with this heavily weapon filled robot.

Isabella felt badly, that she’d likely worried those in the lounge…But there was very little time to apologize for her tense reaction. This would be her first live fight since the Mall Incident…The sound of rapid shot gunfire not far away sent chills down her spine that left her feeling raw and broken. She did not like being shot at.

Heck, she didn’t like actually being shot.

The songstress well understood why the Professors wanted them to stay inside, out of sight…The Sentinels from Genosha were capable of information gathering. The more they lingered around the robots, the more face time they have them, the more they dropped their actual names…The easier it would be for the Sentinels to track them the next time.

And as X-Men...They had to assume there WOULD be a next time.

But Isabella couldn’t leave a few of her team members fighting alone just to save her own skin. Wouldn’t leave the Senior X-Men that she cared for, like family, to the product of some unnamed organizations hatred of their kind.

She felt Blake beside her, more than saw him. She knew the sound of his breathing and basic bio-rhythms. She knew all of her friends…All of the Alpha’s, and most of the school. Each one was specific…As if combined with her echolocation, they were somehow painting a picture for her in her mind’s eye. Her hand came to rest on his arm for a moment while she tried to get rid of the sudden cotton mouth the robots outside had left her with. Her heart broke for him, that he remembered…She wished he didn’t.

Blake responded to Thomas, confirming his muted question. Isabella didn’t feel the need to reiterate it, more concerned with shaking off the sudden numbness in her limbs. It felt like stage fright, only worse. Her chest prickled… For someone with super human lungs it shouldn’t be this hard to breathe. It was the sound of Blake speaking that pulled her out of her head, placing her firmly back in the situation. Her expression remained blank as she responded, some of the battle hardened Siren replacing the frightened college student. “I know. And I don’t intend to.”

Scott was going to kill her, she was sure of it.

But he could only kill her, if he was alive later to do so.

Emy. Jinx.”, Isabella repeated with a nod of her head, mentally committing the names to memory. Something about her seemed familiar, but the songstress couldn’t take her eyes from the Sentinels long enough to figure it out. A quick glance towards the dark haired Omega, coupled with the confession that being in trouble with Emma would happen on its own told her all she needed to know. “Glad to have you on board.”

She frowned when Thomas suggested that they use him as a shield, unable to find the humor in something that could soon be very real. Pointed jade eyes flickered between Thomas and Emy, voice a touch sharper than it might have normally been. “Don’t even think about it. No one is being used as a shield.”

Why didn’t people with healing abilities understand that? Logan? Gideon? Thomas? They shouldn’t have to feel that pain. Whether they could heal it or not, made little difference…It would still hurt them. Still paint the area of engagement red. It wasn’t right.

The message that Scott sent over the comm system would have normally made her wince… But for the moment, she just didn’t have the time for apologies.

Though it was small, it comforted her that the Alpha’s seemed to rally up despite the Headmistress telling them to stand down. That Blake and Jinx remained willing, despite the fact that it wasn’t her place to boss them around. It gave her more than just hope, that they could turn the metal monsters away and send them running. Hearing Leonardo’s request, responded quickly. “On it. Expect back up soon.”

She had seen Katarina run by, almost directly doing a curve away from their group—Towards the front. Bella could only hope that the girl intended to help in some way…But to be honest, she didn’t trust the HYDRA agent in the slightest. She would need to send others for her own piece of mind.

Her silence was…Necessary. Her hearing was incredibly selective, for the most part…But she could use it to find out where everyone was fighting. Once she knew that, she could direct the influx of Alpha’s accordingly. Forgoing her comm, she simply spoke aloud—Knowing that her words would carry. ~Landslide, Copycat, Jinx—Head towards the front and meet up with the other Alpha’s there when you finish near the dorms.~

~Allegra…Unless you’re otherwise engaged, the Alpha’s could really use your ability in the front of the mansion.~

She tensed as she heard the none too subtle sounds of thrusters shitting down, metal panels closing, followed by heavy thuds. It heralded the arrival of more of them.

“That we are.”, Isabella responded evenly to Dimitri, also listening to Eli at the same time. Part of leading the Alpha’s was being able to multi-task and handle a million questions all at once. She was glad that Leo took the time to brief the others what he knew…It saved her from explaining. “No need to overload Railgun…Not yet.”

“But I’m sure that between all of us, we can get you an opening.”

“We take down the Sentinels here—And then we all work toward the front.”, she stated quickly, noting with distaste that no less than three were coming from the trees, arms outstretched towards the group. “Don’t clump together, you’ll make easier targets.”

Raising her hand, she drew sound waves tight about her fist. They were mostly invisible, except for a small ripple in the air due to the way that she gathered them unnaturally. They didn’t look like much of anything…Though it would be a mistake to underestimate her. She hoped that the machines couldn’t detect sonic disturbances, or didn’t have much in the way of protection against sonic pressure. Pushing her palm forward, a sonic blast ripped from her, forcing the closest Sentinel backward as a metal plate ripped off its chest.

It gave her a glimpse of the missiles they housed.

Transmigration—Stay in the back, and keep an eye out. Make sure we aren’t surprised from behind. Sleet…If you can try and freeze them, or their feet to the ground—That would help. I know your resources are limited, do the best you can. Playboy…Get some distance so you can use your ability safely. Once you can, open fire on them. “

There were other Alpha’s on base, but none were in her vicinity. She would rather they be safe with the group they were with, than to pull them to her position. She figured that if they could have come when she’d called…They would have.

Amarillo…Do what you do best.”, Isabella spoke to Blake, instinctively thinking about his ability to ‘Get sticky with it’. It would help if the Sentinels were stationary.

Since she’d been the first to attack, the Sentinels seemed to deem her the first threat that required elimination. There was no warning, no request to submit. Their palms lit up, and the songstress’s eyes widened. “Scatter! Everyone move!”

She darted away from the group, throwing several more sonic attacks at the machines, causing them to turn towards her as they aimed—Away from the others. Her speed was something else as her form blinked in and out. Though she nearly tripped when the Sentinels started shooting lasers at her…Being quick, and having excellent reflexes were two different things.

Of ALL days to wear a pair of heels.

The scent of sulphur and brimstone filled her nose as she suddenly found herself standing behind the Sentinels instead of in front of them. Confused, she noticed a white gloved hand on her shoulder, and a blue demonic tale moving in the air.

“You need to be more careful, Fräulein. You must remain ever vigilant. You will tire. They will not. There was a reason Cyclops requested the student teams remain inside the mansion.”

Bella nodded her head, feeling properly dressed down…There was a puff of smoke, and Nightcrawler was gone. She knew that he didn’t mean any harm…But he was right. She did need to be more careful. ~They have some kind of missile or rocket in their chest plate—If you see it open, you need to run. If you take one down…Get away from them in a hurry.~

Now she needed to work on getting that hole Eli had requested.

                                                  User Image

"And now when all is done there is nothing to say... You have gone and so effortlessly...You have won. You can go ahead tell them--Tell them all I know now. Shout it from the roof tops. Write it on the sky line--All we had is gone now... Tell them I was happy. And my heart is broken. All my scars are open... Tell them what I hoped would be impossible..."

[OOC: If I skipped anyone, please let me know. Also-- We are aware Nightcrawler is dead in in *SOME* current Marvel story lines. However, we are playing from a period before he died... AND we refuse to acknowledge that he's dead. Because we love him.]

"Are you lost in your lies?
Do you tell yourself, 'I don't realize.'
Your crusade's a disguise.
Replaced freedom with fear,
You trade money for lives.
I'm aware of what you've done."

Felix continued staring in intrigue as the blond declared that she didn't have a death wish. That an Alpha thought Cissa wasn't the b***h everyone thought her to be amused the speedster. She must not have seen Cissa at prom. While Felix was certain Cissa was that type of b***h to Alphas it was part of what endeared the leader to him. It probably helped that he was considered an a*****e by a good majority of people on occasion. "Your funeral." The smirk that followed seemed to take more enjoyment than he should have at the concept. Again this could have just been a feigned thought. He did have a reputation to uphold. A chuckle left his lips as the blond mumbled about him not even starting. He barely caught the words, but he was sure he knew what she was saying. "Can't blame a guy for trying can you?"

A nod and shrug was given at the mention of only a select few actually studying on prom night. "Thing is Cissa isn't always... understanding when it comes to blue and black with her red and black. She doesn't tend to be forgiving either. Who's to say you aren't the exception to that rule though?" He might have been trying to make the girl worry even more. Felix felt it was his duty though. He had just caught the blond in a potentially compromising situation. Oh the things he could do to her reputation at this school with just a few whispered words. The blond pursed her lips about her dating Dom and while she didn't disagree that Cissa would be happy, she did mention she wasn't dating Dom. He waited for the yet to come up, but it seemed to remain unspoken. "Do I detect the subtle hint of a yet to that statement?"

A look of mock shock and pain crossed his face as Aurelie mentioned he would stir up trouble as his reputation proceeded him. "Ouch I am wounded. Does everyone think so little of me?" With the question posed in a near perfect deadpan tone and the offer of breakfast on the table, Felix was quickly beside the blond normal indifferent gaze planted on his face. He was having too much fun and amusement from this situation. At his inquiry about how long she took to dress the blond finally looked at him without irritation. Amusement laced his eyes as he stared back at her though his face remained in indifference. "I am sorry I missed that then." Whether he was talking about her getting dressed or seeing her at prom was open to interpretation.

"I must say though you pull off the near perfect look rather well." Felix mentioned the statement in an offhand tone. It was impressive that the blond hadn't taken very long to get ready on prom. As they arrived at her dorm Felix remained outside and gazed out across the grounds. As the Sentinels arrived and Aurelie left the room she seemed to disagree with it being Forge's doing. "You might be on to something there." The blond seemed hesitant to go along with his plan. Glancing outside a second time with Aurelie he could see the group of students outside, but didn't look long enough to see who was in said group. Not that it likely would have affected his plan.

It wasn't long after that Aurelie suddenly lifted herself to his back and mentioned Frost. A chuckle finding it's way to his throat at the thought of how the telepath had discovered his plan. Clearly she had crept into his mind. He had to wonder briefly if she found something she liked within. "Oh you have to ignore Frost she always says such silly things. Like how she prefers the company of Summers over mine. Absurd notion that. Summers is a stick in the mud whereas I am awesome. Trust me she is completely for my plan." A nod was given as she mentioned not splitting her. Looking back towards her he listened as she whispered in his ear the words drawing a smirk from him. "It seems you are already enjoying my company more than you have let on. Besides I'm sure you will find plenty of reasons to scratch me if that is the case. Riding with me is always enjoyable." The insinuation was there.

As legs wrapped around him, Felix gripped them just behind the knee to avoid accidentally dropping her if she lost her grip. With a wink he whispered back to her again. "Hold on tight." Setting off at a decent pace at first it was nowhere near his fastest speed, but he was trying to give her time to prepare herself. As they neared the exit to the school both leaders had sent out messages. "Seems like we have our orders." Now the question was would he follow them. The moment his feet touched the grass outside he sent one more grin over his shoulders before suddenly they entered into true superspeed and blazed right passed the group that Leo was commanding. Seeing more sentinels arriving he did one full run around the school to both give Aurelie time to get used to it, as well as give her time to use her powers on passing sentinels.

Then with Bella's request for Aurelie to go to the front, he ran up to the leader and stopped. "You rang?" Eyebrow slightly raised he glanced up at the robot in front of them waiting for Aurelie to deal with it. Eyes took a sweeping glance around to make sure they weren't being targeted. Sure enough a Sentinel took one glance at them and spouted off something or another about standing down. "I think I am good, but I appreciate the offer." Eyebrow raised at the sentinel he tilted his head to the side inquisitively before seeing it's hand light up. Running quickly to the other the right he waited till it was almost targeted on them again before moving back to his previous location. "Doesn't seem too bright if you ask me." With a shrug he ran straight forward between it's legs getting behind it. Was it bad he was actually enjoying himself? "If you want to hop off just let me know."

(OOC: Pm me if I missed something.)

Prom had not been a total disaster really. Bianca had made it inside and even danced maybe once before her date had gotten sick. Some kind of stomach thing. Driving back to the academy for him so that the car wasn't left behind the umbrakinetic even helped him to the infirmary before she went back to her room for the night and simply hung out. Needless to say her night had not been as fun as she could have hoped, but that was the risk you ran when going to prom right? At least that was the brunette's views on it. The following morning was spent in isolation. She was on the grounds in a tree leaning her head back and looking at the skies.

Eyes closed long enough that the girl thought she dosed off when suddenly an explosion woke her up and startled her enough to cause her to fall off the branch she was one. Landing the ground she held her chest for a moment as her heart beat quickly and mentally thanked herself for finding a rather low branch on the tree. Getting up and looking in the distance the sight of large robots descending on the grounds was enough to send the brunette running back inside and to the library for safety. Her choice seemed to be the right one as she was told to remain inside by the headmistress. Fear gripped her chest tightly and even as Bella asked for all available Alphas to go help the brunette found her legs unwilling to move. She was not cut out for this.

"I feel like such a coward." Whispering to herself it was only after Leo briefed everyone on the robots that she found herself able to move. She really needed to help everyone didn't she? What use she could be was unknown to her, but she was willing to try. Feet carried her slowly to the front of the institute where she poked her head out long enough to see the robots and everyone fighting them. Darting back inside she took one deep breath before stepping out entirely and swallowing a lump in her throat. "Uh where do you need me Siren?" The question was posed and Bianca tried to make herself as unnoticeable as possible to avoid being crushed or shot by the robots.

The Sentinel that was in front of Bella facing away from her though took notice of the new arrival and seeing as everyone seemed hostile instantly attacked. Shooting a laser towards her the brunette cringed and brought her hands up to protect herself. When she felt no pain she looked up to see Cannonball standing in front of her having absorbed the energy into his field. He exchanged no words with the brunette as he suddenly propelled himself forward straight through the Sentinel's chest cavity. "Thanks..." She really needed to pull it together and do something useful. Seeing that the Sentinel was stumbling backwards the umbrakinetic released a medium sized beam of darkness that collided with it's head and sent it falling back. That probably wasn't a good idea with Bella behind it was it. "Look out! Sorry...?"

(So short, but long overdue.)

Gabriel Byrne
Location: Range
Thoughts: Me against a robot? This should be fun

User ImageThe robot in front of him launched an attack at Michael as he created two copies of himself that ran off in different directions. He asked him to hold him off till he got back, and he prepared to do so. His cannon arm was leveled at the robot as it now brought its full attention to the blonde gunsmith. He took his rifle with his left hand and slowly brought it up. The machine's eyes scanned him, now likely calculating the odds for this encounter. In the bot's computerized brain, pretty high.

Gabriel was gonna show him just how off his numbers were.

First thing Gabriel did was level the rifle into his shoulder. He never fired his rifle with one arm, so he didn't expect anything good to come of it. Firing a controlled burst in the general area where the optical sensors were located on the head he immediately prepared to close the distance. By his count, it was about 20 meters to get near the feet of the behemoth. If he sprinted, he could potentially make it unscathed. Dropping the rifle, he shifted his other arm into a cannon and immediately went into a dead sprint. It's arm stretched out towards him, launching out a net from it's wrist. Realizing what might happen he did exactly what he did last night: he rolled. Very quickly he got back up and continued to sprint. An energy blast from behind him as the Sentinel fired a shot rocketed him forward at a greater velocity, getting him under the mechanical beast's legs. A ruby red burst of energy hit the Sentinel in the shoulder, causing it to stumble a bit. This was the moment that he needed, get it while it was off it's normal footing.

Looking up at the face of the robot, he muttered the simple phrase, and fired two slugs of tungsten carbide, each with the force of a Howitzer cannon, right into its main chest cavity. The explosion was pretty impressive as a column of fire erupted from the inner workings of the machine as one round tore its way through to the shoulder joint of the right arm.The second slug found purchase in a fortunate area, as it flew out of the mouth of the robotic humanoid. The machine began to topple over onto it's back, crashing with a loud thud, and the snapping of trees. If he had some C-4 he'd blow the ******** head into pieces, but they could use this tech. He immediately felt winded, dropping to a knee as his blood sugar dropped drastically in a matter of seconds. He never did that before, firing two shots at once. He'd expected it to take a lot out of him, but not this much. He had four more shots before he was completely out of it. Hopefully they had someone that could magically revitalize people, because if he kept this up he'd be out cold after taking down only three Sentinels.

Perhaps he was a little too zealous, firing two armor-piercing rounds into the robot. But hey it got the job done right?

Rising up, he sluggishly ran back to his container. Opening it up, he opened up a segment that he hadn't opened just yet. Inside there was his emergency kit. Pulling out two cans of Monster Energy and a box of high calorie bars he began to start recharging. Pulling the tabs he drank the two cans down in seconds, and ravaged the bars. He could feel the heat from Narcissa, the blonde girl from the dance last night as she let out bursts of what appeared to be energy, floating in the air. If he had the ability to, he'd be more than happy to metabolize some of that sweet energy for himself.

"Sentinel down," he called out in between bites, "How should we proceed? Got a little bit of balance issues at the moment." he asked. He was prepared to do what he could, but first he needed to get back to at least being able to take a few steps without getting dizzy enough to fall on his a**. The Monster kicked in quick, and he felt his bearings get back into the swing of things. He grabbed his rifle and reloaded it quickly. Pulling the slide back, he raised the weapon up and was able to keep it steady for a few moments. He'd need a few more seconds, but they didn't have that luxury, not right now.

He fought through it, and his grey eyes prepared to fight some more.
