Douglas nodded, averting his eyes from the scene. He ignored the joke, taking a seat. It was a bit damp, but he had ridden in worse. A few memories flared, him leaving Bruma for a distant city in a splintery wooden carriage that lurched painfully every few minutes, the smooth rides he usually took... He blinked, swaying slightly as the carriage took off. Douglas stared blankly ahead, avoiding the urge to smile playfully and nudge Lord Edward. He suspected he was just a childish person, but he assumed it was just the childish body he was trapped in. Douglas turned his head and leaned on his hand, covering the smile dancing across his lips. "Have you had a good trip? No trouble, I trust?" Douglas said, attempting to start up a small conversation. The sword stuck painfully into his side, so he shifted ever slightly, the sword swinging a few inches off the ground.

Alice sighed, the red fadding from her eyes. She hoped this would go over well. The last powerful being Murakai tried to form an allience with did not comply easily... in fact the poor girl had decided to try and kill MUrakai. Alice remebered the fight, she could do nothing agaist a foe like that and she hated feeling so powerless. Alice seemed to ignore Douglas for a moment then said, "have any of you ever heard of mortals being able to manipulate lightning?" She knew it was random and she most likely sounded insane but she didnt care.

Murakai walked out of the shower. He was currently only wearing his pants as he was still drying the upper portion of his body. He walked further into his room as he dried his hair and pulling the towel away from his head say the strawberry sunday sitting on a stool He smiled and said "those cooks know just how to get on my good side." He sat down and snapping lit the candles in the room. The place was flooded with light and he took up a book. He opened it to the marked page and sighed in a relaxed manner. It was time to relax. No irritated nobles to deal with, no cowering Inari to comfort, and best of all the idiots at the fighters guild were out of the way. For good. He took a bite of the sunday at his side and smiled warmly. It just didnt get better than this. Well thats a lie, the only thing that could feel better was when he had taken over the councel. He looked down to his book and read. He loved books about vampires, as ironic as it seemed He was facinated by the way his kind were portayed by people. Some thing caght his eye and he turned his head to the door. It was ajar. Standing up he furrowed his brow and thought is my mind playing tricks on me? He didnt wait long for his answer as a shadow on the other side of the door moved in flickering candle light. He smiled and using his voice said "come out please...." Two young girls steped through the door, they were blushing. After a moment he recongized them as two of the cooks that had just started working. He smiled and picking up the sunday held it out temptingly and said "want some?"

Moments latter the two girls were sitting and Murakai was standing across from them with a slight grin. He Took a spoonfull of the ice-cream and let one of the girls have it. He smiled as they ate quietly. One of them stood up and said quietly "sir, I'm sorry we didnt mean to intrude on-" she stoped talking as Murakai turned around. He held his hand at his face, his middle finger was bleeding. It looked as if it had been biten. He held his hand out and said "do you think you could do me a little favore?" The girl blushed and walked forward. She licked some of the dripping blood and shivered. It was cold. Murakai looked down at her and she looked in his eyes. Mistake.

Nearly an hour or so latter Murakai stood at a counter poaring two glasses of wine. He sighed as one of the girls in his bed turned her back to him in her sleep. He didnt like taking advantage of people and then wiping there memorys but he couldnt have people finding out what he did when he was bored. I mean it's not like people didnt talk about him already, if it were to get out in the vampire community that he had a thing for human females it wouldnt go over well. He took the two glasses of wine over to the bed and handed one ot each of the now awake girls. He looked down and frowned. He hated being sweaty and now he had to take another shower... what a pain....

"Alice, don't be rude. He asked a question." Edward said, rolling his eyes at her and turning to Douglas. "Don't mind her; she's just grumpy because she didn't get to tear my mind to pieces." He started, "Other then the rain, we didn't have much trouble. Oh, well, we had to walk, Alice didn't give me much time to gather myself and arrange for transportation you see." Edward explained, he had to keep from calling Alice Ms. Grumpy though, which was rather hard because he normal would have. He couldn't stop from smiling though, he was a happy person by nature and having someone as cool as Douglas around made him feel like a little kid again. Edward looked to Demetria, she hadn't said anything and now he knew why. 'Heh.' Edward thought, looking back to Douglas, "You remember Demetria, don't you?" Edward asked, gesturing to the hopelessly embarrassed pile of blankets seated next to him.

Douglas looked back, the corners of his mouth still upturned in a smile. He still rmeembered the battle. He wondered faintly how they had done that in mid-air thing, but Alice hadn't brought it up, so he hadn't. Douglas put a finger to his lips, tilting his head upwards in thought. "I've seen the face, though we've probably never talked. It's nice to meet you, Demetria." He smiled the childish smile of youth, the one that every kid seemed to possess. Though the smile did look a little different, it was in essence the same.

Demetria listened to the conversations going on around her. That was almost her unofficial job. When Douglas adressed her she pulled her head and a hand out from the covers; giving him a wave and a smile. Once again, she had gone through another mood swing. Plus, she knew the Edward was making fun of her in his mind for being embarassed. Meanie.

(( Gah! Stop it, Cuddles! Stop it! x3 Yur making me smile insanely here for no god damned good reason! x3 ))

Oh good, Demetria wasn't feeling bitchy anymore. And now Edward's jaw was starting to hurt, too much smiling! Why did Douglas have to be so small and cute and yet be as old as he was?! Edward wanted to squeeze the gooseberries out of the little guy but also wanted to respect their age difference, appearances always threw him off a bit. Well, Edward was older then him, but that still didn't matter much, he should still respect the age gap. Eighty year olds shouldn't go around hugging sixty year olds (ok so Doug was almost 70, but whatever), twenty (ten) years is a rather large gap. Why couldn't Edward have been smarter and figured out that his uncle was a vampire sooner then he had? Now Edward was jealous, he wanted to be cute like that! "I presume you've been doing well for yourself Douglas. Has anything new happened since last we met; besides Chorrol going evil of course?" Edward asked; it was polite!

"Not much. Chorrol hasn't exactly gone evil, I would say. Maybe they've just changed their perspective. I wonder how long this event has been in planning." Douglas turned his gaze towards Alice. "It's nice to know you're not fighting me this time. She's a killer with a sword in her hand." He smiled childishly, grinning from ear to ear. Douglas' attention turned back to the question, and he tilted his head up ponderingly. "I don't recall anything that eventful happening. Maybe a few skirmishes that were dealt with easily, but as I said, not much."

"Not gone evil? You attack Demetria you're called evil by me. They're evil." Edward stated, obviously not caring that Alice was right there. Whatever. Edward blinked, "She attacked you too?" He asked, looking over to Alice and then back to Douglas, well, wasn't she mighty friendly. "Oh! Right, we're planning the harvest festival back in Cheydinhal right now. It's going to be marvelous! If you ever get the time you should come round and join in the fun." Edward said, sure, he had just been talking with Demetria about it too, but he really like the harvest festival! There was no harm in liking.

Alice frowned and said "I did not use a sword. My weapon of choice is a Sythe." She looked out the window to see a dove struggling in the storm. She held her hand out and the bird flew to her. She feld the shivering creature protectivly and said "I attackled you in order to show you my masters strenght." She looked at Douglas and said "Master Murakai has been planning this since before any of us were born..." She stroked the little doves head and said "He tried once before but failed... however the councel learend to fear him as the battle destroyed many city's and killed even more vampires...."

Douglas' face hardened a bit when he was corrected, a small flame flickering to life in his eyes. "Sword, scythe, not much of a difference. Hard to distinguish when fighting." Douglas mumbled something to himself about blurred images and not caring about shapes and names when you were about to die. His fingers still had tiny scars from where he had punctured solid brick to keep from falling into that... wormhole. "It sounds nice..." Douglas murmured, answering Edward. He wondered why Bruma didn't have any festivals. Was he not a festive person? They had parties to celebrate the economy increasing, or to brighten the mood when the factories were on strike, but never really... festivals. Maybe Bruma was too much of a serious town. Grey and bleak, snowy and cold, Bruma. "Good... ol' Bruma," doulgas muttered to himself, reffering back to his thoughts.

"Oh that's right, Bruma doesn't have festivals do you?" Edward said, just now thinking about that. And then, like some little kid in a candy store (who had free range and all the money he could ever want to buy all the candy with) Edward started thinking about the kinds of festivals Bruma could have. "Don't you have a winter festival, or some kind of frost one? Celebrate all the snow and stuff?" Edward asked, he would have set something up like that already. They have festivals for every season in Cheydinhal actually, if they didn't Edward would get bored. Which then just resulted in him making a festival for no good reason. He couldn't help it if he still acted like a little kid.

"Oh, no no no..." Douglas murmured, turning to Edward. "We don't have one, but we have large parties when the economy's flourishing or doing poorly." He beamed, then looked suddenly serious. "It's pretty fun, but mostly it's just a celebration of success, or to brighter up the horrible mood. We're a party town."

"Whaaa? How could you not have something like a winter solstice festival or something?" Edward asked, shaking his head. It just didn't seem right to not have one! "And how can you say something like that with such a serious face? It's just not right." He said, he had to resist poking Douglas in the forehead as he said it though, 'Do not act like a little kid just because he looks like one . . .' But Edward couldn't help it. "I seem to be losing brain cells with each passing day and reverting back into a child." Edward mumbled to himself, cuddling into his blanket and Demetria's side a bit more.
