"I'm... sorry... I didn't mean to bring up anything bad. Just trying to make conversation. I'm not very worldly either, I was kinda coddled in Gallia..." She looked up at Soren's approach, and then back down to the floor sheepishly. Now she was just feeling bad in general; she had nothing against the branded now, but it wasn't her fault that she was taught to shun them. Lethe probably was better at things like this, because she was able to go out and do things... but no matter how alike they looked, Lyre was not her twin in any way.

The playful Hawk snickered at the torches comment, glad to be by the Hawk King's side again. He was lucky to have such a forgiving leader. "I'm always ready to fly to your service, King- but as fine a sight as it would be, juggling might be below your station."

Taking a quick glance about the room, Janaff took note of everyone present- and then heard quite the nasty growl coming from Soren's stomach. Not that he didn't respect the tactician as much as the other laguz who had fought by his strategies, but he was forced to choke back laughter- hard. Wow. I'd never expected to hear him say something like that.

"Mrrf- HAH- Sorry. Looks like there's still some leftovers." He confirmed, taking a peek at the table.

"No, it is fine. I wouldn't expect you to understand... I need to learn to let the past go... I will not make the same mistake as the masses." Stefan closed his eyes as he tried to calm himself.

He had to open his eyes when he heard Soren's stomach growl though. It appeared the tactician wasn't as collected as he let on.

Lyre nodded, glad she wasn't in trouble. She giggled as Soren's stomach growled.
"There's probably some other stuff around besides french toast too, you'd just have to look..."

[Stefan... support?

I have to run, don't post tons of pages while I'm gone guys. ]

"Soren, you should have some eggs. Maybe you could build a little strength."

(Sure. If I ever get around to the subforum)

Eyeing the scraps with a nearly ravenous look in his eyes, the boy had to stop to remind himself that he had no reason to be desperate any more. Taking a deep breath, he nodded to the feathered one, hoping that would count for a thank you, and moved from the safety of his wall. He ignored the bird's ammusement, dismissing it as ignorance, and shook his head, pausing beside the girl that looked so much like the cat warrior he had once fought along side. With a thoughtful look on his face, he looked her up and down, finally giving a small, decisive nod.

"I fought with your sister once, you know. When we first met in Fort Meritenne, she and I were both foolish and blind. I instigated a fight, and she sent Mordecai after me. Ike defended me...but that was our first meeting.

Looking at her now, the change is incredible. You'd never recognize her if you knew her before. No one who's met her since could imagine the things she had to say about Beorc then...

You...you are a lot like your sister. I think you are just as capable, both in battle and in learning. You may be a bit better than your sister when it comes to changing...She is more confident in battle, but I believe you are an excellent warrior when it comes down to it.

Don't feel guilty if you don't have to. Don't fret about things that are out of your hands. And don't look down on your own good points. You are talented and bright. And you are kind. Don't overlook that."

He'd chosen not to mention his own metamorphesis, neglecting how much his own views had changed. True, he still held a bit of a grudge toward the Laguz thanks to his past, but he was able to look at them as people now. Not all were his enemies, and this girl was no different from him. Though it was a challenge for him, the boy managed to form a small, weak smile, hoping to reassure the girl. Feeling as though it would do no good and that he looked silly, he dropped it quickly, but the fact remained that he had smiled. However akwardly, and however briefly, the Branded boy had smiled for the Laguz girl. He felt foolish, and so he turned away, busying himself with gathering up his food. He grabbed anything that looked edible, not discriminating in the least bit. French toast, eggs, a few scraps of what looked and smelled like bacon, all were snatched up in his flustered hurry. He tossed a comment over his shoulder to the Swordmaster, not bothering to look his was as he addressed him.

"Stephan, I don't need to hear it. My magic is my strength, so leave my scrawny arms be, already."

Alihi nodded. "It was a pretty exciting time..." She mused, thinking back to her adventures with Lord Eliwood, Lord Hector, and Lady Lyn.
She returned quickly back to reality, however, noticing that there were more people here now.

"Healthy food does more than makes you stronger, Soren." Stefan tapped his head with a finger, "It also makes your brain healthier."

He turned to Alihi, "Oh? Do you have some tales to tell?"

Alihi blinked, confused.
"... What kind of tales do you mean, er... Stefan, wasn't it?"

{Older Soren, there's an FEF supports forum.... you should see it on the list. Too much to read, I'm improvising again.}

"I wonder what it's going to be like." Sue suddenly said to the ever enlarging group of the FEF resistance. "Our final battle. Mine and Roy's against Zephiel... it seemed like so far away, but really, it's only been a few years. ... it seemed so easy compared to what I face now."

Tibarn tapped his fingers, flapping his wings a bit and scattering water around a little area behind him, trying to dry them faster so he could get dressed. "Now, Alihi... you and Soren are both tacticians, right? Do you have any... plans worked out for our next move, or any idea of where we should go from here? If her sister and one of her own morphs revolted because she gave it free will, then I'd wager a guess that this Madriana woman is both unusually cruel and poor in foresight. Am I in the ballpark, there?"

Stefan nodded, "Ah yes, we have not yet been introduced have we? My apologies... I am indeed Stefan. Well met. You seemed to be reminiscing of the past. Would you be willing to share a story or two? There is little other way to kill the time around here..."

"My brain is healthy enough, thank you. Perhaps more so than your own, swordsman."

Intelligence did nothing for maturity, and Soren was still a bit childish at times. He pouted a bit, feeling as though the man were patronizing him. He was no child! Just because he looked younger than he should did NOT mean he was on a mental level to match. He spent much of his time studying, and he knew more than most people by now. He had seen how harsh the world could be. He was not naïve or innocent. He was not cute or sweet, either. Nothing like a child! Nothing! Alright. Perhaps he was a bit stubborn. But that didn't make him a child. The older male should not speak down to him as though he were. It was quite rude. So the boy lashed out with a childish remark, baiting him.

Alihi smiled at Stefan. "I was just thinking back to when my homeland was being threatened by the Black Fang... I was a tactician for that, too, but I also fought. Now, I think I've just lost my flair..." She sighed lightly, rolling her wrists in circles in front of her.

Alihi nodded to Tibarn. "I'd agree on the cruel part..." She didn't bother going into detail, for she believed the meaning was understood. She sat down on the floor, resting her chin in the palm of her hand.
"Honestly, I don't really have many plans. I have been thinking, yes, but nothing's really coming..." She turned to the older Soren. "How about with you?"

A smirk spread across Stefan's face, "Really now? Do you really think a bunch of facts makes you have a healthy brain? What about independent thought? Come up with anything that isn't in a book lately?"

Stefan knew he shouldn't taunt Soren, but it was just too damn hard to resist...

He turned back to Alihi, "Ah. Well don't worry, You aren't our only tactician. You two should cooperate and come up with a brilliant strategy."
