Tony was having trouble keeping his eyes open, but that didn't stop him from making one more pass through the misty blank space where New York City should have been. He and Reed Richards had already spent the better part of the last week trying every conceivable method to figure out where the damn thing had gone. He'd pestered Strange, with no visible effect. He'd even tried to contact freaking Doom as a last ditch effort, only to find that the entire COUNTRY of Latveria had disappeared. So now he was stuck with flying through the area, again.... and again, and again...hoping that it would just...
His eyes widened. He was seeing the Daily Bugle. And... Spidey?
Pop... up...
"Uh..." He probably would have looked spectacularly dumb if he hadn't been hovering in midair and wearing an incredibly shiny, cool suit... but he was, so no harm no foul. Wait... was that Carnage? "Spidey!" he called to the Web-head, "Could you possibly be in a position where some help might be appriciated? I'd hate to butt in, you know, don't want to be rude. By the way, is this an alternate dimension thing? I only ask because I have a bet going with Richards."

And God looked down upon Peter and sent unto him... a drunk wearing a shiny, super-advanced tin can. But I'll take what I can get. Peter thought. "Gee, Tony, what clued you in? Was it the part where I nearly got sliced in half? Or maybe how I've been trapped in a crazy amalgam-reality-thing for two weeks? Or perhaps just maybe it was the part where I'm single-handedly fighting off two symbiotes and a walking Bird decoy!?! What do you think!?! (Oh, and yeah, it's some interdimensional weirdness, I leave the comprehension of such things up to you and Reed Richards.) How are you?"

Tony shrugged. "Oh, you know how it goes. I just ran into this geek who looks like a high school kid in a costume, and now I have to save his sorry butt yet again. Plus," he added a bit more cheerfully, "I just won a bet. Richards was convinced that it was some kind of really complex illusion. By the way," he added to Carnage, "Carnage, this is my sonic cannon." He pointed said weapon at the creature, and listened as it hummed to life. "Sonic cannon, Carnage." He fired.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Carnage screamed in agony as the blast hit him. He instinctively shot out a web strand, but it turned to mush before he could use it.
Hybrid saw this turn of events and, realizing that he had already commited to a side this time, made a gliding membrane and sped down at Iron Man, his hands now battle axes, and sliced into the cannon from behind. He knew the attack wouldn't have done much to Iron Man himself at that angle, but without that weapon, he was in much less danger.

Spider-man leapt from his perch on the building side "Well excuse me, just because I didn't show up dressed like what would have happened if my mom had had sex with a Ferrari!"
He passed over Hybrid and attempted mid-air to attach a web-line to his gliding-membrane to try and throw off his equilibrium and bring him to the ground. As he did so, he said with all the teen drama he could muster; "Hey, Hybrid, this is gonna' sound kind of dumb after I just snubbed you for Carnage, but he's just found a new superhero so... wanna' dance?"

Tony flew down before the blades could do more than superficial damage. Then he glared up at Hybrid, putting his hands on his hips. "Now, now, there's a very nice little boy who wants to dance with you," he said, sounding as though he was talking to a toddler with pigtails, "Don't make him sad." Assuming that Spider-man would deal with it, he turned his attention back to Carnage. Charging up his cannon and lining it up, he called back to Spidey, "Why are all of your villains so damn freaky? I think there's got to be some kind of connection." Once again, he fired at the now-prone figure, and he planned on continuing to do so until it was unconscious. He'd seen what it could do.

Carnage screamed again. He needed to keep his concentration if he was going to do anything about that damn weapon. Hybrid was apparently going to be kept busy by Spider-Man. He was an inferior symbiote, as he was a lab-created symbiote made from Venom's seeds, but he still hated Spider-Man, which meant that he would ony need to deal with ONE hero. But it looked like it would only take one to take him down. He hated to admit it, but he needed help.
Hybrid looked at Spider-Man and said, "Sorry, Web-Slinger, but WE say that that weapon's gotta go..." The web DID throw him off balance, but he caught himself with a symbiote line, swinging back at the cannon, taking another swing at it, making sure that if he missed, he wouldn't be right next to Carnage; that would do NEITHER of them good.

'Pirate had gotten distracted by an even worse headache as the battle had started-not healthy or conductive to prolonged life...but the mask would do as it was wont. Magic was like that a lot, appairently. At least it seemed that Hayden would have his powers back soon-just as soon as his head stopped feeling like exploding and his stumoch was not longer pain-sick....
Looking u[p, through the tear-blurred worlwind of violence and glowing auras...he could see Crane. Good old Crane, going about his fearsome business...they were friends once, weren't they? When he was staying at Arkham...and he realized that if he slept he would dissapear?

Tony's sensors informed him of the incoming attacker in time to turn around and get off a hurried blast with the sonic cannon, followed by two short bursts with his repulser rays to get the creature back into Spidey's striking range. "Okay, really? You're going to help Carnage? Even Venom doesn't help Carnage... much. Spidey!" he added, "Keep ahold of your date, will ya? Not that this isn't flattering, but I'm not really into threesomes anymore." Lie, but whatever. This was in-fight banter.

"YEEAARRGGHH!!" Hybrid was sent falling from the air for a moment, thanks to that sonic cannon, before he managed to send out another symbiote web strand to stop the fall and take another go at the weapon. He needed to rid himself of that weapon, otherwise he was good as done. Carnage wasn't doing too good against it, and Hybrid wasn't even as strong as him. It could kill him. He formed a pickax out of his non-swinging hand in order to try and rip the cannon off that blasted suit. He swung at the sonic cannon again.
Carnage finally got a moment of silence, sweet silence, and got up again. He looked at Hybrid keeping Iron Man busy. He'd have to thank him, right before killing him himself. For now, however, they were on the same page. That cannon needed to be destroyed. He spotted a a car, and picked it up. "IRON MAN!!!" Carnage shouted, "MEET YOUR END!!!"

Scarecrow was also briefly stunned by the sonic cannon by Iron Man and had only recently got up from the affect. Scarecrow knew his toxin would work on this robot and nothing he really had would work against him except maybe the Tommy gun. Seeing as Carnage would be a better match for this man of Iron, Scarecrow focused more on Spiderman. Standing up and reaching into the bag on his hip, Scarecrow had two Fear Grenades in hand. Scarecrow needed to make a distraction so Spiderman couldn't help Iron Man. These grenades were filled with a low grade Fear Toxin, causing illusions of Phobia instead of visions in the mind. Scarecrow activated them both and started to run towards Spiderman with a Fear Grenade in each hand.
"Embrace the cold touch of Fear!"
Scarecrow cackled a bit as he threw the grenades up into the air so they would land close to Spiderman. The purpose was for the grenades to start filling a radius with Fear Toxin, not to explode on a certain time. Even if the grenades didn't land close to Spiderman, the Toxin they emitted would create an area where if Spiderman went into it or in fact anyone not equipped to resist gasses such as the Fear Toxin would experience illusions of fear to anything they saw, even their allies.

Tony glanced at the car, and used his free hand's repulser to send it crashing back into Carnage. Then he quickly turned back, jerked the cannon up, and fired it at Hybrid. "Will you stop?!" he yelled, "I don't want to kill you!" What the hell was Spidey doing, anyway? If this kept up, one of symbiotes was going to hit him eventually. It was hard enough to handle one... And... more to the point, what the hell was that scarecrow person doing? He couldn't actually think that those things were going to hit Spider-man, could he? Ominous... I hate ominous.

 The Reapers on the roof all smiled and slowly moved their shadows towards the heros.
Shadow moved back closer to the others and tried to force the shadows back and awaly from them...but all she could do was slow them down. This wasn't like trying to fight against Nightshade....this was much stronger. There were too many of them controling the shadows. She wasn't going to be able to hold this very long. "Get everyone out of here!" she called back, still keeping her focus on keeping the shadows back. She knew that if they reached them, there was a good number of things that could happen. None of which would be good.
The shadow that the Reaper on the roof had sent finally made it to the other battle scene. When he emerged, he found more had joined the fight. Hmph, another human though. That was alright he supposed though. The armor would have been tricky to get around.
Now then...what to do...
Sit here and watch?
'Help' the cyborg with that other symbiote? Possibility of cutting a piece of it off for himself...but then would he aquire the same weakness? Well, not for fire of course. Hmm...
He could help the other two deal with the Spider. There was the possibility of snagging both a piece of symbiote, and a drop of spider blood.

Peter dropped off of Hybrid and shot out a web of his own to prevent himself from falling to the ground. His spidersense alerted him that the brain-seeking straw man had drawn out two baseball-sized objects, and that was never good. "Sorry Iron Man," he yelled out "But for our double date to work out I'm going to have to ditch the fifth wheel."
As he said this, the wheel in question threw the whatever-they-were right at spider-man "Aww, for me? You shouldn't have." Spidey said as he neatly intercepted and smothered the bombs with web lines. Please don't be grenades, please don't be grenades. He thought as he whipped them back in Scarecrow's general direction, He tried to aim them down the alley behind Scarecrow, so that if they were explosive in nature they would incur the least collateral damage and (hopefully) not shred Scarecrow. "No, really, you shouldn't have, they look much better on you!" He emphasized the word as he threw.
