Damn, I'd prefer a crying baby or a crazy long final to what I've been going through this week.

On Tuesday a 60 lbs box fell of a conveyor at work and landed on my head.

I've been told that worker's comp won't cover for any time off of work and so any days off I take to recover go against my attendance (which I have to keep above 95% because I'm still on probation). I took yesterday off because I woke up in immense pain and even the lights at work were irritating my headache (I had to go in to talk to the nurse)

Doctor says I have whiplash and pulled muscles in my back.

I've been on light duty since the accident but have troubles doing even that. Got a doctors note on friday saying I need to keep my head in a neutral position and can't use my left arm (hurts my shoulder, back, and neck). So starting monday I'm on super light duty. I plan to ******** off most of the day because I can't actually do much of anything for more than five minutes, and everything at work is a 'look down while you do it' kind of job - which I can't do. mad

how did it even fall off the conveyor belt in the first place? stressed ...you should sue for unsafe work environment! scream ...do they even know a freaking 60lb box fell on your head? razz ...those dumbasses mad ...well..at least you get paid to sit around biggrin *patpat*
The boxes backed up and one fell off. It happens quite often actually but usually they fall off where there is netting, this spot didn't have any.

Right after the accident they did measurements and stuff to put netting up, but nothing else has been done.

I've considered suing, especially since they've been giving me nothing but bullshit.

Oh, I forgot to mention! When I took friday off I was told that it would be marked down as "refusal to work"! scream I didn't refuse to work, I COULDN'T work!

And I still can't work, but I HAVE TO show up on Monday and work despite my injuries or else I run risk of getting fired for missing too many days. stare

If things don't smarten up soon I'll go to the union and see what they say. If need be, I'll keep working my way through the system until this wrong is righted. Too many people were talking today about how the company ******** them over with worker's comp. One lady was off for two weeks, didn't see a penny. Another guy missed like 100 hours, and got paid for maybe 5. It's rediculous thinking about how many people are suffering at work when they should be healing at home.

Don't work through it, go straight to the union, you'll have more than enough evidence to make serious changes to your work.

Yeah, the glove room (sorting through gloves, putting them in bins, handing them out) You also get to clean the cafeteria, bathroom, and change rooms if you're able to (I did some of the girl's change room on Monday, although I really shouldn't have))
