Akira's ears twitched and she laughed softly, nodding, with a bigger smile on her face.

"Uh huh...Though i bet you'd be real happy if you could feed that Venus fly trap!" she replied, thinking of early that day. God, that felt like years ago!!

"Soo...Is the "jerk" a good kisser?" she asked suddenly, but timidly, the question nagging her brain to be asked.

She wanted to know why her best friend went through the trouble of telling her to stay away from him and not even mention his name, if she actually made out with the guy. Wasn't he suppose to be dangerous??? Granted, the girl didn't know how far they had gotten...But still, did Evermore think that she would of jumped on him, given the chance??

Ever had laughed along with Akira at the joke she made. Ah yes, the Venus Fly Traps. That would have been good times. The professor really needed to consider letting Ever help her with those. Ever would actually like to do it, so why not let her?

Oh yeah... there was that whole 'learning about the fly traps while feeding them so that she could sabotage people' thing... Ah well.

But then when Akira breached the subject of Ares, and so early on in the conversation, Ever grew uncomfortable once more and paused in her brushing of the cat.

Ever finally sighed and looked down at the brush in her hands, which was now in her lap.

"Akira... I didn't plan for any of that to happen earlier. You know how much I despise Ares. Still do."

Just thinking about that locket/tracking device he put on her was enough to make the Fury's blood boil again, but she focused on fixing her friendship right now, so her anger didn't run away from her this time.

"It was just... one of those things. Completely impromptu and stupid of me..."

Ever couldn't help but smirk slightly as she remembered the many slow and sensual and fast and passionate kisses she shared with the God of War.

"But yes... he's a very good kisser. An excellent one, actually. He's had millenia to work on it, and I think it's in his genes to be a good kisser. And, despite how wrong it can be, war is always filled with passion. There's gotta be something there."

Her cheeks were starting to heat up slightly.

Ever's eyes were huge and she felt as if her head was spinning from all the information Akira threw at her at once. Usually she could defend herself against her friend's sudden word explosion, but as was proven many times earlier today, she wasn't exactly on top of her game right now.

Ever then looked over at her friend when she poked her cheek and laughed herself. She rubbed at her cheek slightly and then slightly shook her head as she went back to brushing out the cat. She was actually almost done.

"Well, as for the instinctual thing, yeah, we might be Gods, but we're not animals! We have brains like everyone else and choose who we do or don't become intimate with.... I think? I'm not quite sure on the specifics, but I still have my own mind and won't just go and make out with any and every God I come across."

She giggled at herself. "And yes, he has existed for millenia, but human body-wise, I think he's only about 33-35. Not that old, and women mature faster than men. So it balances out."

Ever suddenly let out a huge breath of frustration at herself and continued. "But it doesn't matter, anyway, because it was a silly one-time thing! So really, we're talking about nothing."

She stood up from brushing the cat, having finished, and her arm brushed against the locket that was hidden in her waistband. She opened her mouth slightly to tell her friend about it but then decided against it. Another thing she was choosing to keep from her best friend, but she didn't need Akira worrying about something else. She had enough to worry about, and she was going to show that she could take care of Ares herself.

"So, you finished with brushing? We have to do this tomorrow, anyway, so it's not like we have to get it perfect tonight. We need rest for tomorrow."

Ever smiled at her best friend and then hugged her. "Yeah, I know. Thank you, Akira. You're an awesome best friend."

She pulled back, smiled at her friend again, and then went into the headmistress's office. She curtsied and kept her hands folded in front of her, one of the hands holding onto the brush, and her head bowed to the floor in respect and modesty.

"Headmistress, we are finished with brushing out your pets. Is there anything else you wish of us?"

Evermore nodded and curtsied once more. "Yes Ma'am. Thank you. I will see you tomorrow."

Then, Ever turned and left the office. She knew that it was close to lights out, so she bid Akira good night and went to her own dormitory. She did not have a roommate. You could chose to either have a smaller room and no roommate or a suite with one roommate. When Ever's mothers signed her up for Bai Ching, they required that she had the smaller room so that she wouldn't have a roommate. They wanted no one prying.

Once in her room on the third floor, Ever flopped on her bed on her back and sighed heavily. Finally, the day was over. She simply had to shower and go to bed. Actually... a good long soak in the tub sounded better. So that was what she did.

Each girl had their own bathroom. Bai Ching was a private school. It could afford single bathrooms. So, Ever's things were already in her bathroom. She quickly undressed, ignored the clinking sound of the locket hitting the bathroom floor, filled the tub with warm water and bubbles, pinned her hair up, and then sank into the water with a soft sigh.

After a few minutes, Ever let her eyes drift over to the bathroom floor, right where the locket rested. She reached over, picked it up by the chain, and then leaned back in the tub as she hung the locket on her index finger out in front of her. She looked at it, considered it from every angle. However, she would not open it. If it really was a tracking device, it would tell Ares right where she was, in the bathtub!

It was a beautiful locket. She could tell that it was pure silver, and there were very small diamonds on the front of the locket. It shimmered beautifully in the bathroom's light. Should she have expected anything but the best from the God of War?

But one thing was still baffling her. Why would he be so obvious about tracking her? Why would he plant a locket on her that she was sure to find instead of simply putting a tracking spell on her or something? Of course, she shouldn't even try to understand Ares' way of thinking.
