Lin certainly felt dusty, she probably could taste a bit of it too. Waiting for her turn she paused thinking about it. She didn't know Lord Elwin all that well, only that he seemed to have a bit of a curious mind as well.
"He was helping train Amora in the sword this morning," Lin explained, "Though it was more helping."
Since it was obvious Amora knew the sword just had to get over the fear that she hadn't been aware about before.

Rayna turned her curious eyes to Amora, and Amora blushed. "Father insisted that I train with the sword this morning," she said softly. "Lord Elwin helped me ... unlock my memory, I suppose you could say ... muscle memory, at least. I cannot remember ever using the sword like that, but ..."
She turned away and dried her hands on the towel, moving aside to give Lin room to wash.
Rayna pursed her lips in a manner quite like her sister would do. "I'm not sure what you mean."

Lin moved to wash her hands in the basin, she didn't realize how dusty she was until she washed off the dust.
"Muscle memory is the memory of our bodies, if we do certain actions enough we can do it without thinking, that's because our bodies remember it even if we ourselves don't."
She glanced up at Rayna and for a moment she thought she saw Shael. Even though the height difference made it easy to tell the twin sisters apart.
"So even though Amora can't remember using a sword in a particular way her body does remember. It was interesting."
Then again this had been the first time she had ever see a real example of what it meant to have muscle memory.

"Oh?" Rayna's eyes sparkled with amusement. "And was she good?"
Amora chose to disclude herself from the conversation, her cheeks flushing a bright shade of pink. Sir Gilead chuckled softly.

"She was excellent," Lin grinned.
Honestly she had not been expecting anything that had occurred that morning, but it had been amazing to watch. Drying off her hands Lin added as an after thought.
"Watching them was neat, they were going so quickly."

Rayna laughed at the expression on the princess's face - she was obviously quite flustered, and rather cute. It made her look her age, instead of the mature age she acted.
"I'm sure it must have been a sight to see," she smiled warmly as Sir Gilead took his turn to wash his hands. "Perhaps someday I'll come for a demonstration."
"Please don't," Amora mumbled, her eyes on the table before her. But a trace of a smile was playing about the corners of her lips, showing that it was indeed more a simple embarrassment than not really wanting Rayna to visit.

It was only when Rayna laughed did Lin notice how embarrassed Amora looked. She looked a bit confused as to why Amora seemed so flustered. She took a seat beside Amora and chuckled.
"Are you embarrassed?" Lin inquired.
She watched Amora with interest, she hadn't see Amora like this yet.

"It wasn't anything big," Amora muttered, her face growing darker. "No need to make such a big deal out of it."
Rayna giggled. "Come, make yourselves comfortable, and I'll have our meal brought in in just a moment." She motioned towards the table.

Lin smiled a bit as she took Rayna's advice. There was nothing small about being able to fight that well that young (granted she was a Second so this should be normal).
The meal she looked forward to, and just spending time with everything.

The rest of the week passed quickly, and when it came time for Lin to go, Amora was the most disappointed. It was she who walked her new friend down to the portal, as her father had duties to carry out and her mother had to take care of the youngest child, and Pengolodh had lessons.
"You know," the princess smiled warmly at Lin as she led them down towards the hidden corridor, "I'm going to miss you. I had a lot of fun with you this week."

"So did I," Lin replied softly as she felt her pets crawl over her for better shade.
The desert had most certainly not agreed with them at all, and they had cat napped most of the stay here.
"Maybe I'll visit again," she paused, "Though... I already have a lot of traveling planned ahead... but maybe some other time. It'll probably be a long while."
Between her trips and the time difference a very long time.

Amora smiled, watching the foxy butterflies as they crawled all over Lin. "I hope you can come again," she said softly. "I understand the difference in time, and I know that I will be much older, no matter how soon it is for you ... but still, I look forward to it."
Her smile grew a bit wider. "And who knows? Perhaps by then I will have something greater to offer you than tagging along to lessons."

The thought made Lin grin, that sounded like fun she thought as the hidden hallway that held the portal was coming up ahead.
"And maybe I'll see about bringing some other family members along, I'm sure Shiro, Kaito and Ura would like to visit."
Only because the trio were inseparable.

A bright smile lit Amora's face, even in the darkness, and she clapped her hands together. "That would be wonderful!" she said brightly. "I look forward to meeting everyone who comes. You're all family, after all!"
She held aloft a lantern as they started down the dark tunnel.

They were in a way family weren't they? Even though it was such an odd sort of family they had. Maybe she would try to see if Miyu would come, she needed to get out more and she liked Lothiriel very much.
"I do too," Lin admitted, "It's nice to keep contact with everyone."
Lin couldn't see the portal up ahead but knew it was there, it was in an easy place to remember. She still couldn't sense other magicks to save her life, she had much to her regret too desensitized to magic having spent nearly half of her life here.
"Ah... there it is, this really is a perfect place for a portal, but so much more planning was put into this one."
