"that's very sad you know... not you... but everyone else... not knowing it at all so that you don't know some of it cause... because you never get to practice..." He looked at his paw and spelled out green... g...r...e...e...n... then he turned to Banda again... "What's your favorite colour?"

Banda shrugs slightly, the motions of Jen's paw pulling his attention away from his face for a moment. Green. "Well, most people don't have a reason for it...so why learn if it won't do ya any good? I've never met anyone else who couldn' hear." Again he shrugs, looking up in time to catch Jen's question. "Umm... I don't have a favorite, I think. I like...most colors. I paint! Do you?"

No not. really... I tired it once... But I can't draw very well... let alone paint... I make puppets though.... and I play this pipe... not very well so it's probably best that you can't hear me... my mom is always throwing me out of the house to play it... and Isto told me to knock it off yesterday..." Jen looked a little pained "and besides that Wendy Monkey is deaf too... and she wrote a book on it... so there's bound to be a lot of people out there who are deaf too... and I think everyone should learn it... or not... and then it's like a secret language... that would be neat... a secret language..." jen signed out 'Banda's secret language'... and he girnned...

"I paint sounds," Banda commented quietly. Clearing his throat, he cocks his head to the side, shrugging. "I don' think Isto meant to hurt ya feelings... He was really, really tired yesterday. Acia doesn' leave him alone, so he doesn' get much sleep at home." He grins faintly at the idea of a secret language, nodding cheerfully. "Well, mebbe we shouldn' let anyone learn it! It'll be our secret language! 'Cept, Isto knows a bit... an' I think some other people do too, but I'm not sure."

Jen turned and looked at Banda... man he was good at reading facial expressions... Jen hadn't mean to let anything pass over his face... "Isto didn't hurt my feelings... I know the piping's no good...." He studied Banda for a second... " I don't think that I have ever even thought about looking at a sound... let alone seen one... will you show me what a sound looks like sometime... cause I figure you'd know better than anyone else... and as for the secret language thing... it's ok that Isto knows... but My Aunt Em knows too.... but we could force her to be the cookie making member of the club... and Idon't think that many others know it... and even if they did... we could make up a new one when they do!"

Banda had learned to read faces nearly perfectly... These things came in quite handy for knowing the intentions behind a person's comments. "I wouldn' know. I can't hear it." He didn't seem upset. Merely resigned. "I don' see how it could sound bad." Banda smiled hesitantly, looking away. "I can't remember much of 'em... It's been a long time since I've heard anything. But, dunno.... I want to hear some how.. So if I can't hear sound, why not see it? Sure, I guess... If you want to see." He seemed somewhat embaressed by the topic, and eagerly switched subjects. "Yah, Em! I like cookies. We'll jus' be careful, an' no one'll learn our secret language."

((2am is the only time I have to myself... smile plus my comp goes to work with my flatmate... since it's a laptop and all and she broke hers...))
Jen grinned again... "we'll be super careful...." He turned and looked out the window and could barely see Isto... "We have to let Isto in though... so it's you and me and Isto and Aunt Em the cookie maker!!... we can call it.... um.... silent partners... or.... um.... sound deviod.... or maybe umm.... I can't reallly think of anythin good.... maybe it shoudn't even be a real name... just something that we made up a sign for... and we could make up signs for our names.... hey... how do you sign your name without spelling it? .... I been spelling it this whole time... "

"Well wendy said in her book that it's common practice amoung Skull Monkeys who can't hear to make up a sign for their name... you don't have to.... but hers went like this..." Jen made the sign for W and then the sign for writing mixed with the sign for reading... "If I did it... I think I'd out in something about being strong... I work out all the time you know.." Jen nodded his head...

"Probably"... then he figured that Banda wouldn't mind correction... so Jen turned and looked right at him and smiled... "Pro-BB-ably... Prolly be is very close though... enough that I knew what you meant... " He face fell... "It didn't scare you when he changed? All of a sudden someone I was talking to just up and turns into a human wihtout asking anybody...that would scare me."
