Fayn picked at her uninterestedly at her food. "It's okay,I supp-whoa!"
She felt herself being dragged along by Bridget. That girl was stronger than she looked..
In about no time at all, they reached the Arena tower, the shadow enveloping them both.
The guardian shook head,sighing.
"Bridget? You sure about sparring? I mean..it's good practice but..ah,nevermind..let's just go in."
Fayn stepped forward, pushing open the door into the tower.

"Don't worry about me. I know how to take care of myself," she said confidently. Bridget had been visiting the Calvert Corp since she was 5. Her Uncle made sure she knew how to fight.

Her favorite weapons were whips and chains. She was always drawn to them. She knew how to use a sword and shield, and had briefly studied the spear, but she loved her chains.

"Shall we fight with whatever weapon we feel comfortable with?" she asked, not really caring abou tthe girl's answer. Bridget walked over to the collection of practice weapons on the wall, and started to grab some thick chains.

Fayn nodded in acknowledgement. "If you're sure about this...then let's begin. I'll fight with my personal sword...or shortsword."
The guardian mumbled the last two words, drawing her shortsword and examining its length.
Definitely short enough to be considered a shortsword.
Fayn stepped into a fencing position, her handguard that doubled as a shield kept back at her side and her sword kept infront to parry and strike.
She eyed Bridget's weapon of choice : chains. Those looked heavy enough to knock someone unconscious, that was for sure..

Emma shrugged her shoulders, "The plan could work, but only if all of the villagers are sure. We can attempt to protect the herd as well as focus on attacking the fiend, but we can't make any promises." Emma said. There were a few other things too, but she figured they'd take care of them as they met them. Things like if the fiend didn't show and they had to stay in the village. "Any suggestions?" Emma directed the question to anyone listening.

The fiend attempted to jump at the last moment to evade Tyrone's blade. It was mostly succseful, except that the beast lost a portion of it's left foot. It yelled as it hit the ground, but ignored it otherwise. It was in the midst of turning around when Enyo's attack struck. The beast's speed and reflexes were feral, and therefore good enough to attempt to grab the tendrils that Enyo employed to attack. It's day was truly ruined, Train was standing holding his hand out much like he did when he was suppressing Malkin. The fiend's movements became awkward and slow. Since it had no where near the quantity of aura that Malkin had been releasing, Train was not having difficulties. The fiend screamed again as the Ryus impacted. While the 'teeth' penetrated, they weren't quite long enough to cause immediately fatal damage. Also, the fiend had tucked it's chin in, covering the more fleshy area and exposing the tougher muscle. What little armor the fiend had wore around it's shoulders was shattered.

"Tyrone, finish it before it figures out how to move!" People and animals that were raised in the 'wild' normally were able to manipulate their aura to some extent, such as to lessen it or increase it. Some emotions had an affect on this as well. It would not take long for the fiend to break free for a moment.

Isaac had leapt forward and sprinted towards William's back. The insect clicking deviously as he did so. Leaping over William and swinging his halberd, he was distracted by the scream of Aretha. Because of this, his halberd was of it's mark a little, glancing off of the exoskeleton of the fiend, though still causing a very shallow scratch, not deep enough to draw blood. Isaac had been using the thicker, heavier spike on the back of his halberd, otherwise he would end up just shattering the blade.

"What the hell!? How am I suppose to help her? I can't change directions in mid-air!" Isaac thought, hooking the edge of his halberd on the arm of the fiend and using it to swing out of the way. This unfortunately put the fiend between him and Aretha. "Damn it!"

((Mmmm, playtime. Yes, I like to make things difficult for my characters. I'm a sadist. Storm and Team 4, I haven't had to roleplay a fight in a long time. So let me know if I start getting boring.))

Bridget wrapped one around her left wrist, to act as a guard. She left the chain in her right hand free. Bridget reacted to Fayn stepping into her stance by unleasing the right chain on her. She aimmed for Fayn's head, hoping to drive her back into the Arena.

"Whoa!" Fayn sidestepped the chain, just missing it by a few centimeters. In fact, she could even feel the cold metal brushing pass her cheek.
"A nice workout would do me good.."
The guardian smiled wickedly, rapidly closing the distance between Bridget and herself with a lunge directed towards the teenage girl's leg.

((Ah, the robot devil.))

Bridget quickly sidestepped the sword, using her left hand to swipe the sword wide to the left. She step inside Fayn guard, and rised her right hand.

"I win," she stated simply. Bridget stepped back. "You've never fought someone with chains, have you. Don't lunge. Don't let me inside your guard. I have been trained since I was five. If I get inside your sword, you're dead. Again?" Bridget asked, getting in her stance.

"Ow,not bad." Fayn winced, drawing back her sword arm to rub her fingers. This girl was not an opponent to be underestimated..
Still..it's a little embarrassing to be taught by someone younger..hmf..
The guardian thought, doing some kind of mental sigh in her thoughts.
She sheathed her shortsword, relinquishing the speed and agility the blade offered for the heavier, and stronger scythe.
"Just a little change of weapon style..." Fayn smiled, stepping into a defensive stance.

((Sorry! Got distracted by another thread. sweatdrop ))

Bridget smiled at the girl. "Just don't scar my beautiful face," she said. She attacked first this time with the right chain, but Bridget also changed her style. She dropped her left chain off her wrist, using the momentum to swing the chain towards Fayn's blade.

Fayn switched her scythe to one hand, using her handguard to bat away the right chain but failing to take notice of the other chain until it wrapped around her scythe's blade.
The blade would hold..but it wasn't exactly useful being stuck there, wrapped in chains.
"Here goes nothing..geez." She shifted her feet firmly onto the ground, yanking the scythe backwards with all her strength.

Malkin listened to them quietly before sighing. Dropping the last bit of his cigarrette, he grounded it.
"Screw this. I'm going to get it angry. Ice boy, do what you can. Matt, fry the thing before it eats me." Tugging back his hood, he had his eyes closed. It felt nice to have the breeze running through his hair again, and his horns were stretching the fabric. Opening his golden eyes, he looked at the giant tortoise. He could see a pale blue aura around it. Glancing down at his two-handed sword, he noticed his own aura had wrapped around the blade, and formed another blade on the edge. Smiling, he let his aura feed off of him more, watching the blade get thicker and thicker. Stepping into the open, he began yelling at the fiend.
"Hey! Giant walking soup! Time to play." By the time it turned to face him, Malkin had his sword up in above him. Dropping it, he pushed his aura off the blade, watching as it detached from the sword and slapped the turtle.
"Crap. I was half hoping that would cut it." Laughing wryly, he tugged the sword out of the ground just dodging a large blast of water.
"Ice boy! Can you use the water it spits?" he managed to yell out, dodging more water blasts.

((I'm just letting you know for next time, as soon as a chain wraps around a limb or wepaon, I would pull backwards. That move is all about not allowing the oppenent to do what you just did. Just letting you know for next time.))

She swung her right chain at Fayn's head, but Fayn managed to distract her by breaking her hold over the scythe. Bridget managed to not lose her chain when Fayn pulled her scythe back. Brdiget lashed out with both chains, one high, one low.

Shortly after Malkin rushed out Sven let out a curse and followed him, but slower and more cautious keeping himself behind the other. When Malkin called out his question he immediately realised what he had in mind, and jumped back from a stray water blast originaly aimed at Malkin. He rushed forward to where the blast had landed and swooped up some with his hand to confirm that he could use it in case the fiend had some soret of influence on it, but it didn't and an ice dart formed in his hand.
"I can!" he yelled out back. "Try to collect it all in one place and lead it there if you can, I'll start making the seal meanwhile!" He started retreating back slightly so that the water blasts wouldn't reach him while he drew up the seal. Once he has reached what he figured was far enough he opened up a small belt pouch he had on his back and pulled out a folded paper and a small piece of coal and started getting to work.

The spot where Kiro's blades met the fiends armored body were suddenly indented with two shallow slash marks from the blades passing. The fiends arms on that side of it's body lashed down and out towards the nimble Hunter. The upper, offensive arm came down towards the body, taking the place of the previously defensive arm as it lashed across, aiming to smash into Kiro, instead of slicing, and throw him away from itself.
The distraction provided by Isaac was all William had needed. As the smaller man had made his attack the Fiend had swung its offensive arm on their side to intercept the flying Hunter. At the same time William had darted in closer to the fiend, parrying the quick outward lash of the second, defensive, arm. He rolled around the attack, coming in close to the insects body and lashed back outwards, swinging his longer heavier nodachi towards one of the inner joints of the passing arm. There was a wet sound of impact and the arm came off at the joint. The bladed lower appendage fell to the ground, and stuck point first.
It was only after making this maneuver that William noticed the second, smaller, insect fiend that was attacking his Guardian. From what little he knew of her he honestly didn't think she could defend herself from the insect like monster. He knew he was the only of their group in a position to help her, but it would take precious seconds that he only hoped she had, and it would leave Isaac to fight the larger fiend in his place. But he had to do it.

Matt darted out from the cover of the treeline, moving steadily out to one side of the fiend, leaving a good distance between himself and Malkin so that the fiend would be forced to direct its attention at one or the other. He summoned up the power of his flames, and they burst into life around his hands, as was usual for him.
Once out to one side he began to walk steadily towards the creature. Unfortunately for him, the fiend turned towards him instead of Malkin and fired a jet of pressurized water directly at him.
Matt knew that he couldn't dodge, the blast was too fast, so he instinctively held his arms up before him and mentally willed his flames to greater heat.
The water impacted against his upraised arms and knocked him a few skidding feet back. He had to wheel his feet into motion to maintain his balance but regained it again a moment later as the last of the jet washed over him.
He stood within a cloud of hot steam. All the water from the jet vaporized into a semi gaseous form in moments. The heat of the steam was intense. More than enough to sear the flesh off the bones of a normal man. Matt was not a normal man. The gem in his forehead gave him immunity to heat, not just fire. He narrowed his eyes in determination.
"Turtle soup, table of three. Coming right up." He murmured to himself.
He began to walk steadily forward again, vaporizing jets of water as they came at him, and keeping the large fiend entirely occupied with himself, a fact he hoped Malkin would not miss.

Tyrone continued with the momentum of his swing, allowing it to carry him in a complete circle. As he came back around he planted his feet and added to the centrifugal momentum with his own strength. He aimed for the first area of center mass with the least amount of armor that he saw. He was not one to think to seriously in situations of these sorts, which was fine as Train was there to do it for him. He was the one to swing a really big a** sword with a ridiculous amount of force. He was good at that.

"The plan seems adequate to me." Gene said. "I think we should begin immediately."
"Agreed. Follow us, please." Powel said.
Powel, Doreta, and Herman led the four HGC members back out to the street. The seven of them mounted up and the three ranchers led the way out of town and out into the open countryside.
Roughly an hour of riding had the group at a point where the three ranchers pastures converged in a sort of 'T' shape.
"The three of us'll collect our ranch hands and start moving our herds here right away. Think the four of you can destroy enough of this fence for us the converge the three herds here?" Doreta asked.
"We can manage." Gene said.

((Hope you guys don't mind if I skip the boring parts...))

Several hours later the HGC members had successfully deconstructed, or demolished in some cases, a sizable section of the fencing. They had been resting and milling about for a good while since and simply waiting for the ranchers to return with the bait. After waiting around for another good while they began to hear a rumbling sound. On one horizon the could suddenly see the forms of tens of dozens of large bovine animals all but stampeding in their direction.
Gene glanced behind him and saw that both of the other two ranchers were were herding their animals into the area also. The ranchers herded the now massive collective herd into Hermans pasture area, which was the one that bordered the former top of the 'T'.
Herman, Doreta, and Powel rode up to the young Hunters and Guardians.
"Well," Gene said. "That's an awful lot of bait..."

((My God! Writing out this post took FOREVER! you guys are keeping me freakin' busy with all this postin'. Good job, though, all. Keep it up. Don;t allow your threadmaster to slack off.))
