The mental image of Garrick trying to walk down the street of the city made Lore laugh. Mainly because Garrick like any other babe would be completely distracted by everything around him. It was amusing to say the least.

"The minute he sees all the people and all the doors and all the things that are to see in a city, he'll want to walk everywhere," Lore replied.

Lin had kind of hoping not to go into that, but it looks like for reasons that this was socially very unacceptable (in a way she understood in a way she wished it never happened) she was going to have to wait for Halaleel.

Though for some reason Lin found being apologized to embarrassing, she couldn't quite figure out why. Her thoughts though disappeared as she giggled at his suggestion.

"You're awful," she grinned at him, "It'll be fine and I'll deal. I'll go find Tinuviel then."

"He will," Elnara laughed. "Ah well, it will be fun."

She slung the bag over her shoulder, then pulled on one of the slings and held the other out to Lore. "I think we have everything," she worried, "but if not I guess it's not too big a deal. It's only one day."

She looked down at the twins, who were crawling around the floor. "WHo do you want to carry today?" she asked Lore with a smile.

Tinuviel had just finished bidding farewell to the lord who had ended up staying the night, and was on her way to the Dining Hall for some breakfast. She hadn't yet had a chance to plan her day, having been occupied the night before, but she was looking forward to being able to relax - at least relatively, since she did have things that she needed to do.

Once Lin assured Earendil and to an extent herself that everything would be fine, she headed to the dining hall at a sedated pace. Sedated because it wasn't like she was rushing anywhere nor was she stalking anyone anymore.

The problem with being a Second was, was that she could remember every moment of her childhood since it wasn't that long ago to her, and thinking about it made her wonder why her behaviour didn't cause her father to bash his head into a wall. She dismissed that thought absently, she didn't need to remember all the embarassing things she did as a child.

"I'll carry Garrick," Lore replied.

There were times he felt he was too attached to Hana, and felt bad for that. He loved Garrick too, but somehow he always ended up with Hana. Then again sometimes Garrick was a bit much even for him.

Elnara smiled knowingly and nodded, then headed off to find Hana (who was hiding under the cradle Garrick had slept in the night before). She also seemed to have a bit stronger attachment to Garrick, she wasn't sure why ... but she didn't want that. She wanted to spend equal time with both of her children. She did love them both the same, and she wanted to make sure they knew it, even being as young as they were.

Once she had Hana in the sling, she turned back to Lore again. "Almost ready?" she asked cheerfully.

Tinuviel was almost to the Dining Hall when she saw Lin approaching from the opposite direction. She smiled faintly, very different from her mannerisms of the day before, and lifted one hand for a light wave.

"Good morning, Lin," she called out warmly. "I'm afraid I have to apologize to you for yesterday ... I was not in the best of spirits, I'm afraid. Which is no excuse, I know ..."

It was amazing what getting rid of a deadweight would do, at least Lin assumed from what Earendil had told her that the man in question was a deadweight, however as she was learning from the past day or so that Earendil was horribly bias.

"It's fine, Earendil explained to me... well he doesn't know, but the topic of marriage was brought up when we were in town," she shrugged, it was okay and she smiled back, "He's been teased that he doesn't go into town enough."

Lore grabbed Garrick as he was walking along the bed, with the bed for support of course. It took a bit more effort to get Garrick into his sling, after all he was an active child, but he did manage it.

"Ready," he finally replied a long while after Elnara asked.

Elnara had to bite her tongue to keep from laughing as Lore struggled with Garrick. It was just so cute to watch ... and nice that it wasn't her for once. Garrick really wasn't any easier on her than he was on Lore.

"Then off we go," she said brightly, reaching for Lore's hand. "Nako knows not to expect us until dinner, so no worries on that score."

Tinuviel giggled softly. "I am often told the same," she assured Lin, "and I go in much more often than he. But like him, I do not go to look for a future spouse ... I only wish that our parents could understand that."

She sighed and shook her head, motioning for Lin to join her in the Dining Hall. "I know I must marry ... but I do not wish to be forced into it, for that can never end well. Marriage must be for love, and love cannot be chosen or created. It must be found."

Lin followed, she noddeed at Tinuviel's accessment, it would be like an arranged marriage in way if she had been forced into it. Which was why clans had parties... it was supposed to create unity and just show off but no one would admit it was really to set children up.

She was so grateful she didn't have to go to one.

"Which is why..." Lin suggested softly, "You should travel, it's not going to be enough to see just the city. I mean... everyone else who has married in the last..."

She had to think about that, darn time difference.

"Twenty odd years or so, did so because someone they had never met before came to them, or they found that person while traveling. Well that and it would be cool just to see all the other cities in the Southland, and it would be just you and the person. or persons with you to keep an eye on you, but not your parents. So you wouldn't be bothered about having to have to meet people... and... you can say you should go and see the other cities in the Southland as High Princess, which... in a way you should, but no one said you couldn't have fun while doing so."

"That's good, since I'm not sure if we'll make it back on time if we had been expected," Lore murmrued taking Elnara's hand.

As they were leaving their room Lore hoped the sights and sounds of the city would make Garrick settle down, but for all he knew that could be the opposite.

Tinuviel smiled and led Lin to the table, where she took her usual seat on the right side of the Queen's place.

"You're quite right, actually," she admitted. "As High Princess, I am expected to - at least as some point - to visit all of the Southland cities. I suppose my only worry is that I'll be forced to see every lord there is ... though I expect they would invite me to stay with them for the duration of my visits. And I can't say no to that."

She sighed. "There are times, Lin," she confided in the young girl quietly, "when I wish I was just a normal woman."
